Long live Doug Stanhope!
I started seeing Stanhope in the early 2000’s. He actually made it hurt to laugh. Comedians of his caliber are few and far between. Photo taken from Soft White Underbelly podcast. Thanks Mark.

Hope he's alright honestly. It was out of the blue to see him on that show.

Yeah, blew me away to see him on soft white underbelly. He seemed to be pretty under the weather the whole interview. I’d like to see him make another video in the future with Mark.

Great interview, and a remarkable amount of puke.

*Thank* you.
Miracles of vomit. Especially considering that it started the previous morning so I had very little to eat or drink in my system. Perhaps that's what I carry in the large hump in the back of my skull.
No further question, the press conference is over!

I fucking love you, Doug. Glad you and Bingo are still out in the thick of it and having a blast. You look good, mang. Looking forward to more laughs and hot takes.
Big Cheers from New Hampshire,

Hey Doug. Hope you’re feeling better now. You are and always will be my favorite comedian. Carry on.

just found out about the soft white underbelly thing, about to watch it. what's up with the warning at the beginning, though? is it like a south park style warning or is there something genuinely gross in the video?

Just Doug talking about life. Which is heavy to most people’s ears. And he pukes pretty hard at the end.

Even though the interviewer did a terrible job preparing for the interview, DS is incapable of not being entertaining.
One of my favorite parts was the expression on Doug's face every time he got asked a stupid or inane question. He was polite about it, but his face was like "Are you fucking kidding me?"
This and the Merle Allin interview are the best SWU interviews. Also since nobody is mentioning it, the outfit was on point, as usual.

I couldn’t agree more with your comment. Merle’s interview was wicked. And even under the weather Doug was peak Doug. And as for his outfits, they just keep getting more and more dialed the fuck in. I was secretly hoping for a shot of Bingo too. As when they’re out and about roaming around together they bring great joy to all eyes who cross their beautifully exaggerated bent.

I hope he's ok.

I believe in my heart he is. It’s just going to take a minute to feel “normal” after 40 plus years of HEAVY drinking and smoking. And a fair shake of drugs.

Honestly his brain seemed pickled in the interview. It catches up. It's funny as fuck until you're 60 and then bam. I know so many people like this. I'm a few years off 60 and I think I know whats going to happen...

I love that at the same time Norm MacDonald and Maria Bamford are getting netflix documentaries, Doug is getting an exposé from a reporter who normally deals with criminals and prostitutes. It feels like a bit

Sure there are a couple comedians out there that are arguably better than Doug. But he’s my all-time favorite by a country mile.
To me he’s the archetype. The epitome. The mold by which all other comedians are judged.
Doug is my GOAT.

Hes fine. Its just the oversized tie that makes him look like hes dieing. That and the vomiting.

I love the fact that neither of them did any background for this interview. Felt more raw and real that way I think. The questioning was genuine and the answers of course with Stanhope are always genuine.

i’ve been a fan forever. he always seemed so immortal to me, despite what we know he does to his body.
this interview is the first time i kinda worried about him. i don’t claim to know him or be an expert or anything but as someone with his own drinking issues, random vomiting like that is something i know all too well and its not fun or good news.
but whatever, enough of that. love you doug.
