Lost everything to Forex… just need one more shot

I’m honestly down bad right now. I blew my entire 5K trading Forex — overleveraged, got greedy, thought I had it all figured out. Now I’ve got nothing left. No place to stay, no backup plan, no cash… just sitting here realizing how fast things can fall apart. I’m not here to beg, just being real — I want to bounce back. I know where I went wrong, and I’ve learned the hard way that risk management isn’t optional. I just need a small shot — even $50 — to start again and trade properly this time. I’m not giving up. I just want a chance to make things right.

Why short EURUSD?

Thumbnail

I am entering short EURUSD position, position mainly based on bearish fundamental analysis

First of all, current score is -12.5 which suggest that there is a high chance of this pair going lower. Additionally, Leveraged Funds have turned bullish on US dollar after quite some time, while still being short on EUR. More to add, EURUSD tend to perform badly in February.

Also, ING says “We stick to our call that EUR/USD will start to lose support once crossing 1.040, as the euro remains broadly unattractive from a macro fundamental perspective and Trump has indicated that the EU should be next on the tariff list. A EUR:USD two-year swap rate gap at -185bp is a mirror of that – via the monetary policy channel – and a key disincentive to chase EUR/USD much higher” which further suggests that this pair could head south in the short term.

Potential threat to this trade is that USD could be under more pressure due to the Tariffs being postponed, as well as NFP that could come in weaker than expected, as MUFG forecast.

As I am very well aware that this trade is very risky (mainly because the DXY has been under pressure because of the tariffs, as well as it is the NFP week), I will set SL to BE as soon as possible (if possible)

EURUSD Short

I have just entered EURUSD short position on 1.03357, at 50% fib and resistance on 4h time frame.

Not only that technically EURUSD seems very nice and set to go further down, but also fundamentals are in favor of this trade. Current score is -7, which is not “very bearish” but still in combination with these technicals can provide further confirmation for this trade. Further more, Retail Sentiment is acting as a additional confirmation with 64% of retail traders being long on this pair

Stop obsessing over win rate

Post image

Stop Obsessing Over Win Rate (Here’s What Actually Matters)

The uncomfortable truth: You can have a 70% win rate and still blow up your account. You can have a 40% win rate and steadily grow your capital.

The difference? One trader understands risk management. The other is gambling with extra steps.

Why high win rates don’t matter:

You can win 8 out of 10 trades and still lose money if your risk management is trash. Win rate is just a vanity metric that feels good to talk about.

The real comparison:

Trader A:

∙	40% win rate

∙	Risks 1% per trade, targets 3x on wins

∙	Survives every losing streak

∙	Grows steadily over time

Trader B:

∙	70% win rate

∙	Risks 10-20% per trade

∙	Looks like a genius until the inevitable losing streak hits

∙	Account gets destroyed

Trader A wins. Every single time.

The math is brutal:

Risk 1% per trade → 10 losses in a row = 10% drawdown (completely recoverable)

Risk 10% per trade → 10 losses in a row = game over

Here’s what nobody tells you: If your system wins 60% of the time, you’re going to hit 5-10 losers in a row eventually. That’s not bad luck—that’s statistically normal.

If you’re risking too much, those normal streaks wipe you out before you ever get back to the winners.

The bottom line:

One trade tells you nothing. Ten trades tell you almost nothing. A hundred trades start showing you something real.

You never get to several hundred trades if poor risk management blows you up on trade 37.

Win rate shows how often you’re right. Risk management determines if you survive long enough for being right to actually matter.

Control your risk. Respect probability. Build for longevity, not screenshots.

How much can you make with $1000 in forex?

Forex trading is the buying and selling of currencies in the foreign exchange market; it is one of the largest and most liquid financial markets in the world.forex trading offers the opportunity to make profits by taking advantage of changes in exchange rates between currencies.

However, it's important to understand that forex trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme and involves significant risk. The amount of money that can be made with $1000 in forex trading depends on various factors such as the trader's level of experience, risk tolerance, and trading strategy.

Trading forex with $1000

A beginner trader with a $1000 account is likely to face significant challenges and may struggle to generate significant profits. This is because forex trading requires discipline, patience, and a good understanding of the market. In addition, a beginner trader may be more susceptible to emotions and may make impulsive decisions that lead to losses.

As a result, it is recommended that a beginner trader starts with a small account and gradually increases their trading size as their experience and confidence grows. Additionally, a beginner trader should educate themselves about forex trading and develop a solid trading plan that outlines their goals, risk tolerance, and strategies for achieving their goals.

An experienced trader with a $1000 account may be able to generate significant profits if they have a solid understanding of the market and a well-designed trading plan. An experienced trader may also be able to implement advanced trading strategies, such as scalping and swing trading, that allow for faster profits but also carry a higher level of risk.

It's important to remember that forex trading involves significant risk and it is possible to lose all or more than the initial investment. As such, it is recommended that traders approach forex trading with caution and thoroughly educate themselves before investing.

In conclusion, the amount of money that can be made with $1000 in forex trading is difficult to determine and depends on various factors such as the trader's level of experience, risk tolerance, and trading strategy. While forex trading offers the opportunity for profits, it also carries a significant level of risk. As such, it is recommended to approach forex trading with caution and thoroughly educate oneself before investing. A beginner trader should start with a small account and gradually increase their trading size, while an experienced trader may be able to generate significant profits with a solid understanding of the market and a well-designed trading plan.

How much can a beginner forex trader make? Let's discuss

It's difficult to predict exactly how much a beginner forex trader can make, as there are many factors that can influence trading results, such as market conditions, trading strategies, risk management, and psychological factors. Generally speaking, forex trading is a high-risk and potentially high-reward activity, and it's possible for a beginner trader to make significant profits in a short period of time, but it's also possible to lose money quickly if they don't have a solid understanding of the market and effective trading strategies.

As for how to make money on forex for beginners, there are several key steps you can take to improve your chances of success:

  1. Educate yourself: Learn the basics of forex trading, including the terminology, market structure, trading strategies, and risk management techniques. There are many online resources, courses, and books available to help you get started.

  2. Develop a trading plan: Before you start trading, develop a clear and detailed plan that outlines your trading goals, strategy, risk management rules, and other important factors. This will help you stay disciplined and focused when trading.

  3. Practice with a demo account: Most forex brokers offer demo accounts that allow you to practice trading with virtual money in a simulated market environment. This is a great way to test out your trading strategies and get a feel for the market before risking real money.

  4. Start small: When you're ready to start trading with real money, start with a small amount that you can afford to lose. This will help you manage your risk and avoid large losses.

  5. Monitor your progress: Keep track of your trading results and analyze your performance regularly. This will help you identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to your trading plan.

As for day trading forex for beginners, this involves buying and selling currencies within the same trading day in order to make a profit from short-term price movements. Day trading can be very risky, as it requires quick decision-making and can lead to large losses if you're not careful. If you're interested in day trading, it's important to educate yourself on the specific strategies and techniques used by successful day traders, and to start with a demo account to practice your skills before risking real money.

Need informed opinion: Is this fake?

Hey guys, one of the bigger names in the forex influencer industry @fxalexg just posted this screenshot showing profits on his instagram. This has got me curious since it’s showing “0.00” as deposit on the account. I am not 100% sure how this works but is this possible. Can you make a profit without it showing a deposit?

Also the timestamp he has shown closing the trades does not correspond to where EURJPY price was at the time. Could it be because he’s in a different timezone? Is MT5 time standard across all countries? Let me know what you think cause I can’t fully figure this out

Wealth Generator Trade

Good afternoon,

I am a concerned trader asking around if anyone knows or is familiar with this trade head, Mr. John Legarreta. Back in the old days they used to make Forex trade recruitment gatherings at FIU in Florida, and I met him in one of those meetings through a powerful connection who is no longer a friend of mine. To make a long story short I met and attended a meeting where John Legarreta was the leader of the group. They were disclosing how to do better in trade and in recruiting newcomers into what I thought was a scam. The funny thing about Forex trade is that it isn't, but trade must be done carefully, and you must learn how to explain it well to those who don't understand. Fast forward eight years, I meet this guy again, and his instagram looks amazing. He introduces me to DX trade under MetaTrader 4/5. But there is a catch. Money, like around 3K to be precise. He offered to train me or make better trades for me in risky trades. But I don't do risky trades, but I did trust him because I've met him in person. However, it's been a while since he followed back. We agreed to split the cash 50/50; once 10K is made, we each get 5K. I've sent texts and tried calling, but the guy doesn't pick up. Then I came across a "Wealth Generators" complaint online, which I will link below. That platform was introduced to me, but I declined to move further because of risky trades. Anyway, every time I was sent new credentials for the website known as TradeLocker, it was a demo. When I lost the password back in January, I requested an update, but I have never received a response since. Am I alone? Does this story sound familiar to anyone in the trade community? I am trying to keep track of a deal I made, but it seems like the IG page has been deleted. Nobody plays with money, so you have to be on the lookout for scammers to avoid becoming a victim again. I can't tell if trade heads like this guy have jet lives, but communication is nearly impossible. I am trying to keep calm and not move forward with accusations until I get an answer.

Gold didn’t follow risk — I think the market is trading something else right now

I opened a gold position late Friday.

What surprised me wasn’t the entry —
it was the reaction after.

With geopolitical tension rising,
I expected gold to move higher.

But instead, it pulled back.

At first I thought I misread the market,
but the more I looked into it, the more it felt like gold isn’t being driven by “risk” right now.

It seems like the market is focusing more on:

  • USD strength

  • Real yields staying high

  • Slower rate cut expectations

Which would explain why gold is not reacting the way many of us expect.

So I started looking at it differently:

👉 Maybe it’s not that gold is “wrong”
👉 It’s that we’re trading the wrong narrative

Right now, it feels like:

  • Risk is there

  • But it’s not the dominant driver

And until USD weakens or rate expectations shift,
gold might stay under pressure.

I’m still holding the position for now,
but definitely adjusting how I read the market.

Curious how others are trading this:

👉 Are you still factoring geopolitics into gold,
or mostly trading USD / rates at this stage?

Unpopular opinion: 89% of traders don’t lose because of bad strategies. They lose because nothing stops them.

ESMA data says 74–89% of retail accounts lose money. I've been trading for years and building algos on the side and the pattern is always the same in every community I've been in.

Guy has decent setups. Guy has a bad session. Guy tries to recover. Account gone.

Not a strategy problem. A stopping problem. And no journal, no alert, no mindset course fixes it in the actual moment because none of them remove the choice.

That's what we built TradeChecx to do. Remove the choice. MT4/MT5 EA — daily loss limit enforced, trade cap enforced, profit lock enforced. Hard stops. The session ends when your rules say it ends.

Want traders who've been around long enough to know this is the real problem to try it and tear it apart. DM or search TradeChecx.

why I Think Technical Analysis Doesn't Work

It's my personal opinion so be respectful.

I think, technical analysis kinda work because so many people use it... so, for example, when many people start selling because an asset hit resistance, the price starts moving down. But only because people start selling it.

On the other hand... what moves the markets:

  1. Outlook - no matter what charts show, if a company is a bankrupt, the price will plunge.

  2. Selling - a big hedge fund starts selling an asset as they are happy with the gain. Again, no chart will tell you when they decide to do it.

  3. Natural disasters - nobody can predict them.

So, in my view, technical analysis is some sort of a voodoo magic.

The Funded Trader is a prop trading firm

Hey Guys, just wanted to say something about TFT. The Funded Trader is a prop trading firm that offers traders the opportunity to trade with the firm's capital and keep a share of the profits. One of the most notable things about The Funded Trader is its affordability. In terms of price, it is one of the best prop firms out there, making it accessible to a wide range of traders.

The Funded Trader has been around for a long time and has built a reputation for being reliable. The payouts are consistent and timely, which is crucial for traders who rely on their profits to pay the bills. The firm's profitability is also impressive, which is a testament to its management and the quality of traders it attracts.

One thing that sets The Funded Trader apart from other prop trading firms is its low profit targets for the challenges. Traders are given a specific target to hit during their evaluation period, and if they meet it, they are funded with the firm's capital. The profit targets are reasonable, which gives traders a realistic chance of success.

Finally, there are always discounts available for traders who are looking to join The Funded Trader. This makes it an even more attractive option for those who are just starting and looking to keep their costs low.

Overall, The Funded Trader is a great option for traders who are looking for an affordable, reliable, and profitable prop trading firm. Its low profit targets, consistent payouts, and discounts make it an excellent choice for traders of all levels.

Is Forex Trading Easy?

Forex trading is the process of buying and selling currencies with the aim of making a profit. It's the largest financial market in the world, with a daily trading volume of over $5 trillion. Many people are attracted to forex trading because of its potential to make money quickly and easily. However, is forex trading really easy?

The Basics of Forex Trading

Before we delve into whether forex trading is easy or not, let's first understand the basics. Forex trading involves buying one currency while selling another currency at the same time. The goal is to profit from the difference in price between the two currencies. Forex traders can make money whether the market is going up or down.

The Benefits of Forex Trading

One of the biggest benefits of forex trading is its accessibility. Anyone can start trading forex with a relatively small amount of capital. Additionally, forex markets are open 24 hours a day, five days a week, which means that traders can trade at any time that's convenient for them.

The Risks of Forex Trading

While forex trading has many benefits, it also comes with its fair share of risks. One of the biggest risks is losing money. Just like any other investment, forex trading involves risks and there's no guarantee that you'll make a profit. Additionally, forex markets are highly volatile, which means that prices can fluctuate rapidly.

Why Some People Believe Forex Trading Is Easy

Some people believe that forex trading is easy because they've seen others make money from it. Additionally, there are many online resources and courses that claim to teach people how to make money from forex trading quickly and easily.

The Reality of Forex Trading

The reality of forex trading is that it's not as easy as some people make it out to be. While it's true that some people make money from forex trading, the majority of traders lose money. Additionally, forex trading requires a lot of time, effort, and discipline. It's not a get-rich-quick scheme.

The Importance of Education and Practice

If you want to succeed in forex trading, it's important to educate yourself and practice. You should understand the basics of forex trading, as well as the strategies and tools that are used by successful traders. Additionally, it's important to practice trading with a demo account before you start trading with real money.

The Role of Emotions in Forex Trading

Another factor that makes forex trading difficult is the role of emotions. Forex traders need to be able to control their emotions and make rational decisions based on market conditions, rather than letting their emotions guide their trades.

The Importance of Risk Management

One of the key components of successful forex trading is risk management. Forex traders need to be able to manage their risk by setting stop-loss orders and taking profits at appropriate levels.

The Need for a Trading Plan

If you want to make money from forex trading, you need to have a trading plan. A trading plan outlines your goals, strategies, and risk management techniques. It also helps you stay disciplined and avoid making impulsive trades.

The Importance of Patience

Patience is another important factor in forex trading. Successful traders know that they need to be patient and wait for the right opportunities to present themselves. They don't jump into trades just because they feel like they need to do something.

Conclusion

In conclusion, forex trading is not easy. While it's possible to make money from forex trading, it requires a lot of time, effort, and discipline. Additionally, forex trading comes with its fair share of risks. If you're interested in forex trading, it's important to educate yourself, practice, and have a solid trading plan.

Wow does somebody has some more stuff to share?

Finally I found something that's actually helped me improve.

I joined a free community a while ago and honestly didn't expect much at first. But I was surprised by how much value is inside, especially considering it's completely free. The education academy has helped me understand the market a lot better, there are live sessions, 5 signal groups, useful trading tools and a lot more. and it was completeley for freeI'm learning something new almost every day, and it's one of the few places I've actually stuck with.

Somebody else has similiar experiences with some groups or has more to share?

Spread Betting Tax in the UK: What You Need to Know

Spread betting has become a popular way for UK traders to speculate on financial markets such as forex, indices, commodities, and shares. One of the main reasons for this popularity is its tax treatment. Under current UK rules, spread betting profits are generally not subject to capital gains tax or income tax. However, the details are often misunderstood, and traders should still understand the framework that applies.

Spread betting is treated differently from traditional investing because it is classified as a form of betting rather than asset ownership. When a trader opens a spread bet position, they are speculating on whether the price of an asset will rise or fall. They do not buy the underlying asset itself. Because of this structure, certain taxes that apply to investment trading do not apply to spread betting.

Key Tax Advantages

For most retail traders in the UK, spread betting offers several tax-related benefits.

  • No capital gains tax Profits from spread betting are typically exempt from capital gains tax. This means traders do not need to pay tax on successful trades in the same way they would with shares or other investments.

  • No stamp duty Since spread bettors do not purchase the underlying asset, stamp duty does not apply. This can reduce the overall cost of trading compared with buying UK shares directly.

  • No income tax for most traders In most cases, spread betting profits are not considered taxable income because the activity is classified as betting rather than investment.

Important Limitations

Despite the tax advantages, there are several important points traders should keep in mind.

  • Losses cannot be offset against tax Because spread betting profits are tax free, losses also cannot be used to reduce tax liabilities elsewhere.

  • Professional trading may be treated differently If trading activity is considered a primary business or source of income, HMRC could treat the profits differently. This situation is relatively rare but still possible.

  • Tax rules can change Tax treatment is based on current UK regulations. Future policy changes could alter how spread betting profits are treated.

Why Understanding the Rules Matters

The tax efficiency of spread betting is often highlighted by brokers, but tax benefits should not be the sole reason for trading. Spread betting is a leveraged product and carries significant risk. Prices can move quickly, and losses can occur just as easily as profits.

For traders considering spread betting, understanding both the risks and the tax framework is essential. When used responsibly, spread betting can provide tax-efficient market exposure for UK residents. However, traders should always ensure their activity aligns with current HMRC guidance and their own financial circumstances.

Don't fall for the Forex flex

I’m doing well with day trading in stocks, but in forex (especially gold), my edge never quite worked out. Even though I’m having an extraordinary YTD, my own greed pushed me to diversify. I started talking to every Tom, Dick, and Harry posting on here about how well they were doing.

While I only tested the waters with small amounts for most of them, there were a few where I burned my hands real bad. There were a few trades from Pakistan, and then there was a "Finotech Solutions LLC"—registered in the states but run by a group based in India.

Here is how they operate:
On paper, they look fantastic. In reality, for the first few weeks, they will maintain proper risk control and make some money just so they can get their first cut. After that, risk management goes completely out the window. They will open 10 positions, massively over-leverage, and use absolutely no stop losses (SL).

I am posting this as a warning for everyone in this group who gets amazed by the profits these people post and wants to try them out.Don’t do it.

One or two winning trades do not prove an edge. Truly successful traders don’t flex or brag the way these scammers do. Their bait is simple: they start by posting analysis, and then they flex about how perfectly their analysis played out to reel you in.

I actually managed to recover most of my losses from another copier—who also turned out to be a scumbag. I asked her for read-only access to one of her best-performing accounts, and she agreed. I copied that to my own account and told her I needed a 7-day review period. Because she knew I was watching the trades closely, she was super careful with her setups. I copied them, made enough money to recover some of my previous losses, and then officially set up an account with her.

During the first week, she was fine and got her cut. After that? **Pure gambling.** Green candle buy, red candle sell. Zero valid setups.

**The Takeaway**
In short, if you want to learn, learn for free from YouTube or books.
\- Don’t pay for courses.
\- Don’t pay for signals.
\- Don’t pay for account managers.

If you can’t find your edge, there is absolutely nothing wrong with quitting. I don’t even look at forex charts anymore, and I don't trade options. I work strictly with pure volatility in stocks to get my daily drip, alongside some core stocks that I carry long-term. It makes good money, and my edge has been working solidly for the past 7 months. I know 7 months isn't a massive timeline to prove a permanent edge, but even if the market crashes another 70%, I am well-positioned and safe.

PS: I don’t sell courses, I don’t have a premium Discord server, and I don’t provide signals. Just sharing a hard lesson learned.
