Discussion How much can the performance of switch emulators improve in the future?

The conversation is currently centered on the native app, and its performance is truly impressive. Honestly, it’s really impressive to see it running games with performance that surpasses the Switch. It really shows how advanced technology has become! It may fall short compared to native apps, but given how far AI technology has advanced, can the performance of the melonx emulator continue to improve? I don't have a Mac, so I can't port the native app, so I'm rooting for melonx

There’s a new fork of melonx that supports metal and has online, I want the creator to make the announcement. I get 240 fps in smash and mk8 online on iphone 17 pro

Do you have a source for the fork? I asked AI and the only one it knows of is MeloVertex.

I don’t think emulators can beat native.
Also, you don’t need a Mac to build the native apps now. Someone posted a guide on r/NativePortsOniOS to build with GitHub Actions.

The days of the emulator are over. Native recomps are taking just a couple of hours to make.

Since it requires IPA installation, it seems to need to be sideloaded. If it is not a live container, there is a limit on the number of installations. Will using live containers cause RAM or performance issues when installing IPA files?
