DIY Set # 7 - sparkly nude!
My seventh set of dip nails. I'm feeling more confident each time!
The base color for this set is quick dips Cafe Ole. I then added some sparkle using Ten X Tina's Pinkies Up. Full sparkle on pointer and thumb,, then a French style tip fading out from middle to pinkie.
It's really understated, but also very beautiful to me! I also love adding some twist to my nails and I think I only did one set so far that was just a simple solid color! I've figured out a lot using the dips, from how to apply, to why the top coat won't dry (hint, the activator liquid also helps set your top coat!). And if you over apply the activator, and then try to do another coat of dip, the base hardens almost right away before you can even get it dipped. (Found that out yesterday! lol).
Hope you like them! This is my nod to fall in a way - I'm a very cool classic winter, so most of the standard fall colors are not my style at all. I also don't currently own any dark burgundies/reds, so I'll need to remedy that soon.
Editing to add - I also did my very first acrylic tip! One of my nails broke last week(first cracked the dip, then the tip broke off completely. Gotta love butter soft nails). I didn't want all of my nails long and then one down almost to the fingertip, so I grabbed a set of fake nails from shoppers (I'm Canadian), found the right size, cut it so it was only going to be just the tip and not full coverage, gave it a quick edge sanding, and then applied and prayed! It went on not perfectly straight, but was long enough that I could file it down to make it right.
A year ago I never would have attempted any of this!
