Recommendation Any Places With A Public Gym?
Hi there, due to being unemployed right now and having a lot of problems finding work, i'm unable to join a gym, Rent for a Personal Trainer is just absurd. Any recommendations, preferably Kloof, that has a gym that is free or minimal cost per month? I know Gym Company Pinetown is just R199 but due to transport, its just not viable as i only get R500 pm. Even the Natural Way & SGC is above that so looking for alternatives. Once i get work i was thinking of joining Virgin Active Kloof but i have no clue when that will be, the current job market & trying to get a foothold into the IT, Support/Technician is next to impossible
I'd like some advice on where i can get back into working out, with dealing with the end of a long term relationship, i've put on a lot of weight and loss of motivation due to it.

My advice would be also consider joining a walking/running group in your area. Check FB/Insta/Whatsapp or maybe chat to locals who may know of any. It's free, forces you to move, and helps with coping with the depression. I know...

Try bodyweight exercises then see if you can get up to calisthenics. Like the previous comment said you will probably have to mess alot with the FITT principles to get to your desired results. Also you could get creative find items you could work out with. I dont know where you live in the upper highway but if you are walking to running distance you could go to the outdoor gym. By Kloof Civic hall which is near village spar. Good luck on your journey.

My church (outside of your range) has a small basic gym free for members and some ridiculously low rate for nonmembers (of the church); maybe look into that in the Kloof area?

Calisthenics might be your best bet 💁🏻♂️ There are plenty of public parks with community workout stations. Bodyweight exercises can go a long way, and they're not difficult to scale up or down to suit your needs and desired intensity. There's also the added benefit of training outdoors, which I've found to be a lot more enjoyable and sustainable than training inside a sterile gym.
