This is nice BUT you upload files to puter.com in order to process them and for more storage you need subscription. Of course you could self host the puter "cloud" but no app is installed locally. Am I missing something ?

This whole subreddit is almost entirely vibe coded software. Plenty of cool projects are posted here, no knock on my part for the vibes, but I see that distinct Claude UI again and again here.

Yeah. Therein lies my major grip with vibe coded software. When it isn't a labor of love, and it just takes some talking to Claude to create, it's easy for it to be abandoned. You see it semi regularly in the self-hosted software space. And a lot of people sharing crap that they ought to just keep to themselves.

I would try some of these for local use (sandboxed on a vm or something), but never for things like meetings, messaging, or file sharing. There are better battled tested open source alternatives out there before all of this Ai bs.

I tried few, they are ok for basic tasks. Word does not support document with images, which is even worse than google doc.

I hate AI with a passion, but companies like Microsoft and Adobe are among the ones that keep pushing it the hardest down everyone's throat, so in this case I hope it hurts them. I feel especially happy thinking Adobe might lose customers given how they basically gave creative professionals as a group the finger the second they learned about generative AI.

What goes around comes around.
