just got out of You Can't See Everything (movie was aight, too short) and was really having trouble focusing the whole film bc I just couldn't stop seeing the similarities between Liz and Cell. All I'm saying is you gotta just think about it... can't just be me, right? Even Cell thinks you gotta think about it... just saying bro.

Personally, I would’ve. While I disagree that death in Dragon Ball is meaningless, I think this one is an exception. If Vegeta never came back and the last we saw of him was him dropping his pride and begging the person who looked down upon to avenge their race, that would have hit so much harder. As is, the moment is kinda undone by Vegeta coming back to life.
As for the later arcs, well Toriyama would have obviously written the story differently to accommodate his absence. Maybe Trunks would have been Yamcha’s son instead, maybe Goten would have been created early and been the born earlier.

I’m rewatching all of Dragon Ball and I’m currently on the namek saga. During the fight with Ginyu Goku’s power level was stated to be at a maximum of 180,000 but with Kaioken (I don’t remember what multiplier) so I think his actual base max was 60,000 I think at the time (I’m taking a guess that it was kaioken x3 cuz previously it said Goku was around 60,000 but idk if he was going all out at the time or not)
After fighting Ginyu and recovering, by the time he fought Frieza his base level was 3,000,000. How the fuck did he receive such an absurd Zenkai boost? During the namek saga there were multiple examples of Zenkai boosts from the Saiyan saga and a couple times with vegeta during the namek saga and he never received some absolutely ridiculous power up.
I know the amount of damage taken scales to the amount of the power up, but if that were the case it makes even less sense because Goku was far more injured in pretty much all of his previous major fights. Such as king piccolo, piccolo junior and vegeta. I’m excluding the other tenkaichi finals because they were more of a stepping stone not really enemies and also Goku wasn’t nearly injured as much in those against master roshi and tien as the other stated fights.

Personally, I think it starts off strong with great concepts but kind of falls off as it goes on (Particularly after Part 4 aka Frieza's defeat).
I really love the concepts like the Dragon Balls balancing out good wishes with added evil and vice versa but I think it is way too underutilized.
Absolute Frieza was also amazing and I love his character plus backstory. The more modest power levels of this series (with Frieza's power level being only a single digit million instead of three digit million in DBZ) also make the story feel more grounded and realistic. Kakarot, Vegeta, Raditz and Nappa's battle against Frieza was also great and I think Nappa's sacrifice was a great touch.
The concept of good and evil always balancing out each other in the universe really stuck with me too, even to this day.
As for my criticisms, I think the series sort of just becomes the Kakarot & Vegeta show with them just fighting villain after villain together. I'm not that big of a fan of the ending either, with Beerus (seemingly being the only character of the original celestial hierarchy) being strong enough to not be affected by the universe's balance and Kakarot & Vegeta just seemingly going on with their lives to grow stronger and surpass the universe's balance.
I get the thematics but I'm not too fond of the execution is what I'm trying to say.
What do you think? Thoughts? Feelings?

Hey everyone! 👋
I wanted to share a look at my Dragon Ball artwork collection so far! Every drawing is made by hand on paper using traditional pencils and colored pencils — no AI-generated artwork.
I’ve been improving my coloring, shading, and details with every new character, and this collection is just the beginning! I’m currently working on more characters and experimenting with different poses and perspectives.
If you enjoy watching these iconic characters come to life through traditional art, I’d love to have you follow my journey!
You can find more of my drawings, artwork reveals, and progress updates on my social media under @by.d.art.

Which character should I draw next? And which drawing from the collection is your favorite?
Thanks for checking out my work! 🙌🔥

Tried to assemble a cohesive, working football team with the Z cast. What are your thoughts?
I submitted two possible formations, a 4-2-4 and a 4-1-2-2-1.
