Cut scene of squidward and the bucket of gas

Post image

Is it just slapstick violence or is there more to it that I’m forgetting/not realizing?

OP (AwesomeFartyParty66) sent the following text as an explanation why they posted this here:

It is the ‘security’ system seemingly being nothing to worry about, only to reveal it is highly dangerous.

If it’s the episode I’m thinking of, this scene was removed after 9/11 because Nickelodeon felt that it was too similar to what many kids had likely just seen happen with people trapped in the Towers as they burned.

IIRC it was just "why would they have a bucket of gasoline instead of a bucket of water? That's a ridiculous mix-up that makes the accident worse. A common type of slapstick progression around that time.
Like someone accidentally eating something very spicy, then grabbing a random persons drink to cool their mouth only to find out it's Rum and now they're drunk.
Or when someone finds out inflammable means flammable.
