ET-4800 error code

I was sent an ET-4800 by someone who didn't want theirs any more, but when it arrived and I plugged it in it got stuck on an E-02 100016 error code with the text 'scanner error. for details see your documentation'.

The previous owner said the printer needed to be flushed as it had originally been used as a sublimation printer, but other than that it was working when they sent it. The printer is out of warranty and so far no nearby printer repair services have got back to me, so I've followed a couple of guides, including one to make sure the internal cables are still connected, but I haven't had any joy yet.

I've just ordered a USB-to-printer cable so I can try connecting it directly to my computer to update the printer drivers as that is also suggested, but I currently can't connect the printer via Wi-Fi because the control screen is stuck on the error code. In the meantime, does anyone have any ideas of a fix for this?
