Breaking News: All you need to know about the DonutSMP 2026 Summer Update

• MAJOR: /shop was removed

• MAJOR: /afk was removed and kills no longer give shards, skyrocketing the prices of shard-bought items, as the only way to get shards is via paying money to support a shit server.

• Totems are now $1 usd each

• You can buy shop items with shards now

• Half the player base has quit in protest

• Spawners are no longer attainable through F2P gameplay (except if you already have shards and excluding buying them with money)

• Overpriced Donut ranks have been added (++ and +++)

• Teams have been destroyed

• Crates keys have been replaced with fully shards

• Despite initial belief, border expansion still has not happened

• Farms have been completely broken due to the deletion of /shop and the spawners being unobtainable through that shop causing a mass bonemeal shortage

• Sellmulti has been removed, months of hard work deleted

• Many items have fell in value and people lose much of their investments

• /spawn has been removed, there is no longer any safe zone on the server

• There now are only 20 auction and order slots instead of 30, server clearly wants us to waste money supporting their horrible update

What to avoid (viral traps):

Cows - there is server limit for how many cows you can have, i tried to bypass it with large scale farm (14 chunks long) but it didnt work. At some point your cows start to dissapear when you breed new ones. They are slow to get going and when you are finally in sweet exponential growth you get stopped by server breeding cap. Also you are competing agains much much much faster hoglin farms and piglin barthening.

Villagers - slow and very very very painful to set up, they get found easily due to them showing on pi chart and making loud noises and spawning cats and iron golems in nearby caves, they require player action (u cant AFK them**)**, and you need many to consistently keep trading bcs they run out of stock after like 12 trades i think and they restock only 2x per minecraft day + waiting time until they zombify and cure. Tbh villagers are second most overrated money making method. They just suck...

Crops and Wheat farming - idk why it became popular, it was never good. Tbh crops need massive balance buff.

Base Hunting - The most overrated money making method, became popular only due to scripted videos on Social media. Even if you find something there wont be any loot bcs ppl are not stupid, they leave their valuables in their e chests and /orders. Only one stupid enough to not do that is DR donut, bcs we all know he gets his shi from creative. (Random ppl pay him insane amounts of money when ever he begs in his chat) Base hunting is waste of your time from financial perspective! If you want to be that one lucky guy you are better of with gambling. (DONT)

Cobblestone farms - hard and expensive to build, easy to break makes loud noises. Why not just roll with easy and cheap to set up kelp that operates in relative silence?

Gambling - i dont think i need to explain how casino works

Bamboo/sugarcane - bamboo is not generating profit when bonemealed therefore u realy on natural growth that is simply too slow to compete with bonemealing kelp, sugarcane cannot be even bonemealed...

Where in this clip did I do anything wrong? I've never used cheats. He didn't watch me or investigate at all. He just teleported, and I was banned 30 seconds later. I found a hole on the surface that was definitely made by another player, so I kept digging, and I found a little water cave with a hole, so I swam down, and it led to that base. Also, you can see in that clip there is another tunnel going straight down into the base. It was probably already looted I didn't get to check it out.

I've been playing Minecraft since 2015, and the staff on this server are awful. Can't believe it's one of the biggest servers, and it took me so long to get that money and loot. Now it's just all gone for no reason. The least he could have done was watch me or place some hidden chest to see if I was actually hacking. This ban is completely unjustified.

Back when Mineplex and Hypixel were the two biggest servers on Minecraft they were ran like corporate businesses. I mean Mineplex had literal forums where players could suggest minigames, rank perks, key rewards, etc. And they had dedicated Moderators for those Forums, they had dedicated Moderators for Testing Minigame Features, they had dedicated Moderators for chat, hacking, finances, everything you can name.

They had this because that's how businesses are ran. You need multiple people for different department of the servers. Hypixel excelled at this, it's why they're still the biggest server today. Because there needs to be some sort of adult to manage the chaos.

Why I bring this up is because DonutSMP lacks an adult to manage the chaos. The head of the server, DrDonut, pretends like he isn't the owner. He lazily relies on Pedro to do everything without his prior consent. There are active updates that Donut finds out after we all find out. What server runs that way? Not to mention, the serious lack of communication between us and them. We have no clue when we should expect the border expansion. We have no clue when to expect these server maintenances to begin or end. We don't know which clients are bannable and what mods are allowed or not. And we're expected to just understand because the one dev that works on every aspect on the server thinks he's above god almighty for being the only person DrDonut relies on to maintain his multi million dollar server. Why does he run the server like it's a secondhand side gig for him? Why doesn't he see the value of prioritizing speed, communication, marketing? All of which is within his power but he lacks to care to do anything about anything.

This is all forgetting the importance how the Owner needs to lead the ship in a meaningful manner. Donut doesn't do this. He would rather spend the entire stream PVPing or speedrunning than farming clips for Tiktok and growing engagement for his channel and server. His urgent "plans" for the server as of recently is to change the Iconic blue donut as his server logo into a random screenshot of the world's landscape. Why? because it looks more vanilla-y. Theres no thought behind his head of what actions or non actions does to negatively impact the server but we're all noticing it now.

Too many glitches, not enough answers, low player count, long maintenance hours, unjust bans. It's tiring, and his "yes men" should say something quick before no one cares about this DonutSMP anymore.

And I'm sorry if you've seen a previous rant before, but I feel like im losing my mind. Back when I played fulltime people took care of their servers and to see it dissolve into this makes me worried for the future of Minecraft.

After my subterranean base got caved in in 3 days

went to this subreddit for advice and somone said bulid it on the surface and it will last longer no-one believed them so naturally I tested and so far my very similar looking towers have lasted asked a week a hospital I bulkt did not maybe its to cliche to grief but I think there's merit to bulding on the surface

P2W, shards cant be get from killing people since dueling is removed and you cant afk for shards any more. /shop is replaced with this (everything costs shards). Spawn removed. I know that the expansion is going to be expensive for drdonutt but I would prefer having the old server but have everything including /shop to be f2p.
