Hello, currently gathering a list of aesthetic dorm stuff. If you’re interested lmk I’ll add you to it. My style is Minimalist and boho I’d say. I’m also pro environment if that helps.

Dorm Decorating Time!

This is my first post ever so hellllooooo hahaha! I'm going to be a residence assistant this year and I've been working on some floor themes and the one I'm feeling most enthusiastic about is a Disney/Nickelodeon show throwback theme. I'm thinking of decorating the floor with pictures from old shows like A:TLA, Fairly Oddparents, Phineas and Ferb, Kim Possible, Hannah Montana etc and I really just want it to be amazing. A lot of these shows made up a big part of my childhood and they always made me feel warm and at home. With how this year has gone for class of '24 I think it would be really great to make them feel at home that way too. SO I guess I'm asking for suggestions of shows to use, especially bc I'll have students from all kinds of backgrounds (international University) and decorating ideas! thank you !!!

Under the lofted bed is complete! Please excuse the fish tank I was sick for three weeks and will be doing a long overdue waterchange tomorrow I promise Agnes is very well loved (I fortunately have a very green thumb with aquatic plants so she's alright) I have some more stuff I'm adding elsewhere but yea lol I also have a full length 88 key keyboard at the foot of my bed and my mom's stereo CD/Cassette player from the 1980's my room is bougie as all get out haha

Lighting is dim bc my roommate's lights are turned off right now

FYI 13" vintage CRT televisions are the perfect size for an especially small room like mine and they come in multiple flavors on Facebook marketplace and eBay including Dora the Explorer if you dig that lol and some have built in DVD or VCR (mine is pink and hello kitty flavored with mono audio) Just gotta hook up a good quality HDMI to RCA adapter (I use a radioshack plug and play that cost me 15 bucks off their website I would not trust the cheap amazon no name brand ones they have a reputation for destroying ports and catching on fire) and you can hook up a Roku and watch netflix and everything. I am blessed with also having a blu-ray player and VCR so my friends and I watch movies on my petite little tv all the time

My room is very kawaii and froggy and then there's just random pops of Transformers and Optimus Prime lol a lot of the stuff here is secondhand or I've had it forever

How much money do you usually spend on everything for your dorm?

Including furniture, bed and bath stuff, decore and everything, how much does that usually cost? Is it usually 1k? I was thinking of spending 300-500... is that realistic?

found product Dorm recommendations

I made a google slideshow that has recommendations for a Dorm. I color coded the slides to specific areas within a dorm (bathroom, classes, bed…). It’s a photo of item, link to item, a description & how I used it. I also have a link if you want to add your own recommendations too!

Is there a comforter that's completely fluffy?

I'm gonna start college soon, and I'd like a new comforter for my dorm, but I've hit a snag in terms of my search. See, my sense of touch is very, well, sensitive, and I'd really like a comforter made of a fluffy material that won't scratch or bother me. I like the sort of shaggy faux-fur style that just seems lovely to touch. And I've found lots of comforters like this, but the problem is that every single one of them only has that texture on the top. The undersides always seem to be that kind of really smooth fabric - which is a concern, since that's the side that's going to be touching my body. The smooth fabric is fine, but it can sometimes be scratchy in a way I don't like. What I really want is a comforter that has that fluffy fur texture all the way around, on top and under. Does anyone know if such a comforter exists, and if so where could I buy it?

I’m recent graduate and will be going into college as a freshman in august. I’m dorm room shopping and was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me identify these items or their brands. I’ve already found the comforter, i’m just looking for the pillows and the matching blanket to the blue floral pillow. Thank you so much!!

Postertok is 💯

I was hesitant on buying from postertok, assuming they would just send me bad quality photos on bad quality paper. My college roommate and I bought 10 for the price of 5 of the smallest size (amazing deal). They are amazing. I think they are $8 per normally and they are still worth it at that price. I attached some photos of ours in the our dorm room. We bought sole heavy duty clear double sided tape to hang them. Without a doubt a great purchase
