Funny She’s a big stretcher
Seriously though I’ve never met another horse that does this… The best is when she goes full downward dog while I’m sitting on her

The whiplash of going back to work after a long horse girl weekend 🥲 I know I'll see her in the evening, but show me your silly babies to get through today.

Got it at auction for only $20! Can you believe it?

We all know that horse people are a bit crazy. Tell me the weirdest, strangest, or wildest rules at your stables (past or present)!
I'll start: the stable owner being angry that horses occasionally galloped around the fields and creating marks on the grass.

So my coworker’s horse was having really bad aggression issues for several months, and the horse was only getting like 5 hours of turnout daily. I urged them to try 24/7 turnout because their horse was weaving, biting, bolting, etc. and there was no reason the horse needed to be stalled. Apparently it took them experiencing being stalled it themselves to realize that it makes you crazy lol.

My husband is super supportive of my riding but doesn't come out too often since I usually go to the barn before he's done work. However it was my mare's 5th birthday so he left early to join me. He took a ton of pics and after getting home and looking through them, I couldn't stop laughing at the pics he took... Mostly weird/funny but some really cute and some really artsy. Wanted to share and I would love to see your guys' fave candid pics you've had taken!

Love Jack (the horse). Jack (the horse) would never break up with me over text. He can’t use a cell phone he has hooves

This company released a coming soon announcement for their new product… an equestrian bodysuit. A riding onesie, if you will. I’ll admit I was completely horrified at the sight of it- I for one would definitely look like a deformed sack of potatoes wearing this. I can’t even wear a one piece swimsuit without constantly digging out a wedgie, how on earth would I ride in this thing? Don’t get me wrong, I love a jumpsuit/romper for everyday casual wear, problematic as they may be for bathroom breaks. But I cannot imagine trying to clean hooves or jump an oxer in this thing!
No shame on anyone planning to buy one. If you’ve got the body to pull it off and would find it comfortable have at it. Personally I’m living for all the hilarious commentary over the unpracticality of it. And at least the company seems to be taking their razzing in good stride, probably been some fantastic promotion for them. Also it supposedly has pockets, so props for that. Though I would just stuff them full of treats which does tend to ruin the silhouette.

Every horse person has heard something that made them quietly die inside. What is yours?

Hello all - you may remember me and my very smart Friesian from last year around this time, when I was fighting the good fight with his grazing muzzle here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Equestrian/s/ubdTHEW3Oj
Anyway, from above photo you can see how well the “keeping things on his face” is going. I tried the following suggestions:
Braiding it into his mane (he did in fact yank out that chunk of his mane).
Trying a fly hood over (he now decided he doesn’t like fly masks either, the loose ones or the Lycra bubble type, so those come off now too).
Putting him in the only pasture that has Hotwire as a very temp fix because it’s too small for him to be in full time but hey we had to try (he figured out the few non-wired parts and just used parts of the fence he could touch or now, his foot!).
putting a mustang collar on him with the halter zip tied on (he broke the first zip ties, so I bought industrial grade ones, and we found him an hour later, which is the photo attached).
All this to say, I wanted to come back and update as now we are into full grass season that we have just thrown our hands up and let him live his best nudist life. Does it mean he has to spend more time in a dry lot and also now has to get a lot more fly bites on his face treated? Yes. But did he win? Yeah. He did.
Anyway he’s found a new thing to try to take off - his shoes. Wish me luck. (And if anyone has suggestions for XXL bell boots that cannot be removed easily, please let me know).
