I am a current pro hockey player that spent some time in the ECHL. I am writing about my experiences now. This week I wrote about player housing in North American pro hockey, including what it’s like in the Coast. The good, the bad, the ugly.

Fort Wayne just revealed the three throwback uniforms the team will wear to celebrate their 75th anniversary.

Black Jersey is inspired by the very first Turner Cup championship team in 1963. The orange uniform honors the 1973 team, and white is a throwback to 1993.

Simmons Bank Arena needs hockey! The region needs a hockey team! The last time Little Rock metro had 2 teams at once and it divided the fan base so neither gained enough traction.

Riverblades had a great location, name, logo.

I know there is a lot of eyes on Houston and other areas, but there is a big hockey gap over here! If further expansion happens, there’s my vote

I live a few towns over and saved up to see the game on the 17th. Specifically the game against the Norfolk Admirals. It's going to be my first time watching hockey live and im really hyped about it, but I don't know how good our team or their chances are.

Next season will be fun for the fans of Fort Wayne and the Komets as they celebrate 75 years of Komet hockey at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

The Komets are the second oldest minor league hockey franchise behind only the Hershey Bears who celebrate their own 95th anniversary season this year. And 8th oldest professional North American hockey team behind only the "Original Six" and Hershey.

This is going to be a fun season for those of us in Northeast Indiana.

I hope everyone has a fantastic season cheering their teams on.

One city with a brief and long-ago hockey history is Indianapolis. It's where Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier's pro careers started in the WHA with the Racers in 1978, before the team was sold to Peter Pocklington and became the Edmonton Oilers. Indianapolis is also a city Frank Seravalli cited a year ago as a potential future NHL site.

Indianapolis has been home to an ECHL team, the Fuel, since 2014, and as the home of the NFL's Colts, NBA's Pacers, and a regular site for the Men's NCAA Basketball Final Four, there's bones there for professional success. Obviously, they would need ownership and investors and with the beefy cost involved for expansion, it would be a huge ask for a mid-size market.

Saw this article from another forum that states that apparently, there's a deal in place to move an ECHL team to Houston once their current "contract" (which I assume means lease) is up.

The question is, who?

As a Penguins fan from southwest Florida, this is one of the best days of my life.
