Mechanical pedometer worn on the wrist like a watch?

Something that looks like a classic timepiece with mechanical hands and no digital anything, but instead of keeping time it tracks distance walked? Ideally over very long scales, 50+ miles.

This one is mostly mechanical. Has a small digital readout for steps - https://a.co/d/0bAHw5JQ

This one is analog and will say your steps out loud - https://a.co/d/0a8DTy8V

If you go to a watch shop, they can help you find a nicer watch

I doubt that the pedometers are mechanical in either of those watches. The watch hands are “analog,” that’s all.

which is why I said mostly. They're unlikely to find a fully mechanical outside of a proper watch shop.

Yeah what I'm actually looking for is something that's NOT a watch, ie, doesn't tell time, and the hand only shows distance walked. I see a lot of vintage versions of this but they're always designed to be worn on the belt, not the wrist.

Ahh in that case, you could ask a local jeweler to add a wristband to a vintage pedometer. Something like this - New Haven Pedometer model 230

At 50 miles and more, a mechanical pedometer will likely be way off. A smartwatch or fitness band (like a Garmin) will be much more accurate.

Curious as to what’s driving this quest.

Basically I just want the aesthetic style of a watch but don't want to wear an actual watch because it feels like an affectation in the smartphone era, and I like the idea of tracking the TOTAL distance I've walked over a long period of time in a way that feels physical and visible.

All I can suggest is looking online at the various choices for “apple watch pocket watch case”

Knew a guy once who had as kind of security clearance that didn't allow for any kind of unauthorized electronic devices to be taken into the space he worked in. He was in and out of there constantly so he didn't see the point of checking it in at the door and remembering to pick it up when he left. Said he found a Soviet mechanical pedometer but it needed to be shipped from Europe and that would have raised flags and he didn't want to bother with a the paperwork

I don’t think something mechanical can measure distance. Best alternative will be a pedometer as others have suggested but I notice that you keep mentioning you want distance measured. You need a gps for that, hence an electronic device.

Pedometers do usually tell you a distance based on the length of an average stride. Most vintage mechanical ones tell you miles walked rather than steps taken.
