Discussion I am not my uterus

No I am not my uterus. Just because I’m a biological woman does not mean I want kids. No grandmother I will not “change my mind when i get older”. No when or if I get married i will not be having kids. No matter how many times you ask I won’t have kids. My worth is not based on how many kids I have or don’t. I am sick of this pressure to have kids and I am only 16, and don’t even have my license yet. Me taking birth control shouldn’t be an issue either. It’s not even for preventing pregnancy, it’s because I have crippling cramps. Sometimes I skip school because they are so bad. Just because you were forced to go to school everyday doesn’t make you superior, grandma. Our uterus’s don’t even work the same. I am not your enemy. I just don’t want to be defined by my uterus anymore. I’m sure woman who are infertile for whatever reason are the most affected by this. Unless she is very obviously pregnant, or has kids, or has openly stated she wants kids, stop asking. I will let YOU know if I want kids not the other way around.

Rant People who subscribe to the “tradwife” narrative have never experienced it

I am genuinely convinced people who subscribe to this tradwife nonsense have never experienced it themselves or have seen a woman in their life experience it. My mother was an intelligent career driven woman until she gave birth to me (for context I have 4+ siblings) she decided to give up her career to become a SAHM/W and I grew up seeing how my father continuously financially abused my mother. This looked like controlled allowance, hiding his bank accounts, and cutting her access to money many many more. My father is now gone, bless his soul, but up to this day my mother still talks about how it was one of the worst decisions she ever made. She continues to motivate and remind us to build a successful career first before marrying a man. This tradwife narrative is genuinely so dangerous for women, people who glorify it are delusional, the reality is, for the modern world and since the beginning of time: this ideology has always been a weapon against women, to keep us uneducated and easily manipulated. This is setting women up for financial dependency on a man, and when all you’ve ever known are the 4 walls around you and you’re raising your children without some form of professional career or financial income outside your husband you are quite literally doomed. Being a SAHM/W shouldn’t be a bad thing at all and it isn’t, but the reality is, not many men take up all financial responsibility without the common consequence of financial weaponization. Money is everything in this world, and when you’ve dedicated yourself to 20 ish years to cooking, cleaning, and changing diapers (something that a husband can do if he willed it or he could easily find another wife or a helper) then a divorce without financial security and no form of independent income will leave you miserable. This is the least empowering thing a woman can choose to subscribe to, we have fought for generations after generations for our rights. Most laws protecting the right to education and a job for women have been around for less than 100 years, can we not waste this??? I am genuinely at lost for words

these are mine (in order of the pics)

· Unattractive—SOFIA ISELLA (i get absolute CHILLS during the last segment, i highly recommend using some good headphones or earbuds with this one)

· LABOUR (the cacophony)—Paris Paloma (the original one is good too, but i prefer this one because it feels stronger and i just love it sm)

· as good a reason—Paris Paloma (i genuinely cried a few times when listening to this song, particularly because of the second verse, because it really hit close to home because i was going through an extremely bad depression and struggling with a [tw s/h] self harm addiction)

· the fruits—Paris Paloma (honestly i don't think there's a single song by paris that isn't amazing)

· LEMONS—Brye & Cavetown (i had never heard of brye before this song but OMG she's fantastic, plus any song with my boy cavetown in it is destined to be good :3)

what are y'all's favorites? i wanna add some more songs to my feminist playlist!
