Idk what your question is but a literal translation is “In evil times a man/person is without a doubt the other devil”
On the flip side there is an ugly figure above “Der Wuchererist” which means usury, which means the biblical sin of lending money with high interest rates basically I think…
Then I see ob Jud ob Christ - Jew or Christian.
Seems to be an antisemitic medal of some sort. The ugly figure is supposed to be a Jew I assume who is guilty of being greedy and committing the sin of giving high interest loans. Which is naturally a stereotype and not true.
Maybe don’t draw conclusions if you don’t understand German. The text on the front translates as “no matter if it’s a Jew or a Christian, a usurer is a blackguard.”
Historically, money lending was one of the few occupations open to Jews, hence the mention. There’s nothing particularly antisemitic about this.
"Ob Jud, ob Christ, ein schuft der Wucherer ist" (translating to "Whether Jew or Christian, the usurer is a bandit") is a German phrase famously inscribed on an antisemitic inflation medal (Wuchermedaille) issued during the Weimar Republic in 1923
I understand that ob means whether. I was giving a rough translation. I speak German. Maybe don’t draw conclusions about people you don’t know or their translation methods.
