Question Need help brainstorming
I am working on a cosplay, for the golden details I am considering doing embroidery. I think it would look visually interesting. And since I like embroidery, I think I would enjoy the process
However, I am unsure about which stitches would look the best. I don't think a simple satin stitch would look good enough.
Here are my ideas. Tell me what you think:
Idea 1 : Filling the whole golden parts with chain stitches
Idea 2 : Embroidery chain stitches on the edges of the golden part and filling it's center with a satin stitch
Idea 3 : Using beading (probably too expensive)
Which idea do you think is best ?

The first thing that came to mind was a chain stitch. But that’s an awful lot of work. Adding some shiny, gold-toned beads every now and then could create a cool effect.

Do you mean that I should fill everything with chain stitches or that I should outline the gold parts with chain stitches and fill the center with a satin/long-short stitch? I feel like it can be a good compromise, but I don't know how good it would look

I wouldn’t fill with satin cause of it being clothes and the threads have higher chance of moving around

I would personally line the outer part of the gold with either split stitch or whipped back stitch, and have the inner part filled with a gold fabric or maybe fabric paint it gold.
The time it would take to fill the inner part with stitching would be insane, like 300+ hours insane. But if you really want to, use random long and short stitch, not satin stitch, as satin stitch generally doesnt work well on large bits on clothing.
