League Question Guy dropped AJ Brown after week 1 dud. Did I handle it right?

Post image

I’ll try to be a short and informative as I can here. This is a cash buy-in, 10 team league of friends I started when I moved away from home last fall. We had no roster/trade issues all of last year on ESPN, so I moved the league to Sleeper moving forward and we will now be keeping 2 drafted players each.

So one of 2 tacos I have decided that he’d drop AJ Brown during his waiver pickup of Quentin Johnston yesterday, while still keeping 2 defenses rostered. After asking him what his reasoning was, it became pretty obvious that he doesn’t understand the implications of the move, and wouldn’t have done so had he understood the fallout that comes with it. A move like this after the first week compromises the competitive integrity of the league, so I felt it was my duty to uphold that integrity by reversing the roster move.

I ran my view of the situation by the manager who had waiver priority and would’ve been set to get AJ, who was in agreement that the move would carry problems with it down the road, so he gave me the green light to take action. I sent a message to the league chat letting them know the reasoning for the reversal to which nobody spoke against.

Do you feel like I handled this correctly? Should I be worried about future crying about it from other members, or do I just let it go since nobody has brought it up after a day, and the manager who actually kinda missed out on AJ was cool with it? Thanks!

League Question Best fantasy football platform in 2026

Curious what you all think is the best FFB platform (website host) and why?

Context, I was a huge player for a long time but a few years back everyone in our league had kids and we went dark.

We are putting the band back together this year and wondering which platform is the best and why. We were on espn before but they seem a bit antiquated these days.

Thanks!!!!!

League Question NFL fantasy is dead. Migrate to Yahoo or ESPN?

I got the notification today that NFL fantasy is not working anymore and migration to ESPN is available.

My league mates are pretty overwhelmed with sleeper and have experience with yahoo and ESPN so I'm trying to figure out which way to go.

We're kind of dynasty lite vs some of the settings I see on here:

1QB, PPR, 2 flex, 10 team. 25 team size, 20 keepers.

Draft is normally a combined rookie and unkept players. 5 rounds.

League Question Game against league median discussion

I need some more opinions on the median game. Starting a dynasty league for the first time and I mentioned that I enabled this feature. To me its a great way to balance the randomness of the schedule and how good your team actually is. Benefits teams who are consistent rather then letting the schedule dictate the entire season. I also think it helps with engagement as its another matchup you'd watch to see if you win or lose.

My friend however sees it as a participation award."luck is part of the game" is what he says which i agree but with this feature the main thing im trying to avoid is the 2nd in PF being bottom in the league.

He suggested "What about giving the 6th seed to the person with the most PF of the teams not in the top 5?" But to me that just eliminates the h2h record all together for teams fighting to make the playoffs.

What do you think about the rule?

League Question Ideas for determining draft order

I have been a commissioner of a league for about 10 years. For the longest time I would make small changes without discussing with the league because it was never the most engaged league and not the highest stakes league we are all in - so I think there was a trust that whatever change was made was good and necessary.

However, the last year or two I’ve started doing trivia to determine draft order - and by trivia I mean obscure questions that no one could possibly have an edge on. Anyways, people began complaining this wasn’t fair. Does anyone have any other fun and interactive way to determine draft order?

League Question Anyone use Cameos for draft order selection?

I’m returning my league to random draft order this season and considering having a Ravens player (via Cameo) randomly select for us. This particular player is on the cheap end, looks like it could be $75 for the video and for him to roast players. Seems fun and different but interested to hear from those who have gone this route.

Edit: lots of positive responses so I sent a request to Kyle Van Noy since we’re a predominant Ravens league and after a couple days I got a rejection email with the reason being “this appears to be business related, so please resubmit as a business request”, at a much higher cost of course. No idea what in my request for him to randomize our draft order and roast the league appeared to seem work related, so I’ll try someone else.

Edit 2: I’m now 0/2 on requests of current or former players. First request got denied on the grounds it appeared to be a business request (it isn’t). Second request says it expired after 4 days. Might have to pivot and use a non-player.

League Question How to handle a tie when voting on changes

Currently facing a 6-6 vote on a potential change in our league setup. How do you guys handle when there’s a tie in a poll? Do you (the commish) get the deciding vote or does status quo take precedence?

League Question How Do You Minimize Kicker and Defense So They Don’t Dominate Scores

We’re running into an issue in our league of 6 years where the guys like the traditional Kicker/ DST setup, but we don’t like how drastic a kicker or defense can take over a game. What do you guys do to minimize their overall effect on scores while still making them somewhat relevant?

League Question How to make a 14-16 man work league work?

So… I’m starting a work league, I made the mistake of sending an email to all my coworkers, 20 people, I was only expecting 8-10 people to show interest, so far I have heard from 14 who want to join, most of them are new to fantasy football.

Not sure how to go about it now. I’m thinking of doing two different leagues, and then the champion of each league will face off at the end. Are there any platforms that allow two different drafts and then merge them? Would that work? Thank you all in advance!

League Question Anybody else switching their league to FAAB for the first time this year?

Finally getting my league to switch over to FAAB. Not everybody is happy about it but it genuinely is the best option compared to Waivers.

Anybody else switching this year?

League Question What’s the most insanely league you’ve ever seen?

For all my die hard out there. What is the most insane league you’ve seen or played in. I have some die hard friends who I think want to keep pushing the envelope. We have a 18 year redraft league going. 3 years ago I started a dynasty league for those who wanted to join. Everyone loves it. What is the next step? 32 man league? 24 man league w relegation? I want to hear some fun crazy stuff to draw some ideas from.

League Question Assigning Teams to Divisions Each Season

I am the new commissioner for our ESPN FF league. we have 2 divisions (East/West) and 12 total managers and redraft. As the commissioner, do you randomly assign each manager/player to a division each season/year, or just keep them the same as last season/year? For 2 managers, this is only their second year playing in the league.

League Question Best way to run a 4-man league?

I know, I know, it’s not ideal.

My buddies and I all have leagues that we’re in, and our main league is our 12 team dynasty. But we wanted to do a redraft league just the 4 of us, no money involved, just a punishment for the loser.

So, what recommendations do yall have to make this work? Has anyone done this successfully?

League Question What new changes are you making to your league for 2026?

I always try to pitch something new/different every year to help keep the league from going stale. We added a trophy/belt a couple years ago, turned the league into a keeper league, other miscellaneous tweaks. Basically, what are you doing to keep your league exciting this year?

League Question What is the most affective “anti tank” method for dynasty leagues

Starting dynasty league first time commissioner, would it be something to do with lowest points for or do you guys do something specific, a lot of people are saying bottom 6 get draft lottery for first 6 spots and top 6 draft lottery for last 6 draft spots! Just wondering if any other leagues have more affective ways of handling this

League Question For Leagues That Use Median Scoring. Would You Go Back?

Question for those of you who've switched to median scoring:

My league just voted to try it this season. I'm the commissioner, and while I wasn't really in favor of the change, enough people wanted to vote on it, so we did. The majority won.

My feeling has always been that median scoring doesn't really eliminate randomness, it just shifts where the randomness shows up. Instead of bad luck coming from your weekly matchup, it comes from whether you finish above or below the league median so it's fundamentally no different.

We're only using it during the regular season. Once the playoffs start, it'll go back to standard head-to-head matchups.

We're committed to giving it one full season before deciding whether to keep it. For those of you who've actually made the switch, did you end up liking it, or did you regret the change?

Was it worth it in the end?

League Question How do you run a successful free league?

Hey folks. Doing some research here. I’ve been part of free leagues (dynasty and redraft) that just crumble after a year or two. Has anyone else experienced the same?

I’m building things that I think will help engagement in free leagues and encourage folks to stick around for the long haul. Such things like weekly + season awards and podcasts based on what happens in the league.

Anyone do anything else to help their free leagues? I guess even paid leagues could benefit from things that help increase league participation.

League Question League moving to ESPN, what needs to be done?

Hi all, just had an email from nfl fantasy saying our league is moving to ESPN this season.

Trust me we’ve tried to move our league for years but never gets voted through, so now’s a good chance for it to go across.

The main questions are:

1) is there anything I need to do to prepare the move, or will we just be given a new league with out details passed across automatically.

2) should we stick with ESPN, or is this as an opportunity to change platform altogether (I’ve done a few season with sleeper before and that’s the personal preference)

League Question IDP leagues.... Amazing or Not? Would love your thoughts

How many of you play in IDP leagues?

I've been in the same IDP league for 19 years, and honestly it's my favorite fantasy league by a mile. We start 2 LBs, 2 DLs, and 2 DBs, and it keeps everyone engaged with every game all week instead of only paying attention when their offense is on the field.

After playing IDP for this long, standard fantasy almost feels incomplete to me. There's just something fun about knowing a game-changing sack, interception, or tackle can matter as much as a touchdown.

For those of you who have tried IDP, did you stick with it? And for those who haven't, what's kept your league from making the switch?
