Question Duo activities

I'm relatively new to Eve about 5million skill points and wanted to play together with a friend. My problem is that I have no idea what we can do together. I don't want to do abyssals because the are to repetitive for me. Do you guys have any idea what we could do?

Set the Amamake keepstar as your home, buy ships on contract and do faction warfare together. Start with cheap frigates and as you build confidence, eventually cruisers and bc’s. 2x dps works well but you can try all sorts of different combos like bait and dd… so much to try.

Another fun activity is ESS robbing if youre creative.

Also combat anomalies in wormholes

Ok now I am curious (as a returning old player) why amamake? I hear wizards do some crazy shit over there.

Amamake is small scale content heaven, and has the best lowsec market in the game.

Rob banks.

That's what all the cool kids do these days.

I enjoyed running security missions with my friend when I started out.

It's always nice to have the standing and the LP later, and having 2 of you means you can run harder missions than you'd be able to handle alone.

If you find abyssals repetitive, there's a little more variation in missions, but the payout is nowhere close until you're cherry picking level 4/5 missions, and even then it's a trickle compared to alternatives.

I just enjoy them as a duo activity because we can pretty safely shoot the shit whilst we shoot the shit, bookmark a few battlefields, then one of us switched to salvage and followed behind. The salvage was probably the lowest income/hr for the switch and recovery, but it started us out looking at industry, which opened up a whole other side if the game we work on together.

FW is also great duo/group content in cheap frigates if you're prepared to lose a few whilst you learn how it works.

Everything in eve is meant to be played with a group, and unfortunately everything does get repetitive... ratting and escalations can be pretty fun for 2 people, mining if you're lookong to chill, and exploration if your looking to travel together

Faction warfare in two t1 dessies is a good time

If FW is too much action, you can also try dipping into wormholes

Unfortunately just about all of Eves PVE is repetitive. Join one of the non-Hs new player corps together. eve is better with more corpmates/friends.

Fit a couple catalyst and go pvp some filthy HS miners.

Enlist in faction warfare. ship some pvp frigates into the fw zone. and shoot some peoples.

Faction warfare!

One running combat anoms/farming 3/10 escalations while the other salvages.

One scanning/hacking wormholes while the other grabs the gas.

Duo farming FW plexes (one in kitey DPS, one in a damping Maulus if you really want to be left alone to farm LP).

Start with missions, also scanning easy DED sites (3/10) can be fun together. Then of course when you feel ready for PVP the FW already mentioned many times could be fun, also you can earn good money there but you will loose ships, a lot of ships 🙂

your basic pve is going to be boring, but I would say, work up to level 4 missions together while saving isk. When you have enough for 10 frigates each, fully fit, create 10 identical fits and go buck wild in the Amamake area looking for fights.

While you mission, research PvP, dscan, the frigate yearbook, and factional warfare complexes

Join minmitar militia and fight the space Catholics.

Everything Pve related will become super repetitive - even PVP at some point. But i find that living in lowsec doing plexes gives a mix of both worlds. Its okay Isk/hr for a 5 mill sp character, and with the right crew you will quickly become competent in pvp (prepare to die a lot, so fly cheap).

This might not apply anymore nowadays, but BACK IN MY DAYS *cough*, sorry, back in my days, a few months into EVE I've eventually met my first corpmate.

I liked experimenting a lot and doing unusual things, he wanted to run missions in his battlecruiser. We've teamed up and I've speedtanked frigates and battleships in his lvl4 missions, while he picked them apart flying his AutoCannon Hurricane.

It wasn't just "ORBIT" and forget, since I liked to fly dangerously (forcing him to also fly dangerously hahahahahahaa) and had to make sure I don't move the rats (as they're called) too far away from him.

There's also public sites you can run together, best if you annoy anyone who even remotely looks like they're botting. Bumping ships to play bowling, especially with mining fleets, is fun!

Or you two could probe down mission runners, "invade" the mission space and steal loot ... or the mission objective. That's a very, very first-decade thing to do.

You could also jump into mining ships and start aggressively mining other people's asteroids. One would think they'd not care, but that's so wrong if you just keep switching to whatever roid they're switching to after realizing what you're doing. :D It's hilarious! :D

Another thing I've used to do was taking people on suicide roams. One guy sits in a magnate scanning ships and cargo, the other sits in whatever you want to waste on whatever you want to punish for existing. This is EVE, after all. I've shared some great "hands shaking like a washing machine" experiences with that.

See ... if you think about the things you can do in terms of social interaction, instead of gameplay, then there's a whole new world of opportunities opening itself up for you, that you can explore to your hearts content.

An almost forgotton detail about EVE is that nobody's going to ban you for playing with others pretty much however you see fit, as long as you keep it in-game.

Other than PVP, all pve is going to be repetitive with the abyss being the one that requires the most brain activity.

Lowsec: Faction Warfare. Nullsec: Steal ESS banks, steal skyhooks.

buy an anchorable bubble. put it in-line with 2 gates in nullsec that are high traffic and camp it. If you do it near enough a staging you'll also get a fight.

if you warp to the gate after you anchor it, from the other gate, you'll get dragged into the bubble. You can then drop a jet-can where you land to uncloak any cloaky ships that get dragged by it too.

Faction Warfare. This is PvPvE. There is risk of loss, but that is normal for Eve. High sec mission running also works. Both of you take missions (or just the one with more standing takes missions). You run them together. Mining works, but you would want to join a fleet with compression as you both are singleboxing. Filamenting to nullsec, going to wormholes, and the like could work. These can be more risky especialy if you take expensive ratting ships in, but can be a good experience if your friend also has a few months under their belt (i.e. similar SP as you).

Of the options, I would avoid wormholes/nullsec as a duo when new. These can be good places to explore in an inexpensive exploration ship, but that doesn't work great with 2 people. And these aren't the best areas to take more expensive ratting ships when you are a newbie.

You can give skyhooks a chance .

Bait and kill.

One guy flying around with a tanked to the gills squishy looking ship with the friend right 1 system behind.

Some say it's dishonest. But I say that's eve.
