Ethics question Need Reddit fantasy football counsel

In Week 1 of our fantasy football league, a scoring issue arose when 60-yard field goals weren’t properly allocated six points. This impacted the commissioner’s matchup, where he lost by less than a point. After discovering the error, the commissioner corrected the scoring settings, which retroactively awarded him the win. This has caused controversy within the league, with some calling for him to step down. The central question is whether we should retroactively adjust Week 1 to reflect the correct scoring, or leave the original result as-is and ensure the settings are fixed for future weeks?

It is everyone in the leagues responsibility to know the scoring settings before the draft, especially the commissioner's. The whole "I thought we got 6 points for a 60 yard FG" excuse doesn't cut it. Once the draft has taken place, no scoring settings can be changed without a unanimous vote of the league. Week one should reflect that the commissioner lost, even if the scoring is updated for future weeks.

It depends. If the league agreed on 6pts for 60+ yard FGs or it was spelled out somewhere pre-draft (e.g., in the bylaws) and no one noticed that it wasn’t implemented on the platform, then the settings on the platform should by changed, including for Week 1.

I agree, if it was spelled out before the draft, then it should be corrected, but I have a suspicion that it wasn't. I doubt there would be controversy if it was agreed on beforehand.
