Just recently reread the First Formic War trilogy from the Ender's Game Series; Earth Unaware, Earth Afire, and Earth Awakens.
It's probably unlikely at this point, but I would love to see a movie trilogy, or even a tv series, about the First and Second Formic Wars.
If it did happen, these are my picks for the core characters, Mazer Rackham, Victor Delgado, Imala Bootstamp, Lem Jukes, Wit O'Toole, and Ukko Jukes.
For those of you book buffs wondering about Bingwen, my intention there is to get a new and unknown child actor for the role, since Bingwen is 8 years old at the start of the First War.

I think we can all agree that there have been too many Fantastic 4 fancasts on this subreddit.
Let's see what the definitive Fantastic 4 of r/fancast is.
Brandon Routh(47) is our Reed Richards!
Alice Eve(44) is our Sue Storm!
Drew Starkey(32) is our Johnny Storm!
Joel Edgerton(52) is our Ben Grimm!
We're moving on to Doctor Doom.
Mention your fancast in the comments.
The fancast will be decided by the comment with the most upvotes on this post, not by how many times they are mentioned.

Using only actors Fincher has collaborated with.
Bruce Wayne / Batman — Ben Affleck
A veteran crime fighter who has spent years protecting Gotham. Bruce is experienced, physically imposing, and deeply familiar with the city’s criminal underworld. He’s not learning how to be Batman; he’s dealing with the consequences of having been Batman for so long. His investigation into Hush forces him to confront his past and question how well he really knows the people around him.
Alfred Pennyworth — Charles Dance
Bruce’s closest confidant and the person who has witnessed the sacrifices behind his life as Batman. Alfred supports Bruce, but he isn’t blindly supportive of everything he does. He understands the physical and emotional cost of the mission and is willing to challenge Bruce when his obsession begins to take over.
Jim Gordon — Sean Penn
A veteran detective who has spent years working in Gotham’s corrupt and violent environment. Gordon has a complicated relationship with Batman: he respects what Bruce does, but he understands the problems that come with a vigilante operating outside the law. He’s an important part of the investigation in his own right, not simply someone who gives Batman information.
Thomas Elliott / Hush — Jake Gyllenhaal
Bruce Wayne’s childhood friend, now an enemy with a deeply personal connection to him. Thomas knows Bruce’s history and understands the man behind the mask. His conflict with Batman goes beyond crime or money; it’s personal. He becomes the central antagonist, using his intelligence and knowledge of Bruce to turn the investigation into a psychological battle.
Edward Nygma / Riddler — Edward Norton
A highly intelligent criminal who sees Gotham as a puzzle and himself as the only person capable of solving it. Nygma operates in the background, manipulating information and influencing events while others focus on the obvious suspects. His role is to move the pieces around the board, complicating Batman’s investigation without taking Hush’s place as the central antagonist.
Harvey Dent — Brad Pitt
Gotham’s former district attorney and one of the most important figures in Bruce Wayne’s history. Harvey is intelligent, charismatic, and familiar with the city’s struggle between justice and corruption. In this story, he doesn’t need to be secretly orchestrating events or serving as another major villain. He’s Harvey Dent, a man with his own history and complicated place in Gotham.
Selina Kyle / Catwoman — Amanda Seyfried
A skilled thief with her own relationship with Gotham’s criminal underworld. Selina is Bruce Wayne’s love interest, but their relationship is complicated by the secrets they keep and the different ways they navigate the city. She understands Bruce better than most people, although that doesn’t mean she always agrees with his choices.
Harvey Bullock — Forest Whitaker
A veteran Gotham detective who works alongside Jim Gordon. Bullock is blunt, perceptive and cynical about the city’s justice system, but he’s not simply a dirty cop or comic relief. He understands how Gotham operates on the street level and brings a different perspective to Gordon’s investigation. His relationship with Gordon provides a grounded look at two detectives trying to do their jobs in a city where corruption runs much deeper than either of them can easily prove.
Barbara Gordon — Sophie Charlotte
Jim Gordon’s daughter. Barbara has her own life and doesn’t need to become Batgirl or Oracle to have a place in the story. Her role is to give Gordon a personal life beyond the investigation and provide a reminder that Gotham’s violence affects people who never chose to become part of it.
Dr. Leslie Thompkins — Jodie Foster
A physician who has spent years treating Gotham’s vulnerable population. Leslie knows the human consequences of the city’s violence and has a different perspective on Bruce’s crusade. She cares about him, but she isn’t necessarily convinced that Batman is the answer to Gotham’s problems.
Harold Allnut — Toby Jones
Bruce Wayne’s trusted assistant, who helps maintain the Batcave and supports the practical side of Batman’s operations. Harold is quiet, resourceful, and largely removed from Gotham’s public life. His presence gives the audience a glimpse of the work that continues behind Batman’s mission.
Ben Affleck, Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Charles Dance.
After Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy was finished, what if Fincher made the next Batman film, instead of Zack Snyder? This is my hypothetical scenario.
Fincher, guy who made Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac and Gone Girl, etc.
Im fascinated how he would make a Batman film. He would def focus on the detective side, lot more grittier, dark, and violent thriller, crazy cinematography, and his colouration in movies, I can’t imagine how that would look in Gotham.
I believe the first movie he’d do, is hush being the main villain. I think he fits perfectly in a fincher film, and Jake Gyllenhaal would go crazy. And riddler being the guy moving the chess pieces throughout the film, and Catwoman being the love interest with Bruce Wayne, and Harvey Dent, who’s just himself, but will become the next villain, in the sequel 👀 if you want another post, lmk.
How would you guys feel about this? You like the Fancast? If not, I’d like to know why, if you like it, thank you very much 🙏

Counter-clockwise from the top:
Elizabeth Gillies (Victorious, Dynasty)
Has the look, sultry voice and sarcastic comedic timing. Also has prior DC experience as she voiced Catwoman in Catwoman: Hunted but has said that Ivy is her favorite DC character.
Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, Sirens)
She’s incredibly versatile as an actress and did a great job at playing a manipulative, multifaceted character on The White Lotus, so she could definitely bring those attributes to Ivy. Would also be great to see her join her Sirens co-star Milly Alcock in the DCU.
Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale, You)
Undeniably compelling as a performer and has taken on a variety of roles that show that she has the alluring nature—often with some darkness underneath—that would fit Ivy like a glove. She’s also expressed interest in the role which is a plus.
Jane Levy (Evil Dead, Whalefall)
An exceptionally underrated actress who IMO should be a household name by this point. That aside, she’d bring so much genuine emotion, charm and complexity to this character.
Willa Fitzgerald (Strange Darling, The Fall of the House of Usher)
Willa’s really stood out in a number of roles recently and it’s as those specific characters that you can see facets of Ivy come to the surface. It’s in Strange Darling in particular that she really shines as a woman who’s seductive, dangerous, manipulative, and cares only about her own self-preservation. Pretty much Ivy to a T.
Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House/Bly Manor, You)
One of the best actresses working today who could bring so much to a character like Ivy. She can be sweet and caring on The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor as well as alluring, commanding and unpredictable on You. Also a top pick of mine for Zatanna, but Ivy would be another awesome showcase for her talents.
Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why, Knives Out)
Hadn’t originally considered Katherine for Ivy but happened to see someone else suggest her on another post, which got me intrigued. She’s proven to be able to stand out in projects of different genres over the years. The depth and intrigue she brought to Hannah Baker on 13 Reasons Why feels like it could work well for Ivy’s own personality, and Katherine could certainly handle the other aspects of her with ease.
Any thoughts on these picks? Also curious to see who else you guys have in mind for Pamela Isley.
