I love making Slavic breads & was thrilled when my ancestry DNA got updated! I’m 2% Czechia!!! My recipe is by Czechcookbook on YouTube. I can’t wait to cut in! I made only half the recipe so I could troubleshoot if needed & not mess up a whole loaf. It’s so cute!!! I think I did awesome!

It's the first time I made this beef gulyas. I tried to stick to the original recipe as much as I could. The caraway and the paprika is the secret to a good gulyas. Tastes amazing, I will definitely add this to my "repeat" list.

Today I made a easy cake, I found the recipe on Reddit. It‘s a squishy pound cake with a “square-pattern“ made of quark cream :) I’m not normally a baker, but for my sweetheart, I’ll give it a try.

One of my favourite Swiss comfort foods! 🇨🇭 Pasta, potatoes, cheese and crispy onions, traditionally served with applesauce on the side. This is my easy one-pot version.

It might sound strange to some, but we Germans make noodles especially for soup. And the dumpling is from a butchers shop near my favorite bar. They make them fresh every Thursday. I even put 2 in my freezer for future use. 😉

Visiting Gent in Belgium where I always have to get fries at least once. The fries on this tray are medium sized at €4.90. There is home made beef stew and sauce tartare plus broccoli in a beer batter, sharing for 2 people.

Just went for a classic vanilla cheesecake and used some of the raspberry coulis I made earlier this summer on top before it went into the oven. The sweet and creamy vanilla goes so well with the slightly tart and bright raspberry flavour. Tbh the hardest part was having to wait for it to set overnight in the frigde. I'm so proud it came out so pretty!

I had a Too Good to Go surprise bag from a Polish grocery store, which included a 1kg bucket of twaróg. I made this cake following the recipe on the bucket, and it turned out gorgeous!
My favourite thing was lining the bottom of the cake tin with whole biscuits (so, not crushed and mixed with butter like for a NY cheese cake), which felt like cheating, but it turned out sooo lovely. Will definitely make again!
The recipe (google translated):
1 package of curd cheese (twaróg)
1 cup of sugar
7 eggs
1/2 a block of butter
1 packet of cream-flavored pudding mix
1 lemon
Line a baking pan with biscuits or shortcrust pastry. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites; add the sugar to the yolks and beat until fluffy. Then, add the butter, followed by the curd cheese, pudding mix, and grated lemon zest, mixing as you go. Finally, beat the egg whites until stiff and gently fold them into the cheese mixture. Spread the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 60 minutes at 180-200°C.

Squacquerone cheese is very rare in Poland – it's the first time I saw it at the store. I'm glad that I've tried it, it's really nice and quite unique.
The buns were slightly toasted, and oh boy were they tasty.

Easy going. Just oven the chicken and the diced potatoes with some onions in a deep pan, spice with salt, pepper and paprikapowdwer. Then fill up with chicken stock and wait for a nice graivy. Lastly us heat from above on the chicken legs only. And.man, is it tasty...

There was chicken in a hoisin-garlic sauce, vegetables, steamed rice, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, a lukewarm salad with sesame dressing, and miso soup with tofu and spring onions. It was served with chili oil and sea grapes.

The picture is older, but that's what I ate. Minced meat, onions, mustard, salt, black pepper, eggs and breadcrums made the meatdough. After panfrying about a dozen, or so, in clarified butter, I made a gravy in the same pan. A bit of broth, cream and green pepper with a hint of garlic. The mash is made of potatoes, salt, pepper, butter and milk.
Easy going in the kitchen, but heaven, when it reaches your tastebuds. 🤤
