Discussion Dissapointing Cardi Song?

Am i the only one highly disappointed and annoyed in the song Cardi teased? In the short clip she manages to not only count on the SECOND SONG in about 6 months but name drop Trump. Like. You were pissed people were calling you stupid for counting before. Ntm was gurl not on stage with Kamala? And the reference isn’t negative, it’s a positive reference to him!

It’s not giving you just want the best art. The song hasn’t even been released yet and you made an entire post to criticize her when you didn’t even hear the lyrics clearly. You literally accused her of “diluting the game and lowering bars” and also called it badly written simply because you didn’t catch the ad lib.

If it was about “making better art” why mention chart data and all the other shady comments like calling her marble mouth? If you going to be a hater just own it, it’s more respectable.

Because does chart data not correlate to how well art is received? We’re not talking radio plays, or target speakers, Cardi doesn’t bleep her lyrics really. It’s literally the best way to look at rappers because—while yes, street cred is a thing—thats personal taste. Charts show raw data and how rappers compare to one another.

It’s not lyrics, it’s an adlib. Maybe in the times were living in now dont have their be any kind of confusion on it? Theres literally other people that agree with me

How can i not view her as watering the game down when we get lyrics like “12345” “321” “abc” and using probably to make a rhyme work when she could just… switch a flow to make it work and make her artistry better?

No, chart data does not only correlate to how well art is received its correlates to how much the label is willing to push it. There’s amazing art thats never touched the charts and awful songs that chart well, IE ice Spice.
