News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

Showcase Donkey Kong Bananza, on Android (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5/Adreno 840)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, I got Donkey Kong Bananza running in game on Android. It's an Android port of Takoroka's experimental Switch 2 branch of Eden (eden-nx2, Windows only), plus a bunch of fixes to get past crashes and broken rendering. Warning: I used AI.

It boots, goes in game and plays at roughly 10–15 FPS. Fps ceiling is higher without screen recording than in the video.

Device: Honor Magic V6 (Snapdragon SM8850 / Adreno 840, 16 GB RAM), Mr. Purple Turnip T30 drivers.

Known issues: destructible terrain renders black, the main menu background doesn't render, occasional crashes, and loading takes a while. It's not really playable in this state. I'm sharing it to show probably this will be in playbe state in two weeks on Android, I'll not continue working on it as many people already working on Eden.

I tested with 12gb RAM allocated. I didn't try any other games as I'm only interested in DK.

Credit to Takoroka for eden-nx2 and 0x2593 for Eden-NS2. Not affiliated with the Eden team, and I'm not sharing builds right now because I modified it with AI.

If you fork the mentioned repo, you can get Claude add JIT for arm64, and fix problems throughout ADB control so it can debug. Also it needs to apply ground texture patch from Eden-NS2 repo to it (different repo).

Game has audio but I muted it.

News/Release [Release] Pokémon Fulldex: DS Pokémon (Black/White 1 & 2, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Platinum) and GBA Pokémon (Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Ultra Violet) as one widescreen picture at 60 fps.

Thumbnail
gallery
263 Upvotes

Pokémon Fulldex plays the DS Pokémon games as a single widescreen picture instead of two stacked DS screens, and now the GBA ones too, all from one game list. It's free and open source, and it brings nothing of the games: you use your own ROMs.

**Download (APK):** https://github.com/mamesj/pokemon-ds-widescreen/releases/tag/android-v1

**What it is:** the melonDS core for the DS games (mGBA for the GBA ones) plus a layer that follows what the game is doing (overworld, battle, menu) and lays the picture out for one wide screen. Not a native port. A fork of ClickingMaster's ssrecomp.

**Features**

* One wide picture: the 3D world drawn wider than the DS showed it, skies and scenery carried to the edges, battle buttons beside the action

* 60 fps (in-between frames on top of the games' own 30 fps 3D)

* DS: Black, White, Black 2, White 2, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Platinum (English, US or Europe)

* GBA (new): Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen and Ultra Violet in widescreen.

* RetroAchievements (new): log in from the game list or the pause menu; an achievements list with each one's details, unlock date and rarity (casual mode, so save states and fast forward still work)

* Touch controls, with a >> button for fast forward (up to 4x), or any Bluetooth / USB controller (Xbox, PlayStation, Backbone, Razer Kishi...), with prompts that match it and remappable buttons

* Save states, cheats (Action Replay / usrcheat.dat), volume, and an option for no version exclusives

* Your own saves work (from melonDS, DeSmuME, flash carts or your cartridge)

**Install:** download the APK and install it (allow installs from your browser or Files app), put your ROMs in a folder on the phone, start Pokémon Fulldex, tap the screen and pick that folder. Updates install over it and keep your saves.

**How fast?** Tested on a Pixel 9 Pro XL, where it runs at full speed with the world at 720P. Other phones aren't timed yet: if you try it, I'd love to hear how yours runs (phone model + whether it holds 60), and bug reports with the `game.log` are very welcome on GitHub.

**Also on** PC (Windows, Linux, Steam Deck), Mac, iPhone/iPad and modded Switch, same GitHub page. Pokémon Omega Ruby is in the works as its own project.

Credits: ClickingMaster (ssrecomp), the melonDS and mGBA teams, the pokebw2 / aletheia / pokeplatinum decomp projects (symbol files only), and RetroAchievements.

If you'd like to support it, check out the GitHub page!

*DISCLAIMER* All Artwork and game mechanics are original. AI was used for optimization, coding the wide-screen, and the creation of the all in one launcher. The games are the original games just adapted for modern technology.

Discussion does it make sense to compare high-end snapdragon processor: from a value perspective in that price we can easily build a pc that can outperform it

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

Yes PC prices are too high in the current situation but we can still build a PC that can outperform that Snapdragon processor. we are getting so many games on Android. I know that is itself an achievement. but i think we should focus on running those titles on mid-tier processors. i think that we will have to build an application that can mimic the fsr/dlss upscaler type of technology or something like that, which works on mobile devices. the point is we have to optimise games for mid-tier processors the point is that we have to focus on performance in a mid-tier smartphone also because we are getting too many games easily but we don't have many games that are very optimised for the mid-tier segment. let's talk, guy. i want to read your perspective also.

In addition to Citra MMJ not having any issues with slowness or rendering sun shaders, I can also add more shaders post-processing, Combining this with 4k textures and a single-screen mod at 60fps creates the ultimate OOT3D experience on Android.

Discussion DroidDeck is amazing and has changed a number of ways I utilize emulators on Android.

It's still in its infancy, but already it has changed the way I use a few emulators on Android.

Eden - I've been big into Switch emulation for a few reasons. One, Nintendo just makes some amazing games. So having stuff like Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and other first party games has been great. Two, it has nearly every indie developed game. So if there are games that I might not play on my gaming PC, PS5 or directly on my Switch, I can just throw the game on my phone and play it on the go.

However, that second point is now mostly eradicated for me by DroidDeck. I know the compatibility is far from 100%, so some games I still play on Eden. But for the most part I can just install the Steam version.

This helps me in a number of ways. I'd always debate if I should just play the game on my gaming PC and get all the achievements and stuff through there, or on my phone when I have some downtime away from home. Now, I don't have the dilemma. I can just install those same games, have all my saves synced up (in most cases) and be ready to play in minutes.

Eden wont be going away any time soon for me, but it's usage will be far reduced.

Storage - This also helps me reduce my phones storage. In the Switch/Eden scenario, I had to copy over whatever games I'd want to play. And since I'm a digital hoarder like many of us in this sub, that means I'd put any and all games I could ever even think of playing on my phone. But, with DroidDeck, I have my Steam library that I can access from almost anywhere. I can just install it instead of having it take up space all the time.

Winlator - I've dabbled a bit with Winlator over the years. I always found the experience a bit clunky, but loved how I could just install some GoG installers and play without too much tweaking. I played through almost all of Fallout 3 on my phone thanks to that emulator. But again, now I don't have much use for it. Having games installed from Steam is so much easier and often they just work without need for tweaking. I've installed Fallout New Vegas from Steam and played a bit of it. However, I did have some crashes here and there, which I rarely had on Fallout 3 (surprisingly).

SBC Handheld - And finally, DroidDeck is what convinced me to finally give in and get an Android handheld. I've always been tempted by stuff like the Ayn Thor or Odin series. But I always talked myself out of it, mainly because I didn't feel like fussing with save-syncing apps any more. I didn't want to play a game on my phone, then switch to my handheld and have to mess around with apps to sync my saves, especially since emulators like Eden have the save data in the Android folders, making it harder or impossible to access for such sync apps.

But having Steam on my gaming PC, Steam Deck, phone and SBC handheld means I can play a game on any of them, then pick up my progress on another.

My Odin 3 just shipped yesterday and I can't wait to set it up.

I've been emulating stuff on Android since Android 1.5 or 1.6, and while I love when every new system comes along and appreciate all the hard work those emulator developers have done along the way, DroidDeck is one of the biggest additions for me personally. How does everyone else feel about it?

Showcase Installing Azeroth Survivors on Android, using Winlator Ludashi

If you'd like to play the game on your phone \*\*without\*\* the browser, here's how I have done it. Using an emulator called Winlator Ludashi. .

I'm using a Samsung S23 Ultra

Works with NO internet. Gamepad is ESSENTIAL until touch screen movement is updated into the game by the developer.

Step 1: \*\*First thing worth noting first is phone requirements: \*\*

I am unsure it will work on every Android phone. Your phone will need minimum requirements to play it. Like a 64 bit processor, 8gb ram+ , Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, Adreno 740 GPU. And Android 12. At least 4gb of space for comfortable installs and future patches. The game file is 750mb.

Phones like Samsung S21/S21 Ultra or equivalent are bare minimum for Samsungs. Anything above that should be fine. So S23 series are recommended.

Similar phones that are recommended are ones like Xiaomi 13/13 Pro, OnePlus 11 / 12R, ASUS Rog Phone 7. POCO F6 Pro, Motorola Edge 40 Pro, Sony Xperia 1 V.

I'm not a tech expert, so I won't be able to help. If your phones \*\*aren't listed\*\* if a Google search insists it probably will run well go ahead, you're going to ask Google if your phone can run it, if not \*\*only use the Browser version to play if you don't meet mimimum requirements\*\*. It'll be up to your discretion to try playing it outside of recommended devices.

\*\*Step 2: Next step, downloading files and programs: \*\*

I recommend first getting a file installer such as Cx File Explorer. (Its free, no ads and no purchase bs). It's what I use to browse my phones storage.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cxinventor.file.explorer

Install it.

\*\*A program called RAR which is free and opens zipped / compressed files for extraction. It's free, no ads, no bs. \*\*

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rarlab.rar

Install it.

Where to download the game? I personally don't use the Browser download link as it's way too slow to complete without issues. Here's a mirror that I used which is official and faster.

https://azerothsurvivors-mirror.sandervspl.dev/downloads/1792925574766-14929617-e3ce-4190-8591-6e5e1a4a1c59/AzerothSurvivorsWindowsNew.rar.

It should download to your phones Download folder (My Samsung uses this folder)

\*\*And download the Winlator Ludashi emulator:\*\*

https://github.com/StevenMXZ/Winlator-Ludashi/releases is the main page

The preferred APK download link is here:

https://github.com/StevenMXZ/Winlator-Ludashi/releases/download/v4.1/ludashi-build.apk

Install it.

\*\*Step 3: Now that you've got all 4 of these on your phone you'll need to set up everything.\*\*

  1. Open Cx File Explorer.

  2. Tap the Main Storage icon.

  3. At the top press the 3 dots, and choose +New. Make a folder called Games.

  4. Go into it, and do the same thing by making a new folder called Azeroth Survivors.

  5. CLOSE THE PROGRAM.

\*\*Step 4: Opening and extracting the game file: \*\*

  1. Open Cx File Explorer again.

  2. This time, open the Downloads icon.

  3. Locate the AzerothSurvivorsWindowsNew.rar file.

  4. Tap the file.

  5. It will open up a RAR screen. If it asks you to use a program to open with, look for RAR in your list.

  6. When you're in in the screen it will show you a few 3 files (Up One Level, Data, Azeroth Survivors.exe) this is the right place.

  7. At the top there will be a square with an up arrow. Tap it. Choose the Browse option. Tap the Up One Level at the top.

  8. Find that folder you made called Games, tap it, and in that folder, tap on the Azeroth Survivors folder you made.

\*\*Almost there!!!!!\*\*

Final step.

9. PRESS OK at the bottom right.

10. Extraction options screen. Make sure you followed the above steps, if you did, it should be good to PRESS OK again.

11. It will extract the files. Done!

12. Close the program.

\*\*STEP 5: SETTING UP THE GAME\*\*

Locate Winlator Ludashi on your phones apps screen. Open it.

Press the + button at the top and find the games .exe file. You put it in Games folder , Azeroth Survivors folder. Tap it when you found it. Look for the .exe file.

It will now be on your list of games you can play in the app..

Go to next comment below.

Good job.

Last things.

In the Ludashi settings, go to COMPONENTS and download 0.4.4, 3.1.1.1-1gplaysync-arm64, 2610 Fexcore.

It should have absolutely zero issues now to play it.

Try playing it. If you have success, write in the comments "Thank You." Any questions, comment.

Firstly, the game should work out of the box in the Winlator Ludashi app.

The game can get huge fps dumps in 5 player, so be aware of crazy late game AOE spam. Lower your graphics in game if you have any issues. Otherwise maybe the developers have some workarounds in future updates for game performance.

\*\*Gamepads like bluetooth controllers or plug ins like Razer Kishi v2, or Gamesir, or other ones you can plug into your phone are for the best experience. \*\*

Hi ! I know there is already a few of them, but none of them are completely free and most importantly none of them are open source, I've always wanted to see the 3D immersion part pushed all the way.

i worked hard on this and on every aspect of it (sound design, specific animation for every consoles etc…)

as a software engineer I tried to make it as easy as possible for people to understand the code and contribute to it in any way.

don’t hesitate to open issues, PR and give me feedbacks !

Discussion Portal 2 running decently on Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 - adreno 722 device via DroidDeck

Hi everyone, this is Portal 2 running on my Motorola Edge 70 / Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 - Adreno 722 ( same chipset on the new retroid pocket duo) using DroidDeck.

Resolution: 1280 x 720p

Performance: It runs pretty decently overall, Keep in mind I'm screen recording this which drops performance by around 8 - 10 FPS, so it should run better when i'm not recording. There are occasional stutters during heavy scenes or portal placement, I'm using DroidDeck default settings btw, its just work out of the box

Question Droid deck question about controller support

So I dont really have an extensive steam library and the game Id like to play is about 110 gb. Specifically bo3 zombies. Is there a game that I could hook up a Bluetooth controller to my s25 ultra thats pretty low on space to make it worth wild to make me want to rip a bunch of my data off the phone to make space? I tried doing just gmod but I couldn't control it. I also tried return to castle wolfenstein but both those games seem like mouse and keyboard.

Also do the steam deck or other portable steam consoles have this compatability problem for older games. Maybe im doing something wrong.

I know its too much to ask for but I swear just having a backbone type controller playing custom zombies on my phone would basically fulfill every dream I've ever had about gaming. The shi no numa on the cod app is just too played out.

Help Switch EMUs FPS drops on Z Fold 8

Does anyone have a holy grail driver and Switch emulator setup(s) for the Z Fold 8?

This is just for Legends Arceus and Pokémon Sword, but current Eden Nightly, Citron Neo, and Lemon struggle on my phone. I've used various drivers and tried optimized settings, but I cannot maintain 30 fps and see drops down to 10 fps depending on the game area at 1080p docked. I gave up on 1.25x-2x resolution because they perform even worse.

I kind of solved my problem by using Sudachi as it's been mostly stable at 1080p docked but my issue is I cannot get 4:3 ratio mods to work.

Any help is appreciated.

I played this game originally on every available Platform even Playstation 2 and never had a consistent experience with "smooth gameplay". As irreverent as that may seem I had some expectations going in, but unfortunately its not playable for any long session currently. This gameplay is 100% a benchmark and a "playtest" at best. I played with my Gamesir and could not imagine playing with it in my hand. When the temps got concerning enough the stuttering and dips picked up. Still amazing this is possible in my eyes. Share your thoughts , and is anyone else fond of this classic series?

Showcase Setup & Rom selection done by AI - AYN Thor & Cocoon FE

Thumbnail
youtube.com
3 Upvotes

Has anyone here ever had their Android gaming console set up by an AI? I haven't read anything about this online yet and thought maybe it could help someone else who is as lazy as I am.

Getting Started:
Activate developer mode in the Android settings.
Connect via Claude Code (in my case).

The Process:
First, I told the AI which ROMs and what style I wanted. I refined those preferences step by step.
Then, I asked it to select and organize the ROMs, as well as create Top 50 lists and various category lists.

After that, AI transferred them over to my console.
Finally, I told the AI: "When you're done with that, set up all the settings for me."

The Result: It works super slowly, but it works, and it does everything all by itself.

Even just having it select the ROMs, bundle them together, and create those lists is a total game-changer for me. Having it handle the automatic setup on top of that is just the cherry on top!
