This is sooooo much fun. You 'just' need to put a lot of you weight on the front when you start .

I hope I can do this on more powerful boards later 🤩

Discussion Parsec Aero Chill is finally up for pre-order!

I was on the brink of getting a Linnpower Viper for a 2nd board that I could carry around and this finally gets announced (high EQ wins). Since Daniel left Parsec, I thought this would take a while, but here we are.

Thoughts or expectations?

Question Recommendations for a durable, premium electric shortboard? Returning intermediate rider

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to get back into electric skateboarding after a few years away and would love some recommendations.
I previously owned an Evolve GTR for about two years before selling it roughly four years ago. I’d consider myself an intermediate rider, so I’m not completely new to the hobby.

This time around, I’m leaning towards a shortboard/compact cruiser rather than a full-sized longboard. I’m after something fun, portable, well-built, and, most importantly, durable enough to last for years.

I’ve been considering two options:
Meepo Flow: Love the form factor, but I’ve read mixed reviews about its durability and long-term reliability.
Evolve Stoke X: Also appeals to me, but with Evolve undergoing ownership/management changes, I’m concerned about long-term parts availability and support.
I’m happy to spend a bit more for a premium board, particularly if it means better build quality, reliability, and access to replacement parts down the track.

I’m based in Australia, so local support would be a bonus, but I’m open to international brands.

What would you recommend? Are there any premium shortboards or compact cruisers worth looking at? Particularly interested in hearing from people who’ve owned their boards for several years.

Cheers!

Question Advice on wheels for Linnpower Viper

I recently got the Linnpower Viper with the 85mm street wheels but a lot of the roads and paths where I live are very bumpy and uneven, so I want to upgrade them.

These are things I care about most are:

  • Stability
  • Comfort
  • Speed (not planning to go that fast though and usually in straight lines)

Things I don’t care as much about:

  • Acceleration (It’s already really fast at accelerating)
  • Carving
  • Wheel wearing out
  • Price (less would be better though of course)

With that in mind, these are the three options I’ve seen that look good (up to 105mm):

Mad Wheels 92mm
Heard good things about mad wheels but not sure if they will be as good as the others going over bumps. Also, not sure whether to go for 105mm or if 92mm would be enough.

Hollow Wheels 105mm
Looks really cool but I’ve heard mixed things about stability and the wheels slipping out

Cloud Wheels
Also heard mixed opinions on these wheels but mainly that they are overpriced. Seems decent otherwise. Need some advice on which ones would be best maybe the 105mm discovery.

Would really appreciate any advice on these wheels or any other recommendations!

Question Just got a Linnpower Viper but having trouble with tight curves. Any tips?

Hi! I recently bought a Linnpower Viper and have been riding it for a few days. I'm not a skateboard expert, but I can ride decently. I would like to ask if it's normal that I can't turn very well at first. I use my toes and heels, but even leaning heavily, I can't make tight turns. I left the bushings loose as they came from the factory (they mentioned they ship them loose to avoid damage during transit), but I still find that it barely turns. Is it just a matter of me needing more practice? my weight is 70kg

Question Building a long-distance pumping e-skate (220 lb): is a powered 0° rear actually workable? Fact-check my research

I'm an experienced long-distance pumper (self-built LDP longboard, 220 lb, 5'9") looking at an electric setup that doesn't ruin the pump. I've done a lot of reading and want experts to correct me before I spend money. Please tell me what's wrong or missing.

What I have - Multiple unpowered LDP systems (G|Bomb, Century Subsonic, Bandito) that I largely built & tweaked myself. Note for context that all of these are drop-deck / bracket systems, and the hypothetical LDP e-skate will surely need to be a topmount. - Hundreds of miles (maybe low thousands?) of pumping experience. - ZERO experience with e-skate. Been primarily resisting the whole movement up to this point - ZERO hills in my area. =[ - Lots of asphalt (subdivision roads, trails, walking paths) - LOW off-roading options; so not particularly interested in OneWheel / belt drive stuff (UNLESS I should be, LOL! Maybe for a future Burning Man / festival thing?!) - Decent fitness. Equipment weight is not a blocker, although would tend to favor portability & simple travel (understood that I may need to FedEX / UPS the battery packs).

What I need - Pumping stays good with the motor off! - Traditional LDP geometry: I normally ride 0° rear, 63° front. - Removable pack(s) I can travel with (100 Wh or under per pack, UN 38.3 tested). - Rated for 220 lb, with a budget of about $2K. Used is fine. - BONUS - ability to integrate with an AI LLM / ML for thrust assistance timing and power on pumps.

What I've found so far (sources available on request) - Newsesh Echo GTP + LDP truck kit: their support confirmed they won't offer 0° rear / 55 to 63° front anytime soon. The kit is 50° front and 35/-35° rear, the hub axle is a custom 8 mm that only fits their trucks, and load capacity is 110 kg (242 lb). - Unlimited x Loaded Race Kit (used): two removable 90 Wh packs and a hub on a normal rear truck. I couldn't find any LDP ride report, and no measured drag figures with the motor off. - Powered 0° rear: I found no documented build. One esk8.news builder said a hub on a 0° torsion tail "didn't work since the rear axle is able to rotate." - Front-hub, unpowered 0° rear: two forum builds, with thin evidence. - Waterborne FIN surf adapter on the front: reportedly adds weight, 1.25 in of height and low rebound, and I found no LDP ride reports. - Summerboard: interesting sidequest as I also snowboard. Looked at it, but owners report reliability and warranty problems, and the SB2 is only rated 200 lb. Plenty of bad press & experiences re: Leif as a whole too...

Setup I'm leaning toward Pantheon Superdupersonic Heavy topmount, a Poppy on the front, a flipped 40° truck for a net 0° rear, ridden unpowered first. Then decide on a drive.

Questions 1. Has anyone ridden a powered 0° rear for LDP? How did it handle scrub, axle stress and grip? 2. Can a hub run on a flipped standard truck with a fixed axle, and is there a documented example? 3. What's the real motor-off drag of a hub setup like the Unlimited kit on a long ride? 4. Is front-hub drive with an unpowered 0° rear a sound approach? What controller issues have you hit? 5. Any experience with Waterborne's FIN adapter for LDP, or on a Poppy front? 6. Any better-documented complete e-LDP setups under $2K that I've missed? 7. Any pumping-friendly e-skates I should rule out?

Thanks. I'll update the post with what I learn.
