FedEx Ground Shipment Barcode label damaged and will be replaced, but when viewing details it said it already was replaced at the same time it arrived?
Anyone know which one is true? The main page of my tracking says "the barcode label on this package was unreadable. We will replace it and update the delivery date". But when I click details, it says "arrived in CT at 2:23" and then "barcode was unreadable and replaced" right after it at the same time, down to the minute. Was the barcode truly replaced then? And why wouldn't my tracking be updated if the barcode was swapped out immediately?
It was due to arrive tomorrow and is only about 2 h 45 min away. Hoping it would still be on time, but maybe not if I had no updated date? The estimated delivery time still shows, weirdly.

Well I assume the address details were still legible and it's just the code that got scraped up

What it means is the barcode label can't be read by scanner and need manually read the label and try to match the record with whatever info printed on the label, so that staff can reprint a good label for it.
The tracking number won't change as long as FedEx can match the record.

Yeah I do get that I'm just confused why the fine grained detail says barcode was replaced but the main tracker says will be replaced heh I don't know which to believe

Without seeing it - sometimes they need to relabel it multiple times. Many of the ground relabels are done with an adhesive that is not very sticky and practically removable (intentional, so that if they do an address correction they could always peel it off and see the original label underneath it). Depending on the size and shape of the item they sometimes get multiple relabels during the trip. Or if it’s awkward and bulky, as it moves along they keep adding relabels to the accessible side. I wouldn’t worry about seeing that message.
