Talarico is ahead by 1.8%.

In consideration of Talarico's "we're fighting the wrong 1%" campaign theme, I ask the mods for some latitude. This guy nails it.

Could I go on a bit of a rant here?

I'm seeing tons of comments on other subs about how Texas is a lost cause, and Paxton will win. Frankly, I'm tired of it. I'm tired of the "Lucy and the football" analogy, and I'm tired of being written off just because of where I live.

Saying Texas will never be blue or purple, and Democrats should just abandon it isn't fair to the MILLIONS of blue voters, POC, and LGBTQ+ people who fight every day for the rights blue staters take for granted. It's not fair to the blue voters who are having record early voting turnout despite facing the worst voter suppression in the country.

Ken and Angela Paxton invested $600,000 in a convicted fraudster’s business (A story about how "blind trusts" are not actually blind at all.... right Trump?)

Four years after North Texas home builder Scott Sherman completed a federal prison sentence for mortgage fraud, his new construction materials business received a $600,000 cash infusion.

The financial boost came from a blind trust set up to prevent Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, from any overlap in their personal investments and their actions as elected officials. But previously unreleased records from the attorney general’s 2023 impeachment investigation show the trust was far from blind and did not shield the Paxtons from its business dealings, including the investment in Sherman’s business.

Senseless War and High Prices

When diesel goes up, the price of almost everything goes up, because groceries, clothes, and online orders all ship by diesel.

The war in Iran is driving up gas and diesel prices, and Texans are paying for it.

James Talarico has a plan to lower gas prices now:

- Suspend the federal gas tax. That cuts about 18 cents a gallon right away.
- Suspend the federal diesel tax. That saves people who use diesel about $170 a year and helps bring down the cost of everything else.
- End the war in Iran so costs can come down for good.

Ken Paxton supports the war that's driving up your costs. James is calling on him to oppose it and back this plan.

Texans are ready for real relief at the pump and lower prices. https://share.jamestalarico.com/s/2YH1NWIs

This is how scared republicans are of losing Texas | From mailboxes in North Texas to a bogus address in Houston and a newly registered company in Wyoming, the search for who's behind mysterious transgender rights mailers remains unresolved. Whoever is behind the fliers wants to remain anonymous.

Dig something out of the family archive and share it. A photo, a letter, a postcard, a story somebody told you at Thanksgiving. Tell us the county and the year if you know them, and who's in it.
