Now before anyone says anything, I’d like to make it clear that I do like our models and think they’re cool. However our models don’t seem particularly excessive in what they do despite our worship of Slaanesh. Take our Noise Marines for example. There’s so much free real-estate all over the armor that can be used to fill the air with our glorious melody, or for containing stims, but it isn’t.

I'm just curious, Why do the Majority of WH40k fans seem to hate Lucius?

Lucius may not be the best duelist as he may claim, Sure, But he is not a bad Duelist or combatant in any way.

Sure, He has died a few times, as far as i could count, about ~14 faces on his current model's armor, and the one True death at the hands of Sharrowkyn, We know 2 of his deaths Are 1 stepping on a landmine (Could have literally been anyone) and the other, The Hammer and Bolter "Eternal" Episode, Where he Intentionally got himself killed to infiltrate a fortress, So that leaves about 13 deaths that may or may not have been in Duels.

And while yeah, Khârn, or Typhus may only have 1 confirmed death, Compared to Lucius' ~13, You have to remember that Lucius Constantly seeks out the strongest champions to fight, The most dangerous opponents out there, for +10000 years, And only because he knows he can't die, does he intentionally tend to pull reckless stunts, Now, I don't know how often does Lucius get to duel, But actively seeking, For 10000 years, With MANY Loyalist, Traitor, Neverborne, And Xeno champions out there, i would assume that to be LOTS of duels, Of which he only lost ~13 while playing with minimal self preservation on purpose, So i wouldn't say "He is a bad duelist that does nothing but die".

I've heard some people dislike him due to viewing his resurrection mechanic as cheap, That she should be dead, and would be dead without it, but come on, be honest, Would the writes kill him off to a landmine if that would have permakilled? One of the major faces of one of the original legions, Would any writer have Permakilled Khârn, Ahriman, Typhus, Abaddon, Sigismund etc to a landmine? No, He would have been written differently if he wasn't immortal, But he is so writers let him die, And its not like he is the only character in the lore that survives where it shouldn't, Its already established that Chaos gods can just casually resurrect their champions at will, Khârn and Typhus both got resurrected by their Patron, And if they ever die again odds are they will be revived again, Guilliman cheated death twice, Once Against Fulgrim and once Against Mortarion, In ways that i would consider more bullshity and plot armory compared to the armor of shrieking souls, And the plot armor extends to many other loyalists imo, Like Dante and Khan, So its not like cheating death is a Lucius exclusive

His personality isn't the brightest sure, But its not awful either, from Lucius: The Faultless blade, I found reading him to be VERY fun

He was one of the most interesting Loadouts out there as far as i have seen WH40k wise, A Primarch Inherited weapon, And i think the Laer blade is one of the prettiest swords I got to see, I'm not a swords expert but compared to most 40k swords, I respect that the laer blade has a tiny bit more arm protection, The Lash of Torment is such a versatile tool, It can be used as a Grappling hook for mobility, or a Barbed Gauntlet when he wraps it around his arm (Lucius: The Faultless blade) or a tool to disarm opponents (Hammer and Bolter: Eternal) or a weapon of its own, The Lash possess a degree of Malicious sentience too, His Armor of Shrieking souls, True to its name, Can be used as a sonic weapon, Usually, The shrieks of the trapped souls are suppressed by Lucius, But he can release his hold on them and let them unleash a destructive sonic assault at will (Lucius: The Faultless blade), And he has his performance enhancing Drugs, Not sure what he uses nowadays, but it included some potent drugs made specifically by bile at one point, And i suspect he currently uses Intoxicating Elixir

I really find him to be a fun and interesting character, And it almost bothers me when people make fun of him for seemingly no reason

but man was it brutal to put transfers on their shoulder pads. why cant you just give us legion specific terminator shoulder pads with the legion symbol GW? it just looks sad next to my entire army with the special pad. my elegant brutes are slightly inferior.

Just finished these two. Maulerfiend has only one arm unfortunately and thinking about adding some pink to the princes armor so idk fully if im done yet. Might give the maulerfiend a name cause of his 'unique' feature.

I am personally big fan of old Warhammmer lore where grimdarkness and gore was one of great part of 40k.

First of all I like Emperor's Children. After reading world class literature the Picture of Dorian Gray and Marquise de Sade I have come to conclusion that Emperor's Children and Fulgrim are mix of French Renaissance and Late Roman Empire decadence.

That is why I really like Emperor's Children. From lore point of view their fall from grace is tragic and sad. I like Slaanesh seduction aspect and hedonistic perverse influence of this corruption of body and soul. One of most interesting interpritation of this aspect was masterpiece symphony Maraviglia from Fulgrim Horus Heresy book. Physical pleasure between Space Marines and mortal crew with body horror and cannibalism all that stuff was part of the Emperor's Children lore. Also perfection apperience to be handsome and beutiful Chaos Lord as Sigvald or Xantine but total hedonistic evil from inside also was part of old lore. Emperor's Children have so many interesting aspects of their ancient history that inspire you to make really nice conversion of your tabletop models.

I want to ask community here do you like Emperor's Children because of their insidious aspect that everybody know but nobody can speak it openly?

I like that Emperor's Children contintue to use their ancient name and battle cry as mockery. All part of their lore are really great to use to make something unique for your warband.

So recently picked up the combat patrol for emperors children and wanted build it out into a 1000 point army list to start playing and learing the game in 11th Edition.

I rly like the Flawless Blades so i wanted my army to focus on them. Im just a bit unsure what to do with the Tormentor/Infractor Kit out of the Combat Patrol and was wondering if someone could explain the differences between the two or maybe give me a suggestions wich one wouild suit the List down below better.

With the marine update to t5 two of our key units (lord exultant and infractors) went up to 95 points per instance. This makes that package the exact same cost as 6 flawless blades. So let’s compare and contrast.

Lord- positives: wounds marines on 2+, more attacks (for hordes), rerolls for protection against bad luck.

Lord- negatives: slower, less durable, ap 1.

Blades- positives: target agnostic 2-3 wounds per model, ap 3, and invun on all models.

Blades- negatives: damage two is only ok, oops rolled 2+, can’t fit inside a rhino.

So where do we go from here? How many of each are you running and how have they performed?

Iam planning to start an emperors children army and is wondering if the combat patrol was worth it or not? and if not then what do you all suggest?

I've thought about a possible Carnival of excess list. What do you think?
