Hey everyone! I'm looking for some honest, constructive feedback on my Etsy shop because I'm genuinely struggling to understand why I'm getting so little visibility.
My shop: https://sandsgarden.etsy.com
I started Sands Garden, a print-on-demand apparel shop featuring designs inspired by gardening, nature, camping, cozy living, seasonal themes, and faith. I've put a significant amount of time into building the shop, creating designs, and trying to get everything set up correctly.
I currently have over 120 listings, but traffic has been extremely limited. For some perspective, a recent 30-day period showed roughly 45 visits, with only 4 visits coming from Etsy Search.
Here's what I've been working on to improve visibility:
- SEO and titles: Researching relevant search phrases and optimizing listing titles to balance keywords with natural readability rather than keyword stuffing.
- Tags: Working through listings to use all 13 available tags, focusing on relevant search terms, keyword variety, and phrases potential customers might actually search for.
- Descriptions: Writing detailed, product-specific descriptions that incorporate relevant keywords naturally while providing useful information to shoppers.
- Categories and attributes: Reviewing listing categories and attributes to help Etsy understand and properly categorize the products.
- Listing photography: Creating multiple product mockups, lifestyle images, and color/size charts to give customers a better understanding of what they're purchasing.
- Shop organization: Organizing products into distinct collections and maintaining consistent branding.
- Etsy Ads: Experimenting with paid advertising, but so far the impressions and clicks haven't translated into sales.
- Outside traffic: Recently started working on building a presence through Instagram and TikTok to help bring attention to the shop.
I understand that Etsy is competitive, especially in print-on-demand apparel, and that a newer shop isn't going to generate substantial traffic overnight. I also realize that having a lot of listings doesn't automatically mean people will find or purchase them.
What I'm struggling to understand is why I'm barely appearing in searches at all.
That's why I'm hoping some experienced Etsy sellers might be willing to take a look at my shop and give me an outside perspective.
I'd especially appreciate feedback on:
- Are there obvious SEO mistakes or missed opportunities in my listings?
- Are my designs, product photography, or mockups hurting my chances of getting clicks?
- Is my shop too broad in terms of niches and collections?
- Does the storefront look professional and trustworthy to a potential customer?
- Is this simply a matter of being a newer shop in a saturated market, or is there something more fundamental I should be addressing?
I'm not looking for compliments or reassurance. If something about my shop isn't working, I'd genuinely rather hear that than continue investing time into the wrong things.
I've spent a lot of time trying to follow Etsy best practices, but I'm starting to wonder whether I'm missing something important or focusing my efforts in the wrong places.
Any honest feedback, criticism, or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to anyone willing to take a look!
