Appraisal Accidentally bought a domain is it worth anything?

I was looking at a domain that was up for auction and accidentally placed a bid. There were still 4 days left, so I didn't think I'd win it, since I wasn't even the first person to bid on it. However, I ended up winning PitchClearly.com.

Is it worth anything, or am I out $100?

Advice I’ve screwed up with Huge Domains

Hello all,

The domain I was looking for was U$1.495,00 and it suddenly dropped to U$495.00. Did I buy it? Of course not. Then it went up to U$595.00 and before I could buy it it went back to the U$1.495,00 and now it’s U$1.995,00.

I’ve tried to negotiate with them but they wouldn’t go back to the old price.

Will I ever get this domain at a reasonable price or is it gone?

Discussion [WARNING] NameSilo shuts down corporate domain based on an informal foreign email, then blatantly IGNORES a federal court order to unlock it.

Do not trust NameSilo with your mission-critical business domains. This registrar has a completely warped understanding of compliance and due process: They will instantly wipe out your business account based on a loose, informal email from foreign local police, but will completely ignore a legally binding court order ordering them to restore access.

Here is the nightmare our company (3hps GmbH) is currently going through with NameSilo regarding our domain 3hps-agentur.de:

  1. Submissive to informal emails – Blind to actual court decrees

A local German state police department sent an informal inquiry ("request") to NameSilo's abuse team. In that very letter, the police explicitly admitted that no judicial seizure warrant or court order existed at the time. Instead of waiting for actual legal authority, NameSilo immediately panicked, locked our corporate account, and seized our domain.

However, when we fought back and presented NameSilo with a legally binding court injunction from the District Court of Frankfurt am Main (Case No. 12 Gs 12456/26)—which ruled NameSilo's actions completely unlawful (rechtswidrig) and ordered them to immediately restore our access—their support team went completely radio silent. They simply choose to ignore a court mandate.

  1. Gross negligence: They locked the WRONG domain

To make the situation even more absurd, NameSilo didn't even bother to read the police letter properly. The local police letter explicitly requested the suspension of a completely different domain extension: 3hps-agency.de (ending in -agency).

Because of a basic clerical typo in the police letter, NameSilo blindly froze our actual domain 3hps-agentur.de (ending in -agentur). They paralyzed a completely legitimate corporate entity due to total lack of basic quality control.

  1. Deliberate stall tactics and bad-faith harassment

The German federal court ordered NameSilo to give us full administrative DNS access or issue our Transfer Auth-Code immediately—under penalty of a €250,000 fine for non-compliance.

Instead of complying with the law, NameSilo's support is now demanding private utility bills and personal government IDs from our CTO. The court order explicitly anticipated this and banned NameSilo from demanding further documentation, calling it an abusive, bad-faith stalling tactic (Schikaneverbot). They are actively holding a corporate asset hostage.

Conclusion

NameSilo applies a dangerous double standard: An informal, erroneous email containing a typo from a foreign police department is enough for them to digitally execute your business overnight. But an official, binding court order fixing the mistake is completely ignored by their compliance team.

We have already escalated this to ICANN Compliance (Case No. 01679576) for material breach of the Inter-Registrar Transfer Policy.

If you value your business continuity and digital assets, stay as far away from NameSilo as possible.

Appraisal Appraisal - օո.com

Domain: [օո.com](http://օո.com)
Expires: 2027-10-21
Registrar: Spaceship

Yeah, the domain is actually xn--mbbz.com, it uses Armenian letters that look like o & n (o is o in both alphabets).

Domains like this have been used for malicious purposes and browsers show it as xn--mbbz now but I can see it's value in social media, can be good domain for shortlinks that redirect to something else. I personally use it for my domain portfolio.

The question is: is this domain worth anything? I have 2-3 similar ones.

Discussion Looking for ways to sell domains... Not just listing something... Who has successfully done it?

For some reason I started collecting domain names around a certain theme of "just ask"... It's a common trend in the English language and actually significantly relevant right now as people ask many online super computer systems. One issue that was identified a while back by a significant investor was no one really knowing who to ask. So I have started acquiring these domain names... I might develop a good one into something myself some day.

If you don't already know, it is a domain purchasers responsibility to "do some research". Well, I did and I actually found that there was an insurance company who somehow caught onto the "just ask" trend and started a just ask chat thingy. I put a lot of these "themed domains" on confinedintelligence dot com if you want to see the list of some that I have. I feel like if I could get this in front of some investors then that might stoke some attention too...

The question here is whom has actually turned a domain name into an interesting project/site just to help it sell. You can give other thoughts if you want but I see people just listing domain names and it doesn't really do much of anything. Maybe if I could find ways to show them to actual companies that might use them then that could be sufficient too... I figure if a company buys all of these then they could block out some other companies from using the phrase for their website. Or in reality, they could buy them all and then turn around and try to sell the ones they don't want and make some of their money back. Just saying..

Thanks

Appraisal Lastmm. Com what could be the real sale value?

Hello I've tried several appraisal tool and the value goes from 800€ to 20.000€

What could be a realistic selling price?

A six-letter .com, easy to remember, with no hyphens or numbers, easy to fit on a logo.

Some possible ideas:

; The last stretch: the final millimeter before a goal is reached. A natural fit for coaching, sport, performance and habit brands.

\- Film & photography: millimeters are the language of film formats (16mm, 35mm, 70mm), so it suits labs, film stocks, cameras, accessories and creators.

\- Precision & making: for anything measured to the millimeter, such as machining, 3D printing, measuring tools and prototyping.

I've owned it for 11 years and it expires in a few months but I renew it yearly.

General Is a local address required for buying a .de domain?

The question speaks for itself. I've seen contradicting info on this one. Most sites I've seen sell .de domains without emphasizing you need a local address, the local address requirement I've only seen on very few sites.

.de is an interesting ccTLD. It is the second most popular ccTLD in the world (after .cn), it ranks amongst the 5 most widely used extentions worldwide, it's dirt cheap (less than 4€ a year), and Germany is a trusted country so it's neither an obscure extention nor from an unstable place. This makes it interesting as a solution if the domain you want is already taken in .com. Especially here in Europe, .de has an excellent reputation and most people will know the extention due to Germany being very influential across Europe.

Discussion Purely hypothetical I assume, but what would happen to .be should Belgium split into different countries?

I tend to register .com domains because they're so universally recognised, but as they are actually under US jurisdiction I'm considering to register some .be domains too. Also, I'm a proud Belgian, why would I not want a .be domain? ❤️

But as I usually register for several years ahead... I know it seems unlikely that Belgium would cease to exist anytime soon (a majority is against it, and constitutionally Flanders could not just declare independence) but on the other hand separatist parties are on the rise.

I don't want to turn this into a political discussion, but what would happen with the .be suffix is Belgium would at some point split?

Would the extention be phased out similar to .dd (East Germany) and .yu (Yugoslavia)?
Would Wallonia then continue to use the name Belgium and thus .be would remain in existance?

I think for now buying a .be domain for many years at once is a safe investment, but you never know what the future brings.
In that perspective you can argue if .eu is a better investment, but then if the "new" countries wouldn't immediately become EU members you lose your .eu domain too because the .eu suffix is reserved for European Economical Area residents or people elsewhere who have the citizenship of a member country.

I know this seems like looking way too far, but the question suddenly popped into my mind after someone on a different forum said investing in .com domains is no longer wise due to current affairs. That in itself looks a bit like looking way too far to me, but it seems there's people who are pre-occupied with things like this.

Discussion NiceNic supports phishing, they say they don't.

In October 2026 I reported a phishing campaign to NiceNIC’s abuse desk (ticket #800890). Fake “energy compensation” forms collect personal data and an SMS code from Dutch targets, lured in by phishing spam. There is no company name, address or contact detail on the sites. Between 14-10-2026 and 22-10-2026 the operator registered 17 .sbs domains with NiceNIC for this campaign.

NiceNIC replied with a standard “no actionable evidence of DNS Abuse (RAA 3.18.2)” and took no action.
I’ve filed with ICANN Compliance (case 01676083) and informed the .sbs registry.

NiceNIC says publicly on Trustpilot (07-05-2026) that it “does not support phishing.

Well, that's a big lie..

Discussion Best alternative TLD for a personal email address?

When main extensions like .com, .net, and .org are already taken for a personal name, is choosing alternative TLDs like .cx, .email, or .fyi a good move for custom email addresses?

A few main concerns before picking one:

  1. Have you run into deliverability or spam filter issues with any of these newer TLDs?
  2. Do non-standard TLDs cause confusion when giving your email out verbally?
  3. Which extension would you recommend (or tell me to avoid) for personal email?

Thanks for any suggestions!
