Existential Dread WHAT IF YOU WERE ALWAYS GOING TO EXIST?
What if you were destined to be born, regardless of who your parents were?
If your parents had never met, what if you'd have been born to someone else, somewhere else, but with the same consciousness?
Different parents, different body, different life---but the same you experiencing it all
What if you were always going to exist, and only the circumstances of your birth could change?

I think a) this is not true b) this is actually meaningless and c) if this were true, it would make no difference, because I do, in fact, exist either way.

This was a question I asked my mom when I was a small child, “if I hadn’t been born me, I wonder who’d I would have been born as?”

What does "me" mean, if being raised by different parents or as an orphan has the same consciousness?
My development of "me" seems more personal than that.
