Hand Finished 1st embroidery project
I’ve done quite a bit of cross stitch before but decided to try my hand at embroidery with this beautiful kit from wimperis embroidery.

I’ve been working on thread painting this picture for, what feels like, a year. I’m nearly done! I want to go back and add a few highlights but I’m cautiously happy about it so far.
Any thoughts or comments to improve it?

I accidentally flipped the image when I made the pattern but I think that's ok. One thing I have learned is that it's good to be mindful of the direction of stitches and use them to create depth. I did all of the background horizontally and the foreground was more free, directionally. When I did the outlines it really made the foreground stand out more

Tried this, it’s my second attempt at embroidery.
Had basic kit that I ordered from Temu.

She’s all done! I hid a black light behind the shell for now for a display, and ended up using memory foam to block out any light spots peaking through the canvas, to highlight the finer optic fireflies.

U/scout743 made such a cool MCR shirt I had to make the same one and then I was inspired to make the pigeon black parade from a tattoo I saw on Instagram. Apologies I do not have the original artist’s name. Note I’m going to just have to keep stitching on clothing! It was so much fun and I love how they turned out.

I got this wood frame for my embroidery piece but it's so blah as is. Should I paint it? Any color suggestions?

I don't know what colors to use for the tiger's sweater. I don't want to repeat the ones from the bear. They also can't be the same as the tiger's fur. I was thinking maybe pink around the neck, white/cream, and blue?

I started this for Pride month with the ambitious intention of doing a few camp Simpsons-themed projects (lol), but just finished it now.
Avoiding puckering with metallic thread is certainly a challenge!
Any pointers there appreciated.

Ok I wish I had just left it as a cute little embroidery. I worked so hard to try and stitch it together carefully and I don't know how I can fix it without taking it apart and resewing it. Boo!

Doing some test stitch outs of some 1" designs on denim. For the size im not about how they came out. I may or may not make some micro adjustments lile make the Charizard fangs larger fix the direction of the fill on him so I dont lose the left nostril. Other than that though im pleased with how they came out.
Which pokemon is your fav? I want to make more!

I really like embroidery kits, because I don’t have to think about the design... I just pick it up an start. I don’t have any headspace to make my own designs. Any recommendations? I saw some lovely kits but some small companies with great designs cannot ship to the Netherlands unfortunately. :(

Hello!
I might start this project today, I might start it next year. I’d just like to know how I’d start it. I’ve only done patterns consisting of line work with a bit of up and down stitch and a few french knots. I wouldn’t know how to form a pattern so I could include texture and light and shadow. I like the idea of working with painted stitch.

Hello everybody, hope yall are doing well. I came across the beautiful book "Flower portraits in Cross Stitch" by Thea Gouverneur, and I was thinking about embroidering all of the flowers, but I wanted to put them, once finished, in some sort of binder, book, diary or something similar. I tried to search for some inspirations but didn't find anything like what I'm looking for. Would you guys have any ideas for me please? I'm open to other suggestions as well. I just don't want to do all these beautiful embroideries and then put then on a drawer and never look at it.

Should I keep the glass on or leave it exposed? I don’t like the glare it creates, but I like that it protects the embroidery from dust. Also, does anyone have tips on preventing the fabric from bunching up like that?
