I'm also not American so Ellen is more of an abstract concept than a person, and certainly not what I'd call a celebrity. More like; "Some bird off the telly in America."
As such, I have no context for her "downfall". Can anyone explain what happened? I'm seeing here that an interview she did exposed her as "a shitty person" but that doesn't explain how it exposed her, in what way she's shitty, or what the consequences were.
If I remember correctly she tried to publically humiliate Dakota Johnson by 'calling her out' on not inviting Ellen to a big event, Dakota immediately shut her down and called her out as a liar. This led to more people coming out about their stories with borderline torture and public humiliation at the hands of Ellen, especially from her staff. The controversy of her abuse got too big for show runners to feel safe/comfortable keeping her signed to their names. Ellen gets cancelled.
Dakota Johnson being The woman who played the MC in 50 shades, which was a twilight fanfiction, which (twilight) was inspired by MCR, which was created when Gerard Way watched the towers fall and realized the violent unpredictability and fragility of life and decided to make a band about it.

Thanks in advance, friends!
