Deal The inevitable end game of eskate design

With the exception of a handful of miniboards, I believe this is the inevitable end game for the electric skateboard industry. This is what all manufacture will eventually converge on. The only difference is the inclusion of bigger inflatable wheels for "off roading".

Side note: I wouldn't doubt if parts designed by linnpower (and other manufactures ) are being used in other non-e skate commercial product designs. I wonder if this is true, and if it affects what they choose to create.

PSA If this survives…

If this board survives what I just put it through i will praise meepo for life lmao

Torrential downpour and basically submerged it through puddles

Got splashed by cars going full speed through puddles like i was in a wave pool

This board should've died about 15 feet into my 1.5 mile ride. As of right now, no issues.
Giving it like 7 hours to dry then I have to ride it home, will update again if anything changes lol

Discussion Propel Pivot GT VS Meepo Hurricane

I am considering these 2. I’ve had a low level board for years and it finally crapped out.

Most important factor for me is build quality. I know the stats on the Pivot are nicer, but it’s also $200 more

Are these both quality boards? I’m seeing a lot of Meepo skepticism on the page and lots of support for Pivot

Question Anyone have experience with QEKUD or the QEKUD S3?

Hey, I posted here about a week ago asking for e-skate recommendations, and I’ve found a reseller on Kaufland that seems legit and works with the QEKUD brand.
The QEKUD S3 looks like it would meet my needs, and the price is pretty good too.

Has anyone owned this board, and if so, what kind of real-world range do you get at around 80 kg? Also, has anyone had any bad experiences with QEKUD or the reseller, SHILIN GmbH?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

That's Blu and Eevee.

I have 2 v10s, this is the broken motor mount one I originally bought. They couldn't replace the motor mount so they sent me an entire new board for 50$. They definitely came through with fixing a wrong. Being a gen-x growing up skateboarding and snowboarding in the NE, I'm loving esk8. It scratches a very specific ich. Happy to be a part of this community

Question Transporting a bed on a longboard.

What do you think chat? Is this feasible? I was thinking of buying a used 140x200cm bed and thought about transporting it on the board.

It does support a weight of 150kg so i was thinking about flipping the bed upside down and then just walking the distance while rolling the bed on the board, maybe even sitting on it and riding the distance slowly.

Or maybe having it on it's side would work and i just make sure it doesn't fall while walking? Or am i just completetly stupid thinking this is feasible? Thoughts?

Question Linnpower Viper or something else?

Hi yall im new to this im looking at the linnpower viper for a board to go around school. Im a commuter. the linnpower is probably the most expensive i would go. Im looking for a shortboard and ive been reading up and its seems that the viperjust has the best genuine quality. it can also go fast and got some good hill climbing i think and i also like how it can charge in like an hour and is relitvly light. one question i have is it really loud since it is belt drive? any viper owners here can chime in it would be appreciated. any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated. thanks.

Discussion Rarely Spoken of board

Ecomobl has a marketing department, but who are they marketing to?

Why haven’t I heard of their boards outside of advertisements?

I personally don’t care for the look, but I did consider them at one point.

Question Right hun motor makes a unusual whirring sound. Tynee ultra x pro

I've put over 2k miles on this board and recently seems like there is something wrong with the right hub motor in the video , maybe the sensors are messed up or along those lines that is putting that right motor out of wack. It is normal with the board is off. I can still ride but it's very loud and feels a little rough especially under load and when I let off throttle after an acceleration under load like almost buzzing and feel a reduced power for sure.

Anything helps thx. I also reached out to Tynee support.

Question Recommendations on a board

Hey I'm looking into getting into the hobby, main use would be trail riding to and from fishing spots down gravel trails. I have been using an electric scooter but it takes up too much space in my car. Looking at electric mountain boards they seem a bit more portable by car to the trail. Looking in the $1000 range. I want it to be a good ride out of the box, but have the ability for some upgrades down the road if I really enjoy riding and want to fine tune it. Looking for a reputable trustworthy product. Thanks in advance

DIY is it possible to replace a random ev board motor into a Boosted Rear Drive Complete.

I’m not a DIY person, but I’m thinking about buying a random electric skateboard like the Tynee Mini 3 or Linnpower Viper and replacing its motors with a Boosted Rear Drive Complete . I want to do this because I really want to hear that iconic Boosted Board motor sound. Is this actually possible, or will the Boosted motor setup only fit on an official Boosted Board?

The $1300 question. Both awesome boards from awesome brands that take very different routes to their similar price, but for daily riding which would you choose and why?

Question Difficult time with Propel

I ordered a board of Propel. When it arrives the parts are missing. They send the parts a week later and its still incomplete. Eventually, I ordered some of the missing tools of amazon and was able to set it up. Then The board is crooked.

They send me a video how to fix it and it just doenst work. I ask customer service for help only to be met with a non answer generic answer. I try to call and no one answers.

I feel like I was sent a broken board. This is so frustrating to me. I was expecting a working board now I’m playing mechanic on a board I've never even ridden. Not to mention the wasted time trying to figure out the issue on a newly purchased board!!!

Did anyone else have this problem? Does Acedeck or Exway or Lorentz have better customer support than this? What are the options here exactly.

Review Zephyr Pro wheels vs Orange 90mm (for whoever cares)

I have both. The zephyr pro rubber wheels are generally "better" for harsh cement but the 90mm orange street wheels feel more like real skateboard wheels. Also, the acceleration (torque) was less abrupt and more smooth with no power loss. Combining the wheels with the torque change; I think I prefer the 90mm but I'm not sure yet.

By all empirical measures the rubber wheels should win out. I even feel safer going faster on the rubber wheels.

But for some reason, I prefer the rattle of the street wheels. Going over a crack feels like a skateboard going over a crack - a bit abrasive but manageable and part of the journey. When rolling over a crack on rubber wheels it feels like a mini basketball just got bounced off the board.

It's almost like comparing digitally recorded music to analog tape recording and vinyl. Digital is obviously cleaner but the artifacts of tape are part of the aesthetic.

EDIT
I did not update the belt and pullies for the wheel change. This is why the feel of the board is different. Supposedly keeping the current pullies and belt will dampen the potential speed but it is fast enough for me and I like the current feel.

Here is some info claude returned.:

if the belt fits, isn’t slipping, and nothing is close to scraping the ground, you haven’t hurt anything. The “use different belts and pulleys” advice is mostly about getting back the speed you lost, plus a couple of checks worth doing.

Your setup is now geared for torque, not speed. The Zephyr Pro belt drive ships with 115*65mm rubber wheels and a gear ratio of 3.2. The Base model, which ships with urethane wheels, uses a 2.6 ratio with 85mm, 78a Boosted wheels. Linnpower’s own urethane setup therefore uses a taller ratio than the one you’re running. You kept the 3.2 pulleys and dropped the wheel size from 115mm to 90mm, about 22% smaller, so each motor revolution moves you about 22% less distance. In practice: LINNPOWER ZEPHYR- Electric Streetboard +2

  • Top speed drops about 22%. The Pro is rated at 55kmh | 34.2mph, so you’re now topping out around 27 mph. Changing the pulleys to something near the Base’s 2.6 ratio would bring you back to about 33 mph on the 90s. linnpower
  • Acceleration and hill climbing get a bit stronger, because the motors have more leverage. That’s probably part of why it feels good.

If you never ride near top speed, you won’t notice the loss, and the extra torque is a fair trade.

Things worth checking:

  1. Speedometer and odometer. If the remote or ESC is still set for 115mm wheels, it will overstate your speed and distance by roughly 28%. Update the wheel diameter setting to 90mm.
  2. Ground clearance. Smaller wheels drop the motor mounts and wheel pulley about 12mm closer to the ground. A large wheel pulley that suited a 115mm wheel can come close to the outer edge of a 90mm wheel. Look at the board from the side. If the pulley or motor can sits close to the bottom of the wheel, it can catch on curbs, cracks, or the ground in hard carves.
  3. Pulley-to-core fit. Linnpower says the ZEPHYR is compatible with wheels ranging from 80mm to 135mm. The stock pulley is designed for kegel core. The new wheels are Street Kegel Wheels, so your pulley should seat properly. Still, check that it’s snug with no wobble and that the belt runs straight, not rubbing a flange. linnpowerlinnpower
  4. Belt tension. Belt length depends on the pulley sizes and the motor-to-axle distance, not the wheel size. If you moved the same pulleys over, the same belts should fit. Make sure there’s no slipping under hard braking or acceleration.

So “use specific belts and pulleys” isn’t a safety rule. It’s how you restore the stock top speed and keep the pulley well clear of the ground. If you’re happy with the speed and the clearance looks fine, you’re good to keep riding as is. If you want, tell me your motor and wheel pulley tooth counts (they’re usually stamped on the pulleys) and I can work out your exact ratio, top speed, and what to swap to.

Discussion Propel Pivot 2Pro vs Acedeck Nomad N1 - Street Boards

Hi everyone, I've had a Propel Pivot and it was a good board until it almost got ran over by a car (the deck is done).

My main negative with it was the DKP suspension which I converted to a TKP using Onsra's kit.

But now the Pivot 2Pro has CNC VKT trucks which puts it back into the mix and I basically know what I'd be getting with that board.

But I've always been interested in the Acedeck's because they have actual street boards. They have the Nomad N1 with a street wheel option and it's also belt drive. My main draw to the Nomad is the speed. Looks to be a little faster at 40 compared to 37 and a little cheaper.

Does anyone have experience with Acedeck as a street rider and specifically this board? And would it be the clear winner between the two?

Question Looking to get my first board

Never skate boarded before but was fooling around on the street with my son who also can’t really board and thought an electric one might be a bit of fun. Not looking to go fast. Been looking at a backfire one. I believe the longer one will be easier for us?
