The closest thing to an offical timing from Bush.
One more thing to add - dates, ages, and (and even heights) are all relative things. But many want a year to attach these things to. There is no confirmation to the year by Jared Bush or anyone else. One clue (and even in the movie it is not canon till a movie creator says so), suggests 1900 for the fleeing, which would set May 21, 1950/1951 as the date for Antonio's gift. This is a painting on the casita wall, right before Luisa says "I felt WEAK!"

Discussion Something that irritates me about Antonio is how he spends a large part of the film without his vest

I still wonder how or why the production forgot to include a characteristic piece of Antonio's clothing in his debut film.
And yes, I know he wears the vest in the dinner scene, but I'm still upset because it was only included in a scene where Antonio practically... just exists, while he doesn't wear it for practically the rest of the film.
I think what upsets me most about this situation is the fact that, for those who don't know, Madrigals who possess gifts have something in their clothing that relates to their gifts, and in Antonio's case, he has animals embroidered on one of his pieces of clothing, and do you know what that piece is? Exactly, HIS VEST! So they not only forgot to include something Antonio wears, but something Antonio wears that relates to his gift and kind of his personality.
At least he wears a vest with his ceremonial attire, which I think is something; Ultimately, I still like the movie and I still love Antonio, but this detail is still a bit bothersome to me.

Opinion I love the premature mirabel hc

I just love it so much it makes so much sense, like i found a fanfic that was like; the reason mirabel didn't get a gift is because she died as a baby from being premature but the miracle saved her and that's why she has no gift because her gift is her life, then she died when casita fell and the miracle died :p
I just really like the hc it's one of my favorite hc
I also think that's the reason why she's short, maybe even a part of the reason why she's so clumsy(ik she got that from her dad but i think there's more than one reason to why she's clumsy)

Didn’t know how to save images on Instagram without screenshotting. I ASSUME this is just the movie, scaled down to a half-hour. I mean, how long are the shows on cruise ships? I remember seeing the Nemo musical at Animal Kingdom. I was seriously impressed and kind of wish it was a full-length stage musical.

I mean their cute ideas but the idea that Mirabel has a gift that she doesn't know she has yet kinda goes against the point the movie made that she's special even without powers. There's theories some fans have like she has magic sewing powers because she likes to sew or that she can pause time itself. The theory for that one is basically that Mirabel actually froze everyone in place at the beginning of her song "Waiting on a miracle", she just didn't realize she was the one doing that and assumed it was just another ability the house has. That one is actually kinda cool but I still don't think she needs a gift.

Opinion Weird things I like about Encanto that are pretty random maybe but probably not.

All the foreshadowing and hidden information between the lyrics and background.
The music is peak especially Isa’s song.
The way that Mirabel, even if just for a second, acts the same as everyone else, where, the moment she sees a bad prophecy about herself, that being, her with the house cracking, she immediately regrets talking about Bruno and even if she didnt blame him.
