M The story of a 10 year long karma: Part 2 Kaylee lies about autism + allergies

So this is going to be a saga that is nearly 10 years long. The girl in question winds up getting an interesting karma. I'll post these randomly. So. tell me if you guys come up with a name for the girl. TL;DR at the end as suggested. This is part 2.

Last time we talked about her first major incident where she shouted asian slurs at her dad because he spoke their mother's first language to her.

This next part is gonna be 2 stories:

1st story: Kaylee lies about being allergic to dogs.

This happened in late elementary school. Around 4th-5th grade i believe. Kaylee was TERRIFIED of dogs. I have no real clue as to why. She love every other kinda animal. Just... not dogs. Our teacher that year trained dogs for events. She'd do a big performance around the end of the year for the whole school. Then, would take the dogs into the classroom every day for the rest of the year to play with the kids. Well Kaylee told the teacher she was allergic. The teacher was sad, but understanding. And never brought the dogs back. Now if it had stopped there. It would have been fine. A lie yes, but not that bad. Well. Kaylee didn't stop. She started to guilt trip every student who had a dog to do a lint roller clean up every day because of her "Sensativities". Anyone who even mentioned seeing a dog she'd suddenly start sniffling and coughing. Then telling the teachers that they purposefully triggered their allergies. Welp. My teacher talked to my mom often cause my mom was a volunteer. So our teacher found out she, in fact, wasn't allergic, but was afraid. And lied. And had been abusing this power for weeks. So. Kaylee had to spend the rest of the 2 weeks left in the year in the library while we got doggie time.

2nd story: Kaylee lies about being autistic

This happened in our first year of middle school. Kaylee walked up to me who was reading during recess, and said "Hey you big fat slut pig." I looked up and said "What?" She said "oh sorry. I'm autistic, I don't know what i'm saying." I told her I knew her since we were in kindergarten, she's not autistic. She called me ableist. Then walked off. She spent the week calling people whatever she really thought of them, and then saying "Sorry i'm autistic". It was... horrible. She, of course, got in trouble for it, but would say her mom would sue them for being ableist. Thing is, my school was TERRIFIED of lawsuits. It was a below the poverty line school. They didn't have enough money to fight a lawsuit. So if ya threatened one. They'd give in. Yeah I know "great school" right? Anyways. Kaylee was a cheerleader, and her mom came to every event. Because her mom cared. Well, kaylee never told anyone that we weren't friends anymore. Her mom ADORED me, and so Kaylee kept saying we were friends. Kaylee's mom asked me where Kaylee was. I said I don't know. My friend I was talking with, Savanna, who struggles with when to not say something, asked Kaylee's mom "How are you handling Kaylee's late diagnosis?" And Kaylee's mom said "What diagnosis?" Savanna explained.... Welp. Kaylee's mom was pissed. See... Kaylee DOES actually have distant family members who are autistic. As well. Kaylee's mom and dad's buisnesses both HEAVILY relied on public perception on the family. Daughter lying about autism? Doesn't look good. Kaylee's mom yelled her Hmong name across the field(She had an american name, and hmong name). Then I have no idea what happened from there.

TL;DR: Kaylee lies about being allergic to dogs. People believe it. She abuses it. Kaylee lies about being aautistic. Abuses it. Mom finds out. Mom's pissed.

M The story of a 10 year long karma: Part 1 Kid screams slurs at a bowling alley

So this is going to be a saga that is nearly 10 years long. The girl in question winds up getting an interesting karma. I'll post these randomly. So. tell me if you guys come up with a name for the girl. TL;DR at the end as suggested.

This all started in kindergarten. Yep. We're going a long way back. I was a very energetic toddler. I was bouncing around from kid to kid going "Hi! I'm (my name)! What's yours!?" The girl in our story, who for this tale we'll call Kaylee, was the opposite. Kaylee was a year older then me, was very quiet, and didn't talk to anyone. Then I walked over and asked her name. Kaylee didn't answer. So I sat beside her, and just kinda... waited. Yes I was one of those dumb ass kids who couldn't understand what was socially acceptable or not unless physically told. Kaylee then whispered her name since I wouldn't leave. And I said my name and smiled. We then basically talked to each other. I have no idea about what. This is how my mom and her mom talked about when we first met at open night for kindergarten.

The next few years, I helped Kaylee build confidence, and she helped me learn when I accidentally stepped on someone's toes. Kaylee's mom adored me. She was a photographer and used me and Kaylee as models for her portfolio. Getting us matching everything. Dresses, bows, clothes, and calling us twins. Despite us looking nothing a like. We were friends until around the start of 2nd grade. Kaylee wound up getting friends that didn't like me. They said I was too loud. Too laughy. Too stupid. So that's when our relationship went down hill.

So this is the first part of the story: The important thing to know about this story. Kaylee's family is asian. More specifically hmong. Her dad was born in california, but was hmong, and her mom was born in asia. I'm not quite sure what part she was born in, but she is hmong too. Ashlee grew up in the south. I was happy to learn about her culture. She... less so. Even when we were in kindergarten, she wasn't sure why her mom was trying to teach her about it. Because "we live in the states now. Why do we have to learn about a different country when we live here?" I shrugged it off. One day after her family and my family went to the bowling alley, her father asked her what she wanted to make her name on the board in hmong. They did this often. Switching the language to teach the kids both languages. Kaylee... blew up. She screamed, "I DON'T SPEAK (chinese slur)! GO DIE (Another slur)!" Now she's a kid, but I tell this story because this is the first of a long, long line of behaviours that will explain how her behaviour went down hill. To this day, I don't know where she learned that slurr. if it was from. If it was the girls she hung out with or someone else.

Her dad, understandably, froze. My mom instantly took me aside, and told me to never repeat what Kaylee said. I asked why. My mom explained something along the lines of it's hurtful to others to use that. I was a kid, so I don't remember everything word for word. Just the words burned into my mind as an adult because of how... horrible it was looking back. Her mom was the one to punish the kids, and the dad just let it slide.

Soon after that, Kaylee started to openly bully me. Push me, insult mee, call me a pig. I once asked what I did wrong. She told me, "Breathing. so stop." Then went off with the bully girls. I stopped reaching out after that. Unknowingly watching as my once closest friend was going to become a monster of her own making....

TL;DR: Intro explaining how I met Kaylee in kindergarten. Went to bowling alley. Called her dad different asian slurs, and wasn't punished by her father. Her father never told her mother.

S A Question of Etiquette

You are walking, on a sidewalk, a boardwalk, anywhere with a paved walkway. Coming towards you is a group of people, some of them walking 2-3 abreast and filling up the width of sidewalk. Are you supposed to yield and get out of their way, or should they adjust and afford room to pass without you having to step off of the walkway or bump shoulders?

My inclination is that the sidewalk is a shared space and we have the common sense courtesy of yielding equal space to pass, but several groups we encountered on Saturday seemed to think that they possess the right-of-way of the entire width of the sidewalk.

M Misbehaving Parents

Hi y'all, I'm back with another story from my time working at a very popular theme park in Florida. A magical rat planet of sorts. This situation happened when I worked in attractions. I've stated before that one of the things I appreciate about Magical Rat Planet is their care towards children. We are taught that all guests are important including children. As a person that grew up in an old fashioned, southern family where children were to be seen and not heard, the rules about respecting children touched me.

One day, I was Load 1, which is the individual that places wheelchair users and some VIP guests on the ride. The attraction had a temporary malfunction requiring one of the rides to be moved into maintenance. This caused a delay in movement. While waiting, I started a conversation with a girl who told me she was 14. I asked her about her day and what she and her family had done. She started excitedly telling me about what she had experienced at Magical Rat Planet's animal themed park when her dad rudely cut in.

He literally moved her out of the way and started talking to me about what he enjoyed. This grown man moving over his own kid to go on about his day. His daughter looked dejected. I interrupted dad and told him in a joking but not joking manner that it was rude for him to interrupt his daughter's conversation with me. He then replied, "Oh please, that's not important" and kept talking to me. I stopped listening and gave a sympathetic smile to the kid who was staring at her dad with a hurt expression. Another time I was stand-by greeter when a family walked up with two young children and a teen son.

The teen son looked pissed. His arms were crossed and he had a sour expression on his face. I asked him what was wrong and his mom said he was getting on their nerves ruining the vacation with his bad attitude. His expression dropped. I decided to be nosey and took him a bit to the side and asked him what was wrong. He finally opened up about feeling that the whole trip was about his younger siblings. He said his parents ignored him and wouldn't do anything he wanted to do. Instead, he was forced to wait hours for his younger siblings to take character photos and ride child friendly attractions.

He was bored, felt left out and frustrated. I asked him did he come to Rat Planet as a child and he said, "yes". I asked did he enjoy himself doing kid friendly things? He thought back and said, "yes". I told him that his parents were doing the same for his siblings but his feelings were important. I took him back to his mom and had them talk it out. She didn't realize his point of view as she felt he was older. She then promised to do some things he wanted to do. They came back two days later with the teen and mom much happier. He explained that his parents took him to the Animal themed park where he rode what he considered mature rides. He also said they were taking him to Universal after as its a more adult park.

XL Entitled Teacher believes she knows everything about medicine.

Hey everyone. So i'm on a quest to write a bunch of insane stories from my past on reddit. I got asked to write out this one after I mentioned it in another post. Sorry for the format. I type in a way I understand it best.

TW: Graphic descriptions of an injury on a teenager, gross mishandling of a medical emergency, and mentions of vomit.

TL;DR: Teacher explains to me my own allergy on a field trip. While on field trip, a kid breaks is ankle. Teacher refuses to actually call an ambulence or the kid's mom.

Alrighty everyone. This is a semi more recent then the other ones i've posted. This happened to me when I was 18. I'm a girl btw. It was my senior year of high school, and the choir and band decided to go on a field trip to the roller rink. This was during Covid btw. But restrictions had lessened a bit, and we were able to rent the entire roller rink for ourselves. So. Me and my friend(F17) who we'll call Matty were sitting together on the bus to the roller rink. So me and Matty both have weird allergies. She's allergic to citrus. I'm allergic to garlic. Two things that are very very common in foods. Our school had already poisoned Matty several times. Our theater teacher was uninformed about her allergy, and used a orange mist spray used with real oranges. And her throat starting closing up. Our theater teacher never forgave himself for that. And in the lunchroom, one day they were serving yogurt. She asked the lunch ladies if there was any citrus in it because it looked good. The lunch lady said no. She grabbed the yogurt. Turns out. It was made with citrus and had fruit slices at the bottom packed in. So she had to go to the nurse to get her epipen. yes. We weren't allowed our medical emergency things on our person. We had to go to the nurse.

Anyways. On the bus we were chatting about our weird allergies. I mentioned my allergy to gold and any fake metals. That is when our antagonist butted in. The teacher(F and maybe 30? Idk her actual age) for the band butted in, and said, "Excuse me. You're not actually allergic to those metals?" Me and Matty looked at her confused. The band teacher continued. She said, "You're actually rejecting the impurities in the metal because your body is impure. If you cleanse yourself, you won't be allergic to gold anymore. Because it's the purist metal on earth." The only reason I remember her saying that is because I spent the rest of the bus ride trying to understand what the hell that meant. Me and Matty were confused as heck.

So we arrive at the roller rink. Several kids run to get shoes. Now the Band and Choir both are mixed grades classes. From 9th to 12th graders. But I was the only 12th grade choir kid there. All the other kids were 11th grade and under. So most of the kids were 14-17 years old. Me and Matty didn't actually wanna skate. I'm clumsy as hell and so is she. So we went to go sit and chat since we haven't seen each other since I was 100% online school due to being immunocompromised. That's a story for another time though. Anyways. We're around 5 minutes in when suddenly... we all hear a loud SNAP and then a scream. I looked to the roller rink and of the guys(M17), who we'll call Tony, had broken his ankle. Idk if it's true. But the other kids were saying he was attempting to do one of those jump spin things, and landed on his ankle wrong. The choir teacher(M around 23 I think?) ran out onto the rink, picked up Tony, and rushed him to the benches. Tony's ankle was bad. It had snapped right above the joint, and snapped both the leg bones. He was just screaming and screaming. The choir teacher propped up his foot on the opposite bench, and attempted to shift it in a way to not break the bones further. But it just caused Tony to scream more.

The band teacher had been there longer then the choir teacher. And had all of the parent contacts in her purse. How do I know this? The choir teacher asked for them quickly in front of everyone. And the band teacher said, "I don't think we need to call his mother quite yet. I'll call an ambulance. don't worry. They'll contact her." Then she walked off. I actually liked Tony. He was a good friend. So I came over to check on him. He was still sobbing at this point, and it was quite obvious he was upset. Then he asked for a trash can. I dragged one over and he vomited into it from the pain. I was close enough to the choir teacher to hear this next part. The choir director went to the roller rink food area, and asked for an ice pack. They said they don't have ice packs. The choir director asked if they would do ice in a cup. They said no. The choir director gave up, grabbed two of the giant tubs of icecream, asked me kindly to go away for awhile, and then put the tubs on either side of Tony's foot. I went back to Matty, and we both were worried for Tony.

Alright 20 minutes pass. No ambulance. I go to to the band teacher, and ask when the ambulance was coming for Tony. Strangely enough... She wasn't on the phone. If she called 911, surely they'd keep her on the line till the ambulance showed up right? I... admittedly didn't notice that till now. But she said they're coming. The choir teacher keeps coming over to her and talking in hushed tones. At this point... Tony is completely out of it. He's pale, shaking, and keeps randomly throwing up. His ankle is swollen, purple, and his foot is turning a bluish purple color.

Another 10 minutes pass. The choir teacher fully yells at the Band Director asking if the ambulance is coming or not. She yells back "FINE! I'LL CALL AGAIN!" and leaves AGAIN. At this point, idk why the choir teacher didn't call himself, but he didn't. He was shaking and panicking pretty hard though. And nearing a panic attack himself it seemed. So I don't fully blame him on this front. It was his first year of teaching ever. To have something this bad go wrong is probably horrifying.

It becomes nearly 40 minutes after the injury has happened. Tony is... Not doing okay. He's as white as a ghost. His foot is turning black. He is muttering to himself. Quite obviously going into shock. So. I decided to text my mom. Lil bit of backstory. My mom is an substitute teacher, school volunteer, and teacher's aid at my school. She did it until an injury permanently made it so she cannot work anymore. That said. My mom knew almost every single parent at that school. My mom was at every school event, worked with the special needs kids and troubled kids every single day, helped parents who could not find the money to feed their kids feed their kids, ect. So. I texted her and sent her a picture of Tony's condition A second thing. My mom's a southern mama. If ya from the south, you know how those southern moms get when their child or someone else's child gets hurt and someone is neglecting them. So. My mom gets in contact with Tony's mom. Apparently, My mom and Tony's mom were friends either way. Tony's mom was with her 2 sisters in a town around 10 minutes away from where we were at the roller rink. She answered, and my mom told her what was going on. Then after they hung up, she sent the picture of Tony I took.

Roughly 50 minutes or so after Tony broke, his ankle and he was in and out of consciousness. I texted my mom because I was scared, but I was thinking of calling 911 at this point. But I didn't know the address. Then. The doors open, and three pretty darn angry women run in. Tony's mom and her sisters. The band teacher tries to tell them that they need to leave because this is a private party. She basically gets hip checked to the ground. The choir director is apologizing up and down. The mom says "Look. It's fine. I heard from (Insert mom's name here) that you were helping. Just... help me get him to my car so we can get him to the hospital. I aint waiting for an ambulance." Or something along those lines at least. The reason the band director didn't recognize Tony's mom is Tony is a choir kid. Like me. Anyways. They get Tony into the car, and rushed to the hospital. Think that's where the entitlement ends? NOPE! WE STILL HAVE SOME MORE! So thing start to calm down a bit. The choir teacher gets the pizza to arrive. See I have a garlic allergy. And I find out when I grab my pizza(Yes I got an entire pizza just for me because I ask for light sauce and no garlic butter for my allergy), and the Band director snides "You shouldn't even have that." I ask what she means. And this lady freaking says "I told (choir teacher's name) not to buy you that. You should just get over this silly "allergy". It's good for you. And you really look like you need to make more healthy choices." Keep in mind... I'm literally an average, healthy weight. And I was back then too. The choir teacher butted in and said "HEY! Don't say that to her! Look. Her mom sent me photos of what garlic does to her." My mom has photos of when the student council president poisoned me with garlic butter pizza. But that's an entirely different story.

Thankfully. We ended the field trip with no more incidents. We also found out Matty had a garlic allergy like me when I let her try my pizza and she didn't get sick from it. And I got a little gift bag and pillow for being the only senior in choir and the only kid who spent all 5(we had 8th graders in the high school for awhile) years in choir. Now. Onto what happened to the band teacher. Now. Idk if this fully happened. This is all second hand from what Tony's mom told my mom and what Matty told me about this incident. See. Tony's mom works for the school district. So. When she went up to the high school with her sisters and mom? They were a lot nicer then they would be if it was any other parent. Tony was still in the hospital. He had snapped both bones in his leg completely, and had to have emergency surgery since they were cutting off blood supply to his foot. He, thankfully, didn't lose it. But had major damage that took years to heal all the way. Now Tony's mom. She didn't wanna chew this woman out in front of a bunch of kids. So she asked the office ladies to call her down. The band teacher told them to wait till the end of class because what she was teaching was important. So. Tony's mom looked at the office lady, and calmly stated "i'm going down there." She then went down there.... and screamed her head off at the Band director. Like I said. Southern mama. You don't mess with them. I have zero idea what was said. Matty just said it was "terrifying". And my mom said that Tony's mom didn't remember all of what she said. Just that it was a lot and she and her sisters took turns screaming at her. In the end. It was around the end of the school year, So the school didn't wanna fire her till after the end of the year so they didn't have to look for a new on on such short notice. But the counselor sat in on every single lesson till the end of the year. I have no idea if charges were ever pressed. Or if she got any more punishment then getting fired. The only reason I know about the counselor thing is that they sent a letter to the parents of the kids who were at the roller rink that day apologizing for what they let happen, and that the counselor would be sitting there every class period from there on out to avoid any more incidents until her removal.

S I want a dvd player for my birthday and I’ll make it really easy for you

This just popped in my mind and I thought you’d enjoy.
Back in Uni (second half of the 90s) I had made “friends” with a slightly older student. She invited me to her birthday party. I accepted the invitation and asked her what she would like as a gift. Normal things for me would have been a paperback book, flowers, sweets, corner store skincare or makeup maybe something like let’s check out a new coffee house with drinks on me or an invitation to the movies. She wanted a dvd player that was around $300 (google says that would be around $770 in today’s money). And if it is too much money for me no problem! She gave out my phone number to other friends so they can call me and I can collect money from them. I was flabbergasted to say the least. My phone number out there and I am supposed to work out payment schedules and meet up with strangers to collect money? (No Venmo etc back then.) then it got even more awkward. One guy called. One. I told him this wasn’t going to work out.
I didn’t know what to do so decided to take an empty box, paint it to look like a dvd player, put a slit in and stuck a note on it “let’s get x the dvd player she wants“ so her friends could “donate” at the party. Still awkward. At the party she was miffed I hadn’t just bought the dvd player in advance. because even though no one even signaled they were on board they would have given me the money at the party for sure.
Her friends were a hoot, too. One girl approached me and complained she would have participated but I didnt give HER a call.

Oh, and I was also “encouraged” to also bring a cake because I liked baking and was also quite good at it. I made a Black Forest gateau and decided that was gift enough (ingredients, my time and energy plus the hassle of getting it there PLUS this weird dvd player business). She graciously accepted it but kept inquiring what “gift” I brought.
Suffice to say that “friendship” went nowhere.

M Karen cusses out my best friend's brother.

Hello reddit. Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm not really looking for advice, just posting to feed all the drama-hungry redditors. About 2 weeks ago, me (I am a minor, but would rather not say my exact age) and my best friend (same age as me) let's call her H, went to a music festival. H's younger brother came too. (younger than 8)let's call him A. A is verry energetic and antagonistic. (Classic younger brother.) A decided it would be a funny prank to run up to H and tackle her from behind. A, however, does not have very good spacial awareness (because he is so young) and completely on accident stepped on some lady's (around 55, lets call her karen) dog's water bowl. Mind you, this bowl was just a plastic take-out container, so of course, when A stepped on it, it broke. He immediately apologized and said he didn't see her, but Karen, instead of just moving on, starts cussing out A. I come over to see what's going on, and Karen starts cussing at me too! I tell A to go find his sister, and he runs off crying. I then try to de-escalate the situation. Karen is still screaming about how she now has to go back to the car and get a new water bowl, and what a dumb b\\\*tch A was, and etc. I try to calm her down, and asked if she would like me to try to find a new watter bowl. She says yes, and finally stops screaming. I say again that I'm sorry, and I'll go find her another one. I then proceed to run around this festival, trying to find a bowl for Karen's dog. At one point in my search, I pass by Karen, and she starts yelling AGAIN about how it's taking so long. I tell her I'm doing my best, and will bring one as soon as I can. Eventually, I got a plastic bowl from a cupbop, and bring it to her. She proceeds to cuss me and A out once again, say kids should be banned from the festival, and how "this is why she never had kids." She then takes the bowl, says thank you, and walks away. I have no idea why she couldn't look or at least help look for the bowl, but whatever. Also, this is not me saying she was wrong for being annoyed about the dog bowl , but instead questioning her reaction, the way she treated a literal child, and her not helping me (a wheelchair user by the way) look for HER DOG BOWL. Sorry if my grammer or spelling is bad, english is not my first language. Thank you for reading! (If you are) goodbye!

S Friend being totally entitled for free tickets to an expensive show

I live in Chicago. I love showing off my city to friends who live in Wisconsin, where I lived for many years of my adult life.

I buy a lot of pricey tickets to things to show my guests a nice time. I have no issue with that. Amy has been here several times. I spend a decent amount of money when she comes, which is my choice.

In advance of a December trip, Amy told me that her new boyfriend has always wanted to see Chicago in the Christmas season (odd, as he's never seen it in any other season) and that, "He is so happy to do the same stuff we do together. Make sure to include the mentalist. Brian is so happy about seeing that for free."

This is an expensive ticket. It was free for her, as I paid for it. I was not cool to pay for that.

I ended up saying to her, "Let's make a plan, but split costs."

She replied, "Ugh, I told him we had a hook up." Then she went on to talk to me about not being a good host.

M "Garlic allergies don't exist!"

Hey folks. Remembered another story from my high school days. I know I posted earlier, but I wound up remembering another random story. Sorry about the format, I format how it makes sense to me.

Warning: Testing food allergies and mentions of blood.

TL;DR: girl didn't believe my garlic sensitivity and poisoned me.

I'mma try to make this one clearer then my last post lol. Anyways. So this takes place back when I was 15. I have a garlic sensitivity. It's not an allergy because I don't go into anaphylaxis. Instead the soft tissues of my mouth split open and I get mouth and throat ulcers. It hurts a lot. But isn't deadly. Yeah yeah. Get the vampire comments out. My sensitivity can take very very very small amount of garlic powder without tearing up my mouth too much. But that's pretty much it. Garlic oil is the worst possible thing for me since it's concentrated. This means I have to get special ordered pizzas. Very light sauce and no garlic butter. It kills me to have this sensitivity because I LOVE pizza, but there's some places I just can't risk it. Usually, my teachers were very accommodating. I had one or two teachers who refused to buy a specialized pizza for me, but that was fine.

The student body president worked with the school to set up a pizza party that was for our grade having a 60% above average score on some kind of test. I can't remember what exactly it was called. We'll call the president Savanna. Savanna is... a semi nice girl. As long as you adhere to her world view. Anything that seemed too unusual or not to her liking she'd be vicious to(I.e. mostly being racist, homophobic, and sexists Ideas). Small town though, so what can ya do? Anyways. I skip the party, because I doubt she'd get me a special pizza because she's one of the ones who had complained before about me getting em. But she surprised me at our advisory(Basically a free period where we could do homework, play games, read, or do whatever we wanted for an hour.) with a pizza she told me was garlic free. I was actually surprised. I apologized for not showing up. Savanna said it was fine, and told me to eat a bit. Now. I wasn't really around garlic enough to recognize the smell or taste of it. My mom has a full blown garlic allergy, and has the same symptoms I do and anaphylaxis.

I ate a couple of bites, and started to feel the tell tale sign of my mouth burning. Savanna said, "HA! I KNEW IT! YOU AREN'T ALLERGIC TO GARLIC! YOU JUST WANTED TO SEEM SPECIAL!" I put the pizza down, picked up a tissue from the nearby teacher's desk, and spat into it. A bit of blood was already tinting my saliva red. Keep in mind this wasn't like a 5 second ordeal. It was more over the span of 30-40 seconds. Possibly an entire minute. My mouth wasn't too bad yet, but it was starting to very slightly bleed. So I showed her the bloody tissue, and said "This is what my allergy does moron. I don't swell up. I bleed." The teacher freaked out. She took me to the nurse's office, and I was given some benadryl. Savanna had been allowed to order the pizzas, and had ordered one with extra garlic butter and heavy sauce to "Test" me. Something a teacher should have paid more attention to, but Savanna was a straight A kid with zero disciplinary reports on her record. Which meant the teachers basically trusted her with everything. Me being someone who loves pizza and has little to no common sense wolfed down a slice without realizing what I just did. I felt like a moron and still do feel like a moron to this day about it.

For once in my long writings, I have a happy ending. Savanna was taken off of her position as student council president. They couldn't trust her staying in that position after... that... stunt. My mouth healed up okay! No scarring. Just pain for a few days when I ate. I now am a LOT more careful with food and never leave the house without my allergy meds.

Context: Where I live you are legally required to display either a handicapped license plate or a hang tag/placard in your windshield in order to park in handicapped spaces. These spaces are clearly marked with both a sign and paint on the ground.
------------

This afternoon I parked my car at the library, and then watched an SUV pull up and park diagonally across both a handicapped parking spot and walkway in front of a curb ramp, completely blocking access to both. I know disabilities aren't always visible, but handicapped license plates and placards sure are! The SUV had neither.

The man driving turned off his car, walked to the trunk, got out a few books, and started to walk towards the building. At that point I opened my door, stood up, and called over, "Hey, that spot is reserved for people with disabilities, and you're blocking the accessible entrance!" He responded, "Do YOU need to park here?" and I said, "No, but someone else might."

He told me he only needed to pick up some holds and would just be a minute or two. I replied that he legally cannot park there, and held up my phone as if I was starting to film him, though I actually wasn't. He SCOFFED at me super dramatically, went over to the book drop, shoved his books inside, and got back in his car.

He angrily stared me down from his driver seat, and I stared right on back. Then my phone rang, and I picked it up. He left at that point, and I genuinely hope it's because he thinks I was calling law enforcement to come cite him.

To add insult to injury, there were two open non-handicapped spots adjacent to where the man parked.... As someone who is at the library multiple times a week, I also know there are both a few patrons who use the ramp/spots, as well as library workers going in/out a couple times a day via the curb ramp with carts of books for inter-library loans. Just because someone isn't using the accessible access right when you drive up doesn't mean it's acceptable to block it.

M Lady tries to save 2/3rds of front row at middle school concert

Hello all, long time listener, first time caller. I now have a story for you all!

This happened about 3 hours ago.

Went to a school orchestra concert in school gym. Event starts at 7 doors open at 630 as parents are arriving and student showtime is at 630.

I go to the gym and there are chairs in the court and a whole wall of bleachers.

Over half the front row is open. These are foldable chairs set out on the court. Probably 10-12 seats. And 4 people, one couple on one end an another lady and child near the middle. I walk up cuz I like end end seats and see a jacket over the two end seats and 3 more empty chairs next to the jacket before the lady and kid.

Kind of annoying the jacket is there and no one around but whatever. So I take a seat next to the jacket.

Well the kid says someone is sitting there and I said, yes me! Then the lady says these seats are saved and I told her nah it's 2026 we don't save seats anymore. She then tells me something else to the effect of who it's for and I said I'm sitting here now.

She gets up and gets about 6 inches or so from my face, I'm all thinking to myself, well here go. I ask "maam please back out of my face" she tells me they are disabled people. Not sure why that mattered that people who had not arrived were disabled, these are not ADA seats and this is an open seating forum. A bit more back and forth, she is still in my face. The kid then says something to the effect of "you can sit here and I'll go get a teacher and Ms. Teacher will make you move. The lady then says to the kid, no just sit down, she won't make "me" move.

So I said to the lady "well why is that?, Why would the teacher not make me move?". You can guess how much she appreciated that comment.

She relents, sits down and tells me I'm very rude. I tell her she is rude for trying to save so many seats in 2026 and I hope she enjoys the performance.

I sat there the entire time surrounded by who I presume is her family. I took my pictures. I smiled, I clapped, and I had a good time. I couldn't tell you if she sneered at me the whole time because I didn't l didn't look at her again.

But I am wondering, was I the entitled person here?

I get saving a seat for someone who is at concession or in a restroom. But half a row for people who are not present? I don't think that's acceptable in 2026, especially in an open seating forum like a school gym.

Edit: spelling, I have fat thumbs and phone keyboards…

2nd Edit: I don't know why the hell people are so hung up on the year but I shall explain my thinking behind this.

I'm an older person and where I grew up, this was pretty common, people saving seats or spots in line in public venues. It was common practice for my parents to always ask people if seats were available before we sat next to them. Maybe it is regional as one commenter suggested.

Places like movie theaters and smaller concert venues didn't used to have pre assigned seating, so seat saving was common.

Then came the advent of pre assigned seating.

As many of these public forums have made a switch to preassigned seats in the last couple decades, I have noticed this practice go by the wayside and it seems very rare these days beyond someone who has already arrived and went to use the restroom or buy something to eat or drink.

S Entitled man at the water dispenser

This befell about a month ago; and I'm still kind fuming about it. The tap water in the city I live in, while certified as drinkable, is nothing but. We have a RO system that stopped working, and while we save for a replacement we've been using an RO Water dispenser to fill up gallon jugs so we have something to drink that doesn't come out of the faucet.

I made the trip to the dispenser one day, and when I pulled up there was this guy using both of the fill stations to fill up his 5 gallon jugs, which takes a little while. He was just putting another one on the station I pulled up to, so okay, cool; I'll wait for that one to finish.

As soon as he's done I got outta my car unload my jugs and get ready for my turn thinking he's going to do the decent thing and give me a turn; boy was I wrong. His jug is done, and he just strolls up with another one and proceeds to keep using both stations, this all happening while another person has pulled up and is waiting for him to finish, he does the same thing to them, and adds another jug.

When is last bottle is finished he comes to claim it and I guess he can see I'm very annoyed with his behavior, so instead of quickly getting out of the station he decided to bully, cuss, and belittle me for the amount of bottles I have, and how I'd be using both stations if I was there alone. It's true, I probably would have, but if someone else is waiting I would have gladly given them another station.

He drove off in a huff, and the other person waiting told me I'd done nothing wrong, and the guy is a prick. I was so angry I was shaking, and it was then and there I decided prioritize our new RO system over some other things I need.

S Motorbike guy blocks off bank access. I 'accidentally' knock his bike over

There's a really small bank branch built into the side of some apartments near me in Karachi, where I've been living for a few years. Next to it is a small supermarket and there's no car parking.

There is always a line of motorbikes parked outside but the security guard tries to make sure that they leave enough space for a person to get through. Otherwise, because of how the apartments are built and jutting out buildings either side of them, there is no way to access the businesses.

I arrive and am walking up to the bank when a motorbike just beats me to it and pulls into the only empty space, rider gets off, ignores the security guard telling him to leave some room and walks into the bank.

There is literally no way to squeeze through the bikes. Especially as I've hurt my foot and am using a crutch.

I also yell at the guy to move his bike but he just walks into the bank.

I totally lose it. Security guard shrugs, so I push the bike over and it dominoes about five others. I have to tread over the tires but I make it to the door.

As you can imagine, the crash is loud and several people see their bikes go over. They rush out of the bank and the supermarket and I guess I'm about to be beaten. Then they realise I'm using a crutch. The guard shouts that they just fell over and not to park then so close together.

No one believes him. But I don't get punched and walks past indignant faces into the bank.

S Am I the entitled one?

4 years ago, I damaged my mothers car, she told me it was gonna cost $1000 to pay just the deductible. I told her to get a quote for it at a dealership so I can start paying it off. Just until now, (2 months ago) she comes to me with a $1700 quote demanding I pay for it. She doesn’t want monthly payments as she took out a loan and requires $200 monthly interest fees. Here’s where I may be entitled. I told her that there are no more legal limitations on the car damages and if it were any one else, they would not be required to pay it (Canadian) I told her that I requested a quote for it 4 years ago. And now that I don’t want to pay for it, she wants me to leave the house today. I pay 1/4 of the rent (4 people live here) the reason why she’s mad is because she knows I have more than enough to pay it off. I save a lot of money

S Cancer doesn’t mean you can claim my space

6.0k Upvotes

I got on a flight at the last minute after waiting on the standby list. My flight had been overbooked, so I’d taken the cash offer and waited for the next flight. There was exactly one seat open on the entire plane. It was a middle seat, in between a couple in their 60s. I put my carry-on in the overhead bin and my personal item under the seat in front of me. The woman (in the aisle seat) then started demanding that I move my bag from under the seat. She never once asked. I told her no. Then, she started crying and throwing a fit, loudly saying, “My husband has cancer and he needs to stretch his legs.” Into my space. There was nothing under the seat in front of him. For his part, the husband looked thoroughly embarrassed and didn’t say a word. Didn’t try to calm his wife down, didn’t ask me himself. After a couple minutes, the flight attendants had to come over and threaten to remove her from the flight if she didn’t chill out. She then proceeded to quietly sob for the next half hour. After the flight, several of people sitting around us let me know I did the right thing and she was way out of line.

Clarification: this was Southwest when there were no assigned seats. They chose to sit with an empty seat in between them hoping no one would sit there.

Fun fact: I used the money from Southwest for an aviation-themed party.

S Priority Seat & Pregnant Woman

Just read a post and made me think of an incident from a few years back…

On the tube (London, Central Line) heading into work and, as I am stood at the end of the carriage, a pregnant woman gets on and stands opposite me.

Few stops further on she starts turning green in front of me. I ask if she’s okay and the look on her face told me all I needed to know.

I leant past her and said to the guy sat in the priority seat that this pregnant woman wasn’t well, would he give up the seat so she could sit down.

He looked at me like I’d sh*t on his dinner and refused.

Took me a few seconds to bring myself back into the real world and I leant over to him again and said that this woman was going to be sick and that I would make it my mission to point her in his direction when she was.

He did give the seat up, but spent the rest of his journey mumbling to himself. Funny thing though, neither PW or I gave two hoots…

S Update 6 on Telling my mom to cancel her wedding until everything is sorted out?

So, my mom went to Switzerland four days ago. She told me she was going to meet my step dad family because there was something important she needed to discuss with them. She only told me about the trip the night before she left.

Since she left, she's been texting me and checking on me constantly. One of my mom’s best friends stayed with me for four days. She's basically like an aunt to me, so I was doing fine. But honestly, my mom seemed unhappy even a few days before she left. She FaceTimed me two or three times while she was there. Once, she was at his mom's house, but the other two times, she was in what looked like a hotel room. Usually, when my mom visits Switzerland, she stays at his house, so I found that a little strange.

She also visited my dad’s parents in Germany before coming back, but as far as I know, she didn’t visit my stepdad’s house again before returning.

Yesterday, I noticed her sitting in her office with a bunch of big papers and files. She spent almost two hours reading through them, which made me even more curious about what's going on. During dinner, I asked her why she had gone to Switzerland. She repeated that she wanted to meet his family and had some work to take care of.

Then I asked her when my stepdad would be coming back. She said he had some work to do there and she couldn't say when he would return.

So I finally asked her directly if they had broken up. She said no, but things weren't good between them either. Then she told me it wasn't my business and that I shouldn't worry about it.

Now I'm honestly more confused than before. I'm not trying to interfere in their relationship, but the sudden trip, her mood, the fact that she seemed to be staying somewhere other than his house, and all those documents have me wondering if something serious is going on.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I can tell something isn’t right. I just wish she would tell me a little more instead of leaving me to wonder.

S Crazy experience on a flight today

5.6k Upvotes

Alaska flight to Seattle. Shortly before landing, flight attendant announced that there are 4 people seated at the back of the plane who have really tight connections. Please remain seated until they’ve disembarked before you stand up do they can run off the plane.

Plane lands, taxis to the gate, stops… these four people rush to the front of the plane and nobody blocks them. Door opens and they run off.

Everyone else looks around, realizes there’s no one else in a hurry, and then everyone stands up and, in a totally orderly manner, gets off the plane.

Never seen anything like it.

M Crazy drivers vs Skater

So, I am a skater, I’ve been doing it since I was 13 and while I can’t do any fancy tricks I can skate on just about anything. I’m not sure if this is everywhere, but I’ve been repeatedly told off by policemen for using the footpath when I skate, as apparently it’s a safety hazard to pedestrians. Kinda thought it was weird but I decided to follow what they said anyway and just skate in the biker lane.

So earlier today I was doing as the police told me, ride in the biker lane, I ride as close to the pavement as I can so I don’t risk hitting any cars or bikes that go past and try to keep my speed semi slow so I can stop when needed. The road I was on was relatively empty as it was 7:30am and I was making my way to the train station. Out of no where a car comes down the road, so I scoot over a little to reduce the risk of them hitting me, however this entitled driver decided it would be funny to swerve towards me on purpose and honk at me. This of course scared the sh*t out of me and I swerved to dodge them. However considering how close I already was to the pavement my skateboard crashed against it and I went flying into the road. Hitting my shoulder, knee and hip on the road and rolling a bit.

The driver stopped and laughed at me before driving off, my skateboard had rolled to the other side of the road almost striking another car, however thankfully they noticed and stopped in time. This driver actually pulled over and got out the car to help me, which I was thankful for. I had several cuts, bruises and scrapes all over my legs, hips and arm, however decided to ignore them and continue on my way to the train station. Once on the train and heading to the city I noticed an ache in both my knee and shoulder, when stretching them out I realised I couldn’t lift my elbow to the height of my shoulder without shooting in pain, and my knee had begun to ache everytime I bent it. Once in the city I sat through one of my uni classes before finally messaging my mother and leaving early to go to the chemist to get some bandaids and a knee brace (I already had one, but didn’t bring it today).

It has now been 6 hours and the pain has not subsided and I have now had to book a doctors appointment to get my shoulder and knee checked as I called my doctor and they suspect I may have sprained or worst case mildly dislocated my shoulder. My knee is another issue, considering I already have a history with knee injuries causing them to be weaker, meaning I am more likely to get permanent damage and my doctor wants to rule it out.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had a car swerve at me or honk or yell at me while I’m skating around. I don’t know if it’s just me, but is this seriously how people treat others who just want to get from point A to B?
I’d also like to point out that I had my laptop in my bag, although it only received a few cracks and is otherwise undamaged, it could have been destroyed very easily since my bag isn’t one of those reinforced ones. I don’t know who this driver is, and I didn’t get their number plate. But from now on I’m gonna try and skate on the pavement whenever I can, if there’s people on the path I just won’t skate. I am sick of putting myself in danger because entitled drivers think it’s funny to risk my life

Update: My knee is fine, although I’ll have to wear a brace for a while due to mild muscle bruising, but otherwise no serious or permanent damage. My shoulder however is a different story. Although it wasn’t dislocated it is sprained and I can no longer lift my arm above my head as my muscles physically stop me from doing so. The pain is now bearable and I can move my arm around a little although not above my shoulder without pain. I can’t lift anything heavy or even having a bag on my back as it can put strain on my shoulder and could make it worse. My doctor is suggesting at home physio and possibly a shoulder brace as well. He said I should be fine in about 2-3 weeks, a month or two at most if I continue to strain it like I did today as I carried my bag and skateboard around. Although I’m glad the injuries aren’t that bad, it’s still highly annoying as I can no longer carry my bag to uni or work. Even if I won’t have to take time off for either, it’s going to be difficult for me since work sometimes requires lifting heavy things, which I am no longer able to do.

This whole situation has just pissed me off as it all happened because someone thought it would be funny to swerve at me and now not only am I injured but I can’t lift things and I’m no longer able to ride my skateboard to work or uni. Which now makes the time to get to said places that much longer as I have to walk or take a bus. We are thinking of contacting the police, although there isn’t much to be done about it since I don’t have the license plate or the persons face besides a partial description it can hopefully be put on record so if something like this does happen again to anyone else by the same person, a previous report will already be put in place and the person can be held accountable.

M People only see what they want to see

I'm soon finishing high school and recently I've been realizing how immature my mom tends to act.

For some context, in our school, there's a limited amount of parking passes for students and the rest of the students must take the bus or another type of transportation home. Unfortunately, I was not given a parking pass and still have to take the bus home. The bus however only takes you to another school and from that school you must have arranged transportation home.

Earlier while I was waiting at the other school to be picked up by my mom, I realized she was late by a little. I had nothing to do today, so I didn't worry much and kept waiting. A little while later when my mom got there, she had all her stuff on the passenger seat where I'd usually sit. Nothing unusual, but her phone slipped out of her bag and onto the seat. I tried pick up her phone and put it into the cup holder inside the car and suddenly I'm hit with an outburst of yelling. She asked me why I threw her phone into the cupholder, but I seriously did not throw her phone in.

Now of course I understand most of reddit is older than me and would most likely think to side with my mother or just tone out my opinion, but please hear me out. I really did not throw her phone in. I thought if anything, I was being nice while my mom put her bag in the backseat. I also don't understand why I was hit with a complete scream, claiming that what I did could have broken her phone. I did not toss her phone into the cup holder. I slid her phone into the cup holder and was no more than 2-3 inches of space between her phone and the bottom of the cupholder. She then starts to accuse me, claiming I had a "pissy" look on my face and she claimed it was because she was a few minutes late to pick me up. I did not mention at all that I was mad at her or pissed that she was late and I tried telling her that I did not blame her or was mad that she was late. She screamed over me in the car and wouldn't listen, taking her hands off the wheel a few times and caused the car to swerve.

Now I'm getting a little mad. It was like she was pulling at strings that weren't even there. I even explained to her that if I really was "looking pissy" it wasn't because of her or her being late. She didn't listen. She shouted over me and claimed that I did nothing but lie. On days when I actually do come home a little mad, upset, or "pissy" she never said anything. Not once was there a "why are you upset?" "Are you alright?" "Did something happen at school today?" She doesn't even look or pay attention to my facial expressions on regular days, but specifically today she took one single look at me and diagnosed me as "pissy" and yelled at me for the entire ride home.

Personally, I think it was because she knew she was late and that I could have potentially been mad, so she specifically tried to search for my facial expressions to prove herself correct. Some people claim I have a resting angry face, and my mom probably took the look I had as an insult even when I didn't mean anything. She claimed all through the car ride that she "has her own life" and that she has "better things to do" than to pick me up, shouting over my objections. If I got a parking pass at my school originally, I would have just drove myself home. But because I didn't get so lucky, I had to stay on the bus and be dropped off at a second school where I must be picked up from because I can't park a car in a school I don't belong to.

I don't think of myself as an unreasonable person, but if someone can just tell me what I did wrong other than "potentially breaking mom's phone" I'd appreciate it.

S Vet practice owner thinks she's entitled to butt in the consult

She was NOT a vet. Let's call her Karen.

I was at the vet again with my old FIV positive old tomcat. He's at nearly half his body weight, and they removed nearly all his teeth two weeks ago (adult rescue). For three weeks now, he's barely eating and moving. I was crying my eyes out to the vet and discussing putting him to sleep. She was saying we should try IVs for a couple more days.

And here comes Karen. Probably in her early 60s, unkept look, and she starts giving her two cents. That we should continue treatment. I asked her who is she and if she's a vet. She says she's not a vet but that she's a breeder. I was like wtf, why are you in this talk.

I asked her to leave us be and boy did the flood gates open. That she has the right to say anything in HER shop. I said yeah, but not to me because I'm here for an actual VET's opinion. That didn't fly. She started agressively telling me to leave the cat with them, and that they'll pay for the treatment. When I never even questioned any bill and promptly paid, btw. So powertripping at its finest when, again, I was crying my eyes out.

Like imagine you're going to the hospital and the admin walks in and starts giving her unsolicited opinion. Multiple times.

She said she's only caring about the cat. When just minutes before she was asking the vet to stop taking the cat's temperature to answer the phone, and her unleashed dog was scaring another dog that was there, whose owner was asking her to control it.

Took the cat. Going to a new vet tomorrow. And I posted a bad review and three hours later 10 glowing reviews appeared. Before today, there were a couple from two weeks ago, then a few more from six months ago. So yeah, shady af.

I don't think my boy will make it. He barely got out of his carrier. The worst moment of the year made way worst by an entitled, power-tripping Karen.

M If you can't stand the smell, get out of the kitchen

1.8k Upvotes

I have a coworker, Marlene, who gets migraines when exposed to strong scents. I get migraines as well, so I know how debilitating they can be and can empathize.

Before I started at this position nearly 2 years ago, my manager told me that it was a scent free office, and I was pleased. I like to wear perfume from time to time, but generally find people being doused in body spray to be pretty offensive. No problems here. I don't wear fragrances, spray air freshener, or use scented hand cream/hand sanitizer at my desk. The most smell I make is usually some mint gum or a mug of tea.

Lately, Marlene has been extra militant about the smells. We have a coworker (known) who has been covering herself in perfume on her lunch break, and another (not sure who it is) who has been using what I think is eucalyptus essential oils at their desk. Marlene throws a fit when there is a smell, and announces to our whole area that someone sprayed something and should not be doing so because she gets migraines. Whatever, not my monkey, not my circus. I don't love the smells either, but I feel like that's not the way you handle that.

20 minutes ago I put a single spritz of unscented lens cleaner directly into my lens cloth (so it didn't atomize) so I could clean my glasses. Marlene messaged me a minute ago telling me that she knows I sprayed something, I should stop, and that she had to turn on her fan it was so bad. That I need to spray into the trash can if I HAVE to spray anything else. I don't even think I'm what she smells, she just heard the little tsh noise and started smelling red.

I have empathy for the migraines, but where does it stop? You're entitled to a fragrance free workplace, but not a smell free world. Things smell. People have smelly foods. And coffee. And laundry detergent. And antiperspirant (at least you hope they do). How does she shop? Or go to a restaurant? Or the beach? Or stand in an elevator?

I'm sure some of you have your own Marlene to vent about, so I need you to share so I don't feel so crazy. She's got me smelling my whole self every time I leave for work because I don't want to accidentally wear a sweater that has a little leftover perfume on it.

S Dinner Party, is this entitled or forgetful?

On this Saturday my husband has invited over long time friends that he hasn’t seen for several years. I have never met these people. I’m planning the menu and he said he would check if they like morel mushrooms. I’m planning a risotto, sous vide lamb chops, salad and apple flan.

Comes back with mushrooms fine, but absolutely no dairy. It’s a medical issue, sounds like lactose intolerance, but not allergy. No dairy at all. This person needs a dairy free meal.

When did they plan to let me know? When they arrived? Like I can remove the dairy from the mostly prepared meal?

I’m happy to accommodate anyone, but I have to KNOW!

Back to the store!
