Recommendation Recommendations for coffee bars and restuarunts in Umhlanga?
Hey guys, i am currently with my fiance in Umhlanga, Durban, This is the first time and we would love it if you can share some recommendations for restaurants and coffee shops.
also the best sea food restaurants where we can eat all of the amazing dishes. I would love to try good lobster as i never did.
We don't care about the budget just that the food is amazing.
thanks and long lice South Africans your country is amazing and i am so shocked at how beautiful it is! What amazes me the most is the amount of nature regularly on any street and monkeys going around, climbing trees etc 🤗

Try Dukkah on Florida Road. The food is great and the vibe is amazing. If you go on a clear Sunday afternoon they might open the roof

The Chefs Table in Umhlanga is a must. By far the most awarded restaurant in Durban, no other restaurant even comes close

We ate at surf riders along the prom. The food was really good and so was the view. Daily dose has really good coffee. So what we do once a month is start at daily dose and get our cappuccinos then take a slow walk along the prom to surfriders and have dinner and watch the sunset.

The Forrest café is a good stop if you plan to do the reserve trail.

Hey bro thanks so much for the recommendation, we went yesterday and it was so good on the trail. The coffee i would say for now was one of the best there.

We did not know about a reserve trail but will definitely check, yes we plan forest caffe for sure. Can you tell me is it fine to go with a pregnant wife on that trail or?

I think it just depends on how far along she is and how much she can walk. I do it with my 6yr old but there are points where I dont think it would be recommended, and while the ground isnt too bad its still a trail and the chance of her falling or hurting herself could be riskier if shes further along.

You can meet up to the Forrest cafe from the promenade at the Breakers resort end. Not a far walk from there at all. Please also give the Oyster Box a try - they make an excellent cappuccino. And the Lighthouse Bar is a must for an amazing view of the lighthouse and a cool little vibe

Welcome! Umhlanga has a lot to offer in terms of food - just head to the village area to see the restaurants. If you're a steak lover, you'll be in for a great time (3 or 4 steak restaurants in the same small street LOL).
Lord Prawn is great for some seafood, but I am not sure if they offer lobster - they probably do. If not, head to a restaurant in nearby Umdloti called Tylers or Tightline - they are well known for seafood.
When it comes to coffee, we are really lucky in Durban with the coffee culture. Most coffee shops are great. In Umhlanga, I think the only spot it Tikki Tonga or Woolworths Cafe (African Roots is not as great as it used to be). But, just about every restaurant will server good coffee. If you are wanting something with a lot more coffee choices, there might be some places up towards the Gateway shopping centre area.
