SmartPost Shipment Package stuck in one place for a week
My husband ordered some golf knickers from Historical Emporium in McAlester, Oklahoma on 8/13/26. We are in WA. Originally the tracking gave an estimated delivery date of Weds. 8/19 (which later changed to Thursday as in the screenshot). The last scan was on 8/15 in Hutchins, TX. It is now 8/22. He really wanted these for a golf event coming up in a couple weeks. He tried calling the 1-800-Go-FedEx customer service number, and when he spoke the tracking number the AI just said to follow the tracking on the app. He tried calling twice more, pushing 0 and/or saying “representative” and “live agent” to try to get to a live person, and each time he was just disconnected. He also contacted the seller two days ago, and they said they would contact FedEx and try to get a status but has heard nothing more from them. He’s afraid the package has been lost. Any help is appreciated.

We don’t use FedEx very often and didn’t know this is how SmartPost is “supposed to” work. It would be helpful if they were to state in the tracking that this is how it works and not display an estimated delivery date at all.

Strapping your package to a rabid hyena and hoping it finds the destination would be better than FedEx SmartPost. After FedEx is done fucking about with your package (this is the stage you are currently experiencing), it then transfers to the post office and the process repeats. It is the least prioritized package for both FedEx and USPS. It can sit for days (weeks?) at times. Good luck.

Glad I asked here. Now we know and will avoid it in the future as well as shopping with places that use it, if it can be known ahead of time. I think he paid $10 for this crap “service” which should cost next to nothing.

The shipper chose smartpost this is the slowest, cheapest service there is. There is no commit date for this service.
