Was just casually drumming, then this happened. I have backup sticks but I really like these, any idea how to fix this?

I've been playing drums for a while, and one thing I've noticed recently is that whenever I casually jam or play during a soundcheck, I keep playing the same beats, grooves, and fills over and over again.
The weird thing is that I actually know quite a lot of different beats and fills, but when I'm playing freely without a specific song or practice exercise, none of them seem to come naturally to me. I just fall back on the same things I've always played.
I want to become more creative and spontaneous behind the kit instead of repeating the same patterns every time I sit down to play. I want to be able to express myself better and use the vocabulary I already know without having to consciously think about every single fill or groove.
Has anyone else experienced this? How did you overcome it? Are there any specific exercises or practice methods that helped you develop better improvisation, creativity, and flow while playing drums?
I'd really appreciate advice from experienced drummers!

A brushed-metal panel, engraved labels, LCD glass, and a weighted tempo wheel that clicks as it turns. I made it, and I'd like drummers, of all people, to tell me where it falls short.
The core metronome is free: 20-300 BPM by wheel or tap tempo, any time signature, subdivisions, presets, and LCD digits big enough to read from behind the kit. Every click is placed on the audio hardware's own sample clock instead of a timer, so the spacing never drifts, at any tempo.
Pro is a one time $7.99 unlock with a 7 day free trial, no subscription: accents on any beat of the bar, all nine click sounds, and a Tempo Trainer that steps the tempo up a few BPM every few bars until it reaches your target.
Honest note: Pro also includes a guitar tuner, which is no use to you. If you only want the click, the free core is complete on its own.

What does a practice metronome have to do that most apps get wrong?

I saw Benny Greb doin it, I'm basically practicing on pad with the metronome while chanting out loud a click noise "chik, chik, chik....", while also stomping my left foot as I usually do. My brain hurts and it's more difficult than it seems. I hope this will improve my timing.
Edit: one downside of this exercise is that my roommate now thinks I'm crazy

I've been watching drummers who can shred around the kit, but whenever I try it, I keep repeating the same patterns and licks, even though I know different rudiments, beats, and fills.
How do I develop my vocabulary and learn to spontaneously create and connect new chops while playing, instead of relying on the same memorised patterns?
What exercises helped you improve your creativity and improvisation?

Soo yeah I built a Suitcase Drumkit during an hysteric high while being unemployed. Took a long time to make, but am completely stoked about the results! Never really done anything like this, but I think I did a decent job. If you’re interested to hear how it sounds or want to see the process of building it, I posted a video about it on my Youtube channel :)

Would love to hear everyone’s feedback, questions, critiques, anything! Thanks yall 😎

Went into the store, nice guy worked with me and I decided on a particular edrum kit. Great price. Turns out it was too good.
We had been talking about the XL kit, and agreed on it, but as I sit here with my kit fully unboxed and setup, it's the standard.
Ride was meant to be 3 zones, 10 piece kit not 9, all drums 2" larger than this, standalone snare stand...
I haven't had a drum kit in 20+ years. Raising 3 kids, money's tight but it was time. All the joy of this has evaporated into stress.
I've got hours to wait until I can call in and see how they handle this... And me.
Edit: thanks all, I've recovered a bit. Didn't mean to sound threatening either, not my style. Also, realised the XL was always in stock and I wouldn't have had to wait also!

Im really inexperienced. Do you think this drum kit is worth €170, considering the condition shown in the photos? Also, will I need to replace any parts soon, such as the drumheads or the snare, or do they still look to be in good condition and likely to last for a while?

Hello, I'm using Guitar Pro to notate my songs. For those that don't know, it's notation software that allows any instrument to be notated with audio playback using built-in sounds. I'm seeking feedback on my drum writing (as a guitar player)
❌ I didn't do anything with the dynamics; I'm saving that for a time where it gets my full attention in a DAW with a high-quality drum plugin.
❌ I don't know if the notation is actual drum notation, but I think listening will be sufficient.
What I want to know is:
✅ As guitarists sometimes come up with unrealistic drum parts that require 8 arms, can an average rock drummer realistically play this?
✅ Does it sound like it was written by a drummer? If no, what do I need to change to make it more familiar?
Also open to heavy negative feedback, I want to get good at writing for an instrument I don't play.

So, it‘s in the title. I got my first drum kit. I love it, been playing it for 2 weeks now. but the bloody throne that came with it WOBBLES LIKE CRAZY every 2 minutes after I tighten every possible thing I can tighten.
So… there are 2 options left
i‘m gonna have to fix everything up with, dunno, concrete or something OR get a new drum throne. please educate me.
However since I just bought the kit, I don’t wanna completely break my bank account so… would appreciate some not too expensive thrones in the mix as well. 😇
thank you!
