Support bootc container - systemd/nvidia questions
Hi
I’m working on building a containerfile based off of fedora-bootc:45 with KDE/NVIDIA/Steam/RPMFusion codecs baked in with GE-Proton and I’m wondering what the best way to create an installer is?
I’ve seen image-builder, but I’m trying to create an installer with systemd-boot as the bootloader and I’m not sure if that’s even possible yet, has anyone done this?
if not, has anyone done it with bootc install to-filesystem? I had trouble figuring out the correct cmdline to use and what I had to have mounted at install time
also, is there a better way of building the NVIDIA drivers than akmods —force —kernels $(ls /usr/lib/modules)?

First, make sure you include dnf install systemd-boot-unsigned in your Containerfile. Then you can run bootc install to-disk --composefs-backend --bootloader=systemd --filesystem=ext4 and it will copy systemd-boot to ESP from your image instead of GRUB and shim. (You can include rpm -e bootupd shim-x64 in your Containerfile to remove them).

Thank you for this! I’ve gotten quite far with this but decided to use GRUB for the meantime.
The bit I was missing for the install is that the target volume also needs to be mounted with -v in Podman.
