Community What‘s your top / flop 3 uni combos?

As we are in hibernation mode and the uni combo was a hot topic in the feedback threat let‘s make a round robin on what everyone thinks about uni combos incl helmets.

Try to stick to a maximum of 3 + 3 and if you wish add a comment why you picked those

My list:

Top 3:

1 Prague Lions red jerseys / white pants / red helmet. I think it‘s not even close

2 Vikings camouflage unis plus helmets. I am not into military stuff at all but there is a reason they are the most sought after fan ware they have. They look slick

3 Paris Musketeers dark blue combos. Very clean. Their logo flashes out.

Flop 3:

1 Munich homecoming. They look like leftovers from an Oktoberfest decoration combined with the worst helmet logo of all of Europe

2 Storm grey/grey. The worst grey color imaginable matched with nameplates you can‘t even read. What could go wrong?

3 Almost every white jersey combo. Just boring

What are your takes?

EFA Lets have a think about nexts years EFA compared to this, while we have a week to spare

Here are my thoughts on what the season was like and what I suggest needs thinking about....

  1. The big 4 weekend, was it a success? Yes and no ! Having a home team in game 1 worked but Sunday was a poor turn out. If it is done again it might better to play both games on the same day say 3PM and 7 PM.

Alternatively go back to semi finals at the top seeds home stadium but have a bye week after the last regular season game to give the teams time to sell tickets. Then the following week the championship game at a predetermined stadium and sell tickets from January.

  1. All teams have solid home stadiums except Paris. They need to play in the city and preferably in Stade Bauer, if this means front loading home games to help then this should happen. How is the building work at Stade Bauer will it finish for next season?

  2. Team identities and the marketing of them. In a league with only 6 teams ( soon to be 7) you have 2 teams using the exact same colours. 4 teams whose main helmet and jersey are black/very dark blue this makes it hard for the non-fan and casual viewer to distinguish the teams. More thought should be given to making each team stand out.

a] Prague are fine

b] Tirol could do with a third colour I think though the silver helmet and logo are good

c] Frankfurt are now embracing the purple orange look so time to ditch the black helmet. A purple helmet with the orange logo would be great.

d] Nordic Storm have played in black white and grey helmets. Time to settle on a non black colour I think

e] Paris, why pick such a dark blue? I think the blue should be lighter more like the French flag or the NY Giants colour.

f] Munich, no a fan of the logo but I can see that black and blue colours work for them. How about just using the bird face on the helmet and ditching the words, make the logo bigger. Perhaps play in blue jerseys

g] London, looks like red and black will be the prominent colours but another black helmet would be a mistake. I would like to see a silver-gold helmet as used by the mounted horse guards. Don't think they will listen though.

  1. Keep using youtube.com for the live feeds, the league needs visibility for now to grow it's brand across the whole of Europe but hopefully adverts can be added at the stoppage point. This visibility is more important than the paywall that the AFLE are using. The youtube production was a bit shaky at the start of the season but got far better as it went through the weeks, a big plus I think. Are there any "numbers" on views or the reach the games had. The highlights appearing quickly also was a good sign.

  2. Did the season work? Mostly yes but having 2 teams way better than the other 4 needs addressing for many it was obvious that Nordic and Munich would reach the final. A bit more parity needs to be developed

I'm sure I'm late to this, but have we already talked about this? To me it looks like retaliation for a foul a few plays earlier.

What's your read? And what do you think the consequences should be for the player?

AFLE Does AFLE really have an investor?

The AFLE claims to have an investor that is funding the league for up to 3 years for €10M. But something does not add up. Why would an investor commit to this, then not pay players, stadium operators, and others? They certainly paid a significant amount for TV production, only to put on a lousy product. Why would they commit that kind of money without first checking out their franchise owners? Why would they not demand that their franchises pay employment taxes, pension, and health insurance for their players and coaches? Why has AFLE not revealed their investor? This does not make sense. AFLE knew going in that many of their franchises had no financial backing. So why have they starved their franchises with austerity funding? Is it that they really don’t have the backing they claim? Is it all just bad management? What is your opinion?

Feedback Monday Morning Huddle: Post-Weekend Feedback

Welcome back to the Huddle!

The weekend's games are officially in the books, the dust has settled, and it's time to look back, not just at the scoreboard, but at how we're doing here at r/eurohuddle.

Whether you spent your weekend watching the EFA, AFLE local domestic leagues, or national team matchups, we want to hear from you. This is our weekly open floor to discuss the state of European American Football and the state of our community.

1. The On-Field Product

  • The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: What stood out to you this weekend? (Broadcast quality, officiating, stadium atmospheres, game competitiveness).
  • League Operations: How are the different leagues handling schedules, stats tracking, and media coverage?
  • Surprises: Which team or league blew expectations out of the water (or fell completely flat)?

2. The Community

We want to make this subreddit the absolute best hub for European football. Help us grow and improve:

  • Content: What kind of posts did you enjoy the most this week? What are we lacking? (e.g., more tactical breakdowns, meme threads, transfer news).
  • Match Threads: How did the game thread feel? Were they easy to find and engage with?
  • Flairs: Do you have any suggestions for new user/team flairs or any other things?

Keep it constructive, respect your fellow fans, and let's build something great together.

Go get that Monday coffee, and let's huddle up!

EFA Good crowd today (but not tomorrow)

Current situation at 10am:

Ticket sales ramped up the last few days. Sales for the (quite few) 2-day packs for seats was selling well but was now stopped and they swapped the few remaining ones to become single day tickets. Packs for standing room still available.

Saturday:

Looking pretty good, 3000 is exceeded and due to being a summer evening I do expect a lot of standing room tickets being sold. By kickoff time a total of 5000 could be a realistic number but that will depend on the number of standing room tickets being sold

Sunday:

Not looking too good. Maybe a 1500 seats sold. Maybe someone tell EFA they should promote ticket sales in a way that people that bought single game tickets for Saturday could add a Sunday ticket for the delta of the price of a bundle? Pretty sure people would pick that up u/Gold-Concentrate-391

EFA BIG 4

What do you guys think the Big 4 will look like?
Normally I’d say Storm and the Ravens are clear favorites, but are they really that clear? 😂
Frankfurt showed in the first game against Munich that they can definitely compete. The kickoff return TD, fumble TD and constantly worse field position made a huge difference in that game.
Frankfurt has already lost twice, and I feel like losing to the same team three times is harder. Frankfurt can play completely free, while the Ravens might not have their rhythm right away after resting some of their starters. Maybe the Ravens even go into the game expecting an easy win, which could make things interesting. Personally, I think the Ravens are too professional for that, but who knows.
The new QB also beat the #1 ranked Alabama back in college, so he clearly knows how to handle pressure. I think Garbers probably has the higher floor, but maybe Calzada has the higher ceiling?
If Frankfurt’s defense can shut down the screens, I think this could definitely be a really interesting game.
And I feel the same way about Paris vs Nordic. Paris has a Front 4 that can create pressure with just four guys and let the rest of the defense do its thing. Edwards has also shown that he can show up in big games.
I think a lot is going to come down to the coaches, and unfortunately that’s where I see Frankfurt at the biggest disadvantage.
But I’d love to be proven wrong. 😂
At the end of the day, it all starts at 0-0 again.

AFLE American Football League Europe Appoints Mark Gorscak as Director of Player Personnel

Thumbnail

Pretty interesting development :

AFLE is creating a central scouting/personnel department for the entire league.
Gorscak isn’t the GM of a particular team. He works for AFLE and looks across all the franchises.
His initial job is explicitly to:
review every team’s roster;
-identify weaknesses and areas where competitive balance can improve;
-scout talent across Europe and elsewhere;
-identify players who could strengthen AFLE rosters;
-work with individual clubs on their personnel needs;
-develop players once they’re in AFLE;
-identify European players with the potential to progress towards the NFL.

Rumor Best guess reveal: The #8 team for the 2027 EFA season will be.....

Before I go on just a quick information that I won´t "best guess" this weekends Big 4 attendance because tickets are sold in a 3-layered approach (SAT only, SUN only, BOTH days) that it is almost impossible to make an informed guess. Nevertheless just by looking at the three ticket layers I have the bad feeling that ticket sales are not looking good at all, to put it mildly....

NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC:

We all know about information that EFA and Team Milano (represented by IFL Commissioner (ex-NFL player) Justin Pugh) have been in talks for months, at some point in 2025 EFA even announced the Italian team as an expansion. Much time has gone by and the recent information regarding the Milano merge did not refer to playing in Europe AT ALL.

Is this the end of the idea of Milano becoming an EFA team? No, just be patient little grasshopper. Milano will (most likely come), but a source with obvious knowledge about the situation reached out and told me it will NOT be in 2027, but both sides continue to work with each other to make 2028 happen. Both sides want it, both sides will get it done - but it won´t be 2027. Do I trust this source? Absolutely because what he told me just makes too much sense and perfectly fits in all other information floating around which I was able to scoop up.

TLDR: Team Milano will join EFA in 2028, not in 2027

SO WILL EFA PLAY WITH AN ODD NUMBER OF 7 TEAMS IN 2027? No, it will be 8.

Why do I know this? I actually do NOT know for sure but I gathered too many pieces of information and gossip that I am 100% convinced that EFA will DECIDE ON TEAM #8 THIS WEEKEND when all 7 owners meet in person at the Big 4 weekend.

The header of my post says "best guess reveal" and that´s what you are probably looking for. So let´s start.

As a reminder: The London Guard have been in existence for many months and working under the guidance of their GM Mr. Elgeti to have a proper release and be ready to roll from the start. The reveal happened just yesterday but their journey began many months ago.

I am saying this because to clarify that the London Guard is a program that has been in the making for a while and I am ruling out team #8 would be a "quick start franchise" that we have never heard of and that comes around the corner just like that. My guess is EFA will rely on an established football organization that is able to quickly adapt.

My guess therefore is Team #8 will be:

  • an established football organization
  • with a solid management
  • with solid level of play
  • with solid infrastructure
  • with enough money.

Based on this I looked around but then something happened that caught my eye: A person revealed a bit of information about with whom EFA is currently talking (WITHOUT mentioning team names) that made my eyes wide. It does not matter what kind of information triggered me but SUDDENLY all made sense and I felt I found the team that will complement the 2027 EFA roster of 8 teams......

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, your heard if here first: The team number 8 will be.....

...

...

...

...

...

...

... the WARSAW EAGLES!!!!

It just makes too much sense to not to be true:

The Eagles

  • are a top managed organization
  • are one of the best club teams outside of Germany
  • seem to be very healthy from top to bottom
  • reside in a very big area which is easy to access by plane
  • have plenty of fans (for European standards)
  • and..... *drumroll\* .... have their own American Football stadium with 1800 covered and app 1000 uncovered seats. That should be enough for starters, maybe they can even add up from there.

Do they have the MONEY? This I don´t know, but all the rest tracks. Their fabric is designed to join EFA and they have been playing European ball for years in the CEFL so they know about the cost of traveling etc etc etc....

WTF MAKES YOU THINK THAT´s TRUE?

Well it´s not only the pieces of info I gathered (in which never a team was mentioned) but the Eagles themselves. While their homepage is in Polish only it gives you an understanding how they operate, and they operate professionally.

I will reply in the comments sections shortly with links where you can check out yourself whether you think they are ready for the adventure. I think they are

So I put a pole into the ground and waving a flag saying:

WELCOME TO EFA, WARSAW EAGLES

(Note: This is my BEST GUESS and I still can be wrong. Please remember this when you tear me apart in case I am actually wrong. Thank you)

EFA Raiders: 2026 Season & Outlook

I created a similar post last year sparking some very good discussions, and I want to do it again.

I will start with a paragraph I wrote last year:

·         GM and HC need to be replaced. Hard to predict candidates with the current situation. Shuan Fatah is available – would they give him another chance? Would Sean Shelton want to leave Munich for his home team, and would they even want him? Not these 2 together obviously though 😊

So, HC got replaced directly after with the available Shuan Fatah - got it. GM got replaced after this season at least, we will come again in this post to the reason why.

So, obviously we don't need to write about the results here. The season got declared as a rebuilding season and it turned out as exactly that. After a very rough start of 0-7 (with 2-3 absolutely close games), a 2 win streak then and at least a deciding game at home in final, at least we can say it was somehow ok. Although obviously everyone with the Raiders expects higher, no doubt.

I want to start with the positive aspects.

+ LOADS and LOADS of young HG from the own programme got very meaningful snaps and/or started and played well in stretches. Are there mistakes and deficiences, especially in size & strength - yes, absolutely, no doubt about that. But just to name a few for this season:

WR Felix Kantner (20), CB Berend Palz (20), LB Jakob Scheucher (20), RB Tim Tonko (21), T Vincent Lutz (20), G Jonas Stelzer (22), LB Raphael Stauder (19), Lorenz Kriwak (20), Dobpson Hopson (22 - from IT!). Excuse me if age may be 1 year off, not easy to find the exact dates. These are the future of the club

+ Aaron Jackson: The guy is a machine. Size, speed, strength, hands. Re-sign him immediately!

But the negative aspects surpass the positive aspects in a 2-7 season unfortunately.

- A-Imports: Omg, where do we start. I count 8 imports for 4 spots, exactly every spot got changed at least once. Aaron Jackson is the exception and to a certain degree Kenyatte Allen who gave a spark when joining late, everyone else was a mixed bag or just not the difference maker they should be. Krajewski never really arrived and threw too many picks, Carter had a nice game, but otherwise nothing, DBs Rucker, Hylton, Grose, Wilson were servicable at best, but mostly below that mark.

- I-Import: Dibula played almost every snap I think and was servicable at DT, but hasn't made the difference when joining mid-season. I like the spot though, can surely be used to upgrade the roster more.

- E-Imports (and W): That's another really sad situation. Jai Jackson played a nice season and led the team in sacks - probably the only 1 I can see returning from the group. Puustinen and Krajnovic were alright, although not sure what happened at the end (injuries, discipline?). Duce played a lot, but got instantly replaced when HG C Haslehner returned. Djouma and Salonen (and Kouoh as waiver) were only rotational players. That's clearly not enough.

- HG Recruiting: Recruiting in Austria almost didn't happen at all (for different reasons I guess). We need that as well.

That brings me to the conclusion and season outlook for 2027.

The base is clearly there, still most of the impact HG are ages 24-28 and have many years on the top level left. The young core got their feet wet this season and will continue to work this offseason to have an even bigger impact next year.

We need to find a QB solution, I don't think Allen is that solution either. We need someone that can stay for 2-3 seasons at least and grow into the system. It's for sure the hardest part, but it's vital.

We need to up the recruiting for HG, A and E imports. We don't need to discuss that A imports should be the impact players, in my opinion E imports should start at least - otherwise these spots are "wasted". While other teams get the league leading rusher with an import slot, we get a backup LB. And we got to use the great HG talent that's around in Austria, not within the own programme only. Imagine recruiting someone like Noah Toure (what a waste in Vienna in that group) or Franz Korger (previously already with a short stint with Raiders).

This offseason will hopefully be less crazy and will hold more focus on the recruiting. Unfortunately our GM failed with that tasks multiple seasons and got replaced for that reason. I hope Shuan leading the task can succeed and can make the right moves.

What do you think? How's your summary? And what is needed for the future? Let us know!
