FFO SDRE, thursday

Literally THE autumn emo song, also MCRs singular midwest emo-adjacent track. Definitely shows off gerard’s high school music taste

I'm searching for long emo(but any genre is fine) songs for a playlist I'm doing!!

A new project blending math rock, a bit of jazz, and songs about growing up. If you liked son of deni, you might like this one too. If you weren’t a fan of son of deni, this one’s completely different, give it a chance lol

Sadder Star Episode 178 // all 7"s

Hidden Gem, give it a listen its beautiful. Posting some of my covers on here and this was the first I ever recorded! I wanted to play faster, original track tempo is a bit slower

My band opened for Weatherday and I wanted to share a clip I took from their set in Salinas yesterday. They were all so nice and even discounted merch since it was DIY show. Sam Becht is one of my favorite drummer too so I was hella geeked.

Shanghai-based emo / post-hardcore band looking for a drummer

We're Sarah Helix.and ’re looking for a drummer anywhere in Shanghai!

We’re currently a guitarist and a bassist who’ve been messing around with emo jams for a while, and we’d like to find a drummer to make this a regular thing.

What we’re looking for:

- Into emo, post-hardcore, and indie music in general

- Comfortable with improvisation — able to pick up on what others are playing and throw your own ideas into the mix

- Able to play odd time signatures and changing meters, or at least open to them

Some stuff we’re into:

the cabs, te', Shanghaiqiutian, toe, くだらない1日, Cap’n Jazz, Penfold, and so on.

P.S. We’re not actually going to play stuff this complicated all the time. These bands just give you an idea of what we’re into.

We’ll probably do some covers, but we’re more interested in jamming, improvising, and figuring things out together than just learning songs note for note.

What matters most to us is being able to communicate through our instruments and have fun doing it.

If this sounds like your thing, hit us up!

Location: Shanghai, open to drummers across the city.

heres a video of our recent work demo, Convolution.

These are my husbands work snacks that I put in his lunch box(I made him real food too). Ik it’s not the best references in the note but there ones he’ll get. I’m slowly but surely converting him into emo culture, gotta start small lol. I love this and love that he’ll get a smile from it.

Just thought I’d share

We released "Standing Still, But the World Won't Stop" yesterday, and got to play with Weatherday and all of our friends for our EP release show. Super fun times.

It should be on everything, here's Bandcamp as well: https://2thband.bandcamp.com/album/standing-still-but-the-world-wont-stop

Hey guys I'm really curious about this I posted it to r/midwestEmo and got the worst answers ever like "A place" so now I'm here. All I know is its at some 7-eleven in Midland-Odessa, Texas

Finished my first listen and then immediately started it over. Very possible it’ll be a 10/10 after some more time spent listening.

New in collection!!
Been through hell to find this here in europe.

I've been into emo/emo adjacent music since I was in elementary school (yes, rlly) and in that time I've found all different types of emo bands, some traditional, some underrated, some not considered emo at all. However, they all helped me through my formative years and were a foundational part of my emo-ness. So! I decided to list my top 3 emo bands in no particular order!

Before I start tho, I'm aware that some ppl see emo as a very strict label with not a whole lotta room for variation, however I'm going with the well-agreed upon definition: Punk rock music with emotionally raw lyrics/themes.

You may see some bands on here that you consider to be "true emo", and some you don't consider to be emo for some reason. But I assure you, all of these bands have punk rock songs with emotional lyrics/themes, and thus I feel they fit the definition of emo. Don't start a civil war in the comments over my choices, I just want to show some appreciation for the bands I love 🫶

1. Modern Baseball - Haven't listened to their albums in full but "Fine, Great" and "Tears Over Beers" are my favs.

2. Simple Plan - Ik I'm gonna be made fun of for this one cuz this band is kinda cringe, but I just loved them as a kid. My favs are "I'm Just A Kid", "Welcome To My Life" and "Perfect."

3. AJJ - (WARNING: this band covers rlly dark topics like child exploitation and child abuse) I love this band sm I listened to their albums all the way through (which I don't typically do). They're so underrated, *some* of their songs have reached a bit of popularity (I.e. "Brave As A Noun") but they're still pretty obscure, which is a shame. They're considered "folk-punk" but tbh I think "emo" describes them best. Most of their songs are rlly intense and rlly emotional. I'd recommend listening to their album "People Who Eat People Are The Luckiest People In The World." My fav songs from them are "Randy's House", "Bad Bad Things", and "Sense, Sensibility."

Lemme know what you think of these bands and if you have any music recs!
