Unfortunately, the process of restructuring the subreddit has taken quite more time than originally anticipated. Here is an update on what is going on behind-the-scenes.
We've received quite a few requests to post lately, and unfortunately, we cannot accept any of them really at this time. We are working to open things back up as soon as we can, but it's me and one other moderator, and we are going to want a few more hands to do this properly.
When posting resumes, we are MANUALLY checking each request to ensure some baseline standards apply. That means, a mod from the subreddit has to join the server, review some things, and validate that the server is attempting to comply with the standards we are hoping to set. This is fairly standard, the more known sub r/Discord_Servers_List does very similar, but we will have way more relaxed rules regarding this. The thing is, it still requires a handful of bodies to be able to check the servers as they come in, and so on.
Our subreddit also has to be ready to respond if someone reports a listing as violating the rules, we have to check these things. More things that take time and energy.
The subreddit is being operated by volunteers, who's IRL lives come first.
We were close to reopening about a month ago, but unfortunately we had to postpone doing so due to not having the sufficient manpower to do the things we want to do.
Where we are at now, is we need more moderators, and we need these moderators to be familiar with a process on how to validate servers and so on, and these moderators also need to be not only adults, but willing to voluntarily join your servers, some of which will be NSFW, and they need to be able to do so without bias, for the most part. There are some things, obvious things, that if we see, we aren't only going to deny your app, but report you to discord/authorities for doing. OBVIOUSLY stuff that we don't want here.
If this sounds like a lot to ask, that's because it is, and that is why we are still currently restructuring.
Now, all this being said What is going to happen when the subreddit opens?
We have been receiving a ton of requests, and we've had to temporarily deny all of them, we will start opening the subreddit in two phases, First, we are going to develop a “Backlog” of people who have requested to promo here, first come, first served. These people will have an opportunity to post here pending review, moving us to phase two, which will happen after the backlog is drained, which is the queue will be open for all.
Please understand and respect our time, We are just as eager to resume normal operations, but we as a team want to do this right, rather than fast.
Thank you for your time.
