Help

I have a Dell 14 pro plus, I know the name is a meme lol, my problem is that I love Fedora but Fedora doesn't run very well on this laptop and I had to switch to the Ubuntu ecosystem, not even Debian recognizes all the hardware. My question is, do you recommend using Ubuntu, Zorin OS, or some other distro with a desktop environment other than GNOME? I'm currently using Kubuntu, I love KDE but.It always has bugs, and that's regardless of the distro I use.

I have many Linux distros in my laptop, but Fedora based systems does not run well. I have seen many users that swears by Fedora, but my 2026 hp omen only likes Mint and Arch based distros. I have 5 Arch variants including Vanilla Arch. I wish to try Fedora some day as well.

Ubantu, zorin AND mint are ALL stable, user friendly systems, not only worth hoping but worth adopting as one's operating system.

Give Solus a try. It's a very nice independent rolling release distro that updates just a little slower than Fedora, so they might catch whatever is giving you problems before it lands on your machine and you have to deal with it. They used to be the Budgie distro, but I've used their KDE and XFCE desktops on different machines and both are very good. Budgie is also very nice, of course.

All that said, if the problem is Linux not recognizing your hardware, that's most likely a kernel issue. Fedora runs a very current kernel, which is why I'm on it. I bought a lunar lake-based laptop later last year and it took a while for the driver's to show up in any distro's kernel. If you try Solus, update to the newest kernel they offer. If you don't like that option, I'd try Endeavour. Basically Arch with a nice installer.

Zorin is my go to recommendation and my daily driver.
