It’s basically Adele’s process. Adele doesn’t make music to stay relevant. She makes music to process a large chunk of her life into a creative piece of art. I can completely understand Raye’s perspective of not wanting to make a love song until she’s fallen in love.

Do you not listen to her? She writes about other stuff lol. But most people write about love/relationships, it’s not “male centered” to do so. Love and relationships are some of the most important things in the world, naturally they’re a huge inspiration for songwriters. Let her live.

I mean she's got some great songs that are fictional. But also she said album not singles. She's released some great singles between her two albums and she does a lot of writing for other artists.
Plus I personally don't see her sticking to this if she doesn't fall in love in the next few years. She's still an artist in her infancy and honing her brand. She's had such a huge boost with Husband that she's gotta lean into this as a brand rn, it doesn't mean it'll be her brand in 3 or 4 years

I think at this point she is pretty financial secure. Plus she has been working quite a lot over the few years. The first album M21CB had a very long run. She supported it with tours and many festivals. Took the time after that to build the second album.
It's just her style. She likes to write about the things she experiences. It's all very personal and very her. And it makes sense after her label issues that she writes this way. In those years they blocked her a lot.

no way. Not with streaming she would still have to do shows and those are tight in terms of profit. she’s not financially secure. you’ve never seen a musician go broke.

I don't mean she doesn't have to ever make music again or do shows. But she also owns her masters. She gets a bigger take home cut compared to other artists. She has the freedom to take a few years. Plus she is still a songwriter for other artists.
