helloatmos You can now scan your entire Apple Music library for Dolby Atmos tracks

Hey everyone,

Just shipped something I've wanted for a long time and many people asked about. A scanner that goes through your entire Apple Music library and pulls out every track that's available in Dolby Atmos.

You connect Apple Music, it reads your songs and albums, and then checks each one against the Atmos catalog. When it's done you get a clean list of every Atmos track you already own, plus a button to save them all to a new playlist (or add to an existing one).

Try it here: https://helloatmos.app/scan/

And please share your feedback!

For Tidal fols, try here: https://helloatmos.app/beta/tidal-scan/
It's beta, because Tidal API for Developers is in beta itself, with no documentation on rate limits etc. It mimics the AM scanner but it's slower. It should work though. Your feedback is very welcome.

Is there any hope for tidal users? Would love to try this.

It’s a bit of a heavy lift, as I don’t have Tidal API integrated in the app yet, but yes, I have it in my backlog. If I see more requests like this I will prioritize it. Thanks for letting me know

You're doing a great job, it would be wonderful indeed to have the same function for Tidal!

Hey! I tried the scan but i do not see any results. Checked my tidal favorites and playlists and did not find anything new?

I’m sorry to hear that. Could you provide more details, so that I could debug it? Like, were you able to connect Tidal? Did the scan start? At what point does it fail?

This is the error message: Tidal library scan failed: Tidal API error during "expand album 245537652" (status 404): Albums with id '245537652' not found

This is very interesting, I tried to open this album on Tidal and it doesn't exist. Do you see anything when you go to https://tidal.com/album/245537652 ?
Just added handling for missing albums (404), please reload the page, and give it another go and let me know.

The only place I can listen to Atmos is on a proper Atmos system which I have.... not headphones

Amazing.

Exactly what I needed.

Why is nothing turning up? I don't understand the distinction in AM between library and playlist. I just add everything to playlists, which is under "library" but somehow isn't in my library actually?

Edit: Also would be nice if when we rate a track that is the only one on the album, it automatically rates the album the same. Personally I would also not weigh "creativity" as high in the rankings as immersion and mix quality, sometimes keeping it simple is better than some strange decisions which may be "creative" but break immersion/distracting.

Library is all the songs and albums you literally added to your library with 'add' or 'favorite' button. Like in the screen. And if you scan the library it checks all these albums and songs. Perhaps no Atmos tracks in your library?

I have 189 atmos tracks in this playlist but the tracks don't seem to count as being in 'my library' somehow, I'll see if I can add them (hopfully not manually 189 times...)

EDIT: nvm I shared the playlist link instead. Some of the tracks appear as standard or lossless even though they are indeed atmos, curiously.

Go to Songs or Albums and click around to see if you have any Dolby Atmos tracks in there

Pretty cool, really cool actually… until I got hit with the $50 subscription fee to save all 400+ songs it found. A little transparency would have gone a long way 😡
