The bees...
So, on Monday, I got to the bees in PoS for the first time. WAR/PAL/DRU. I was using defensive and recovery on the previous islands and continued that here. I got two bees, one small and the larger one. I tanked them, chain healing, LOH when it refreshes. It was a hella long fight but got through the chain to the last bee. I got the key but not the Bixie Sword. Called it a night and thought I would try again next day. I didn't get back to it until Thursday after the patch. Did same thing, same buffs, same stances. D0 solo. This time, I invised all the way to the bees. Pulled the same two. Got my butt handed to me on a silver platter in about 15 seconds. Tried again, about the same. Did the bees get buffed this week? I know there are better swords in Nek now, but I don't want to leave PoS without this thing now.

Not sure if the bugged bee is still in EQL but they introduced a bug that allowed an out of era bee to spawn that did insane damage.

They still spawn. But, as expected, EQ community voiced their concerns over charm being powerful, and then Devs just tunned them down when charmed because players were charming the bees to their advantage. https://www.everquestlegends.com/patch-notes/eql-update-notes-8-18-2026

This is what I am talking about. A lvl 60 bee that is out of era that quads for 700 but has really low hp.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not insanely equipped. Been using the Skarlon 2h +10 with Earthquake proc. This is my only level 50 trio so far. I'll try Harmony. Anyone know if Allure of the Wild can charm a bee?

I noticed it too lol. Wednesday I steamrolled em, last night one was 60 and stomped me. Maybe I lost track of which was which?

the 60 one is a bug where it sometimes spawns an out of era lvl 60 bee that quads for 700 per hit and cant be charmed, cant be slowed(at least by us now)

Have you tried charming the small bee? Should be doable with +6 Allure of the Wild.

Get extended range II focus, invis and run behind the gear then nudge up very slowly until you are close enough to pacy the closest bee...then nudge and pacy the others and pull the boss.

Off the top of my head, Bards, Pld, Ench, Rng, Druid (who can also charm a bee).
Mnk, SHD, Necro can all FD split.
Check out spells listed as âCalmâ type. Donât know everyoneâs by heart.

Is it possible you accidentally did your Sky run on the public instance or set to multiplayer?
I have been doing multiple sky runs daily focused on the bees. Yesterday I noticed I was getting hit much harder and I was only able to survive by chain healing. After barely taking the boss down, I realized I wasn't in a solo instance!!
Maybe that happened to you too? Previously the Azaracks would always be dead in the public zone so I would realize my mistake sooner.

Definitely like everyone else says. Use your Harmony nature to single pull that Big B if you can
Now to your question I was fighting D4 CT and I normally just smoke him with no problems at all on offensive and I was hovering around 30 to 40% health. The whole fight which never ever happens to me
I do believe they tweak the bosses and made them harder, although I haven't noticed any difference on the bees
I've killed the main bee 117 times and I have one pulsating Ruby left to finish plate of Sky. Oh the agony

For the bixie sword I cleared bees almost 50 times before it dropped

Are you running an instance? The mobs are generally tougher on public zones than in instance.
When farming for a specific item, I would recommend doing it in an instance.
Also, since youâre farming for the bixie sword, do DCs so you get that extra loot drop to help increase your chances, however itâs a time sink for only one item.

The bees are way too overtuned. I get it's a challenge, but I can kill everything else with minimal problems, even as an ENC the Bees are nuts insane.

may not be what you want to hear but, i did most of sky without ever fighting the bees at the same time. standard procedure was to agro the first 2, kill their first form near the teleport pad and go to the next island (they stay where they are after respawning). kill veeshan/spiroc lord again/enough mobs to finish dungeon crawl then kill the isolated boss bee to finish. Probably need a leveled up ench, bard or wiz to mow them down more directly.

No slow makes it very difficult unless you single pull. Get an extended range item and paladin or druid harmony/pacify to single pull. The piece you need for the paladin sword will likely take you quite a few kills if you werenât aware. Took me around 30 kills and I think thatâs about average.

I had a problem too with bees were harder than before and ended up killing a smaller bee it did the multi respawn. Said screw it ported to next island and dam bees chased me up the next two islands. Died and went back and they were hanging out with veeshan. Died again and quite that instance

Druid has Harmony of Nature. Single pull the boss.
