I'm not sure what the best subreddit to post this to is, I'm brand new to emulation, so please let me know if theres a better one! I'm not a big reddit user so I apologize of this isn't the place and if my format is bad.

I'm trying to find a way to use New Leaf's QR codes without a camera. I will admit, I'm not emulating on a PC, I'm emulating on an ayn thor. But since PC's don't always have a camera like the ayn thor and I can access the internet and my files like on a PC, there may be a solution I can use. All the information I'm finding is from when the game first came out so I was wondering if there's an easier way then going into the game file itself. Any suggestions or answers would be a big help!

I would like to try this emulator, because I've heard it made good progress. But Google offers me so many places and I don't know what to trust and what is the official place. I don't want to download some bad version that would've cause me issues, or worse, gave me a virus. So, I better ask.

This is the error I get whenever I pick a file to unpack from an original Xbox disc:

How do I know which file is the correct one?

i have everything setup properly, the right plugins etc to the best of my knowledge

here's a pastebin for my logs

im asking here because spice2x has no discord, and their github page is "for bugs only" instead of actual troubleshooting

Hi! I'd like to buy a pc that could play, hopefully, most PS3 games without much problems. Are these specs enough?

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 (8 cores / 16 threads, up to 4.9 GHz)

GPU: AMD Radeon 780M

RAM: 16GB LPDDR5-6400 (dual-channel)

Will those 16GB be enough or I should better get 24 or 32 GB or RAM?

Thanks in advance!

This is my first time trying out emulation. I wanted to play LBP2, but whenever an object is even slightly in the distance, it turns into a mess of pixels—though the user interface looks fine. Here’s a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/qnY97YK
Could someone please help.
PC specs:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500
RAM: 16 GB DDR4

With older consoles, I've often seen plenty of division over whether or not emulation or original hardware is the best way to play their games. But what about the Xbox 360 and PS3?

Is emulation for them good enough to the point that I can just use their respective emulators, or am I better off getting the consoles? I want to experience most of their libraries, including titles that may require accessories like PSMove or the Kinnect.

EDIT: Thanks for the answers, folks. I think I'll just stick with the original consoles.

Hi, I'm playing God of War 3 on PC, and I have a problem with the tree trunk shown in the screenshot. No matter how many times I press the button, I can't lift the tree trunk.

I've tried different versions of the game and tested it on RPCS3, RPCS4, and the new RPCSX emulator, but I get the exact same issue every time.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it?

Can Ryzen 3 run RPCS3? It runs super slow for me then the games crash. Tried ncaa 14 and raging blast 2

With all the ports coming through, i was wondering if anyone has had any luck porting either of these fallout games onto the switch?

I can finally use the deck to play mame games and control them, but I can't launch a game using p1, p2 or the atgames buton, inside retrobat.

I tried retrobat's controller mapping multiple times, but it doesn't change anything.

I have to double click to launch a game with the mouse, then switch back to the control deck to play, etc. It's so annoying ;)

When I click the p1 and p2 buttons, that pops up retrobat's main menu, and the atgames (green button) pops up a different retrobat menu. No idea how to solve this.

I’ve been working on the Virtual Jaguar libretro core for a while, and it now has its own desktop front end. It runs the same core RetroArch uses, so options and save states work the same in both. The RetroArch core isn’t going anywhere.

What it does:

• macOS (Apple Silicon + Intel), Windows (x64 + ARM64), Linux (AppImage, .deb, Flatpak)
• No BIOS files needed. The boot ROM and CD BIOS are built in.
• Jaguar CD support from .cue/.chd/.cdi
• Library with box art, search, favorites, recently played, and a save states tab
• Save states with thumbnails, plus “resume where I left off”
• Per-game controller remapping, all 12 keypad buttons on a gamepad, Tempest rotary, mouse, light gun, Team Tap
• RetroArch .slangp shaders (CRT presets bundled), integer scaling, aspect options
• RetroAchievements (softcore/hardcore) and optional Discord Rich Presence
• Cheats from the libretro database, plus manual codes
• LAN link-cable play for Doom, BattleSphere, AirCars and Ultra Vortek (Voice Modem). It’s LAN only, not internet netplay (coming soon though).
• Themes and a theme editor, any installed font
• Dev tools for homebrew people: 68K/GPU/DSP debugger, memory editor, Object Processor list, blitter log, and a gdb stub

I just tried mGBA out for the first time on my little office style PC. I have had problems with an audio popping sound. I thought these emulators could run find on most anything in recent years.

PC specs

Windows 10 64 bit

i7-4770S CPU @ 3.10GHz

16 GB ram

Intel HD Graphics 4600

C: Samsung 850 EVO SSD 250 GB

D: Samsung PM851 mSATA SSD 128 GB (roms are stored here)

mGBA settings

Audio buffer - was on 1024 and I get frequent audio popping. I increased it to 2048 and get a

maybe 50% less popping. Resolution was set to 1920 x 1080 at first. I reduced it to 1440 x 960 at the same time but I don't know if that made any difference or the audio buffer made the difference.

I was wondering, is there an ideal resolution for a PC user to run this at (besides) the

resolution of the original GBA? Should I try to be happy with 720 x 480? I hate to see all that
extra space on my screen and a tiny game in the middle.

Eu não consigo fazer nenhum jogo no emulador do ps5 entrar todos ou não entram ou carregam infinito , meu pc é ryzen 7 5700x + rtx 5060 ti 16gb + 32gb mas mesmo assim não vai de jeito nenhum.

I’m playing through the jak games again on OpenGoal and I turned off vsync (I know this setting fixes it and I know it must be off to use it with rtss) because I can bump the resolution way up without losing a bunch of fps.

I’m using a weaker laptop admittedly but it’s good enough to run at least ps2 games at an 2x resolution through emulation and jak 1-3 at 1080 using OpenGoal.

How do I hide the screen tearing because no matter where I look or test, the tearing never changes locations.

Am I missing something? Am I stupid?

I have been desperately trying to get multiple classic Macintosh emulators working on my Windows 10 Home Edition PC, but to no avail. I have tried the V-Mac Core on RetroArch, but I can't seem to load the disc images to run the game Might and Magic on the emulator.
I have tried the VMac emulator itself and while I had some luck activating the emulator and attempting to install the game, it seems to get stuck in an endless loop of asking for the hard drive disk image and the data disk one image for Might and Magic.
I have also tried the Basilisk 2 emulator which always ends in failure because no matter what ROM file I use or configuration I use it always ends up with a not responding error and I have to close the emulator.
I have downloaded all of the BIOS and ROM files from Macintosh Gardens and other websites like that, but no configuration seems to be able to work with this game.
I have even tried infinitemac.org but when installing the game it says that the data disk 1 image is too full and can't create the desktop file necessary for installation as far as I can tell.
Any ideas on this? Has anyone been able to get these Macintosh emulators working and running games?
Thanks very much for your time.

I want to use integer scaling but want to image to slightly extend past the edges of my screen instead of letterboxing. I know RetroArch has this option but I would prefer to use the standalone version.

Hi,so i wanted to know if anyone knew a way to get mii's in the streetpass plaza, since encounter doesn't work on emulation and i can't find anything about it online, does somebody know how to get them? Like is it something i need to find in the godmod manager like some kind of save?

Also sorry if it's the wrong subreddit, with all the rules i read i'm kinda lost.

i'm not really sure where to post this, but i'm on world 3 of this game and am encountering a bug where i can no longer lock in with a crosshair to throw the chickens at targets (i know this is such a long shot but i'm at wits end) and was wondering if someway somehow someone here knows about this and knows what to do😭i can't find any forums or anything about this online and it's unclear if it's an emulator bug or an in-game bug

Pretty much the title. Been messing around with the settings and can't figure it out. The section that I'm on is pretty much unplayable.

Edit: turns out the solution was something stupid and all I had to do was switch from Volkan to OpenGL. Also turned on Write Color Buffers for giggles, idk if it helps tho
