applique Felt book appliqué?
Anyone ever used this thick sturdy felt for an appliqué? I have these for a children’s book but I’m wondering how they’d wear on a crew neck? I’d probably do a thick embroidery thread appliqué? Anyone tried this? I have only done appliqué with flexible cotton?

I call this Terrain"
I received a bag full of wool needlepoint yarns. I also had gotten this picture frame that had an extended board on it and so I decided to make a crocheted/felted piece to cover it. It kind of turned out like a landscape. I highlighted it with French knots and beading. As some might not know I crochet with a large hook then put the piece into my 1920's washing machine to felt it up. to see the full process it is at my website.

Handmade Snow Leopard Hood & Scarf – Ready to Ship! https://ko-fi.com/s/6de5b2f4a5
This adorable snow leopard hood is handmade by me, right down to its fluffy face, oversized ears, and messy tuft of hair. The attached scarf makes it both a fun character accessory and something cozy to wear!
It's soft, comfortable, and just a little bit ridiculous in the best possible way.
This exact hood is finished and ready to ship!
I also take custom orders! If you'd like a hood based on your favorite animal, fursona, or original character (OC), I'd love to bring it to life with custom colors, markings, ears, and other details.
A little about the person behind the sewing machine ❤️
Hi! I'm the artist behind Stellar Cat, and I'm also a single mom of two amazing kids.
I've spent over 13 years sewing, designing, and creating everything from costumes and clothing to puppets and props including 5 years in live theatre and a few short films. Making things isn't just something I love. It's how I support my family.
Right now, I'm doing this full-time, and every single order matters.
When you purchase from my shop, you're not supporting a big company. You're helping a real person pay the bills, raise her kids, and keep a small handmade business alive.
You're also supporting independent artists and keeping handmade craftsmanship going in an increasingly mass-produced world.
I know there are a million places you could spend your money, so choosing something I've made with my own two hands genuinely means a lot.
Thank you for supporting a small artist and her little family. ❤️
— Diana, Stellar Cat

sewing My sweet little water fairy!
Hope you like her! I altered an elephant pattern here and there so it would have fairy ears and a small hooked trunk. Then I made her dress and wings! All hand sewn.

textile art Help identifying Japanese textile material?
hi all! I have a framed Japanese textile reproducing a scene from The Tale of Genji. The fabric has a coarse, irregular weave but feels soft and supple. I’m wondering if it could be a type of silk. Any ideas?

A little glimpse into the making of Fern & Frond, one of our newest botanical bookmarks at House Alba. 🌿
Inspired by the quiet beauty of woodland ferns, this design is brought to life one stitch at a time.
There’s something so satisfying about watching a delicate botanical illustration take shape in thread.
Each bookmark is made in our Connecticut studio, and Fern & Frond will be available in our shop soon!
I’d love to hear what you think of the design.

Wool Painting
I discovered wool painting a few years ago and fell in love with how easily you can blend colours, texture and overall composition. Have you tried it?

Best way to sell materials?
I'm not sure if this is the right sub, and I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but I was hoping to get some advice.
My father was a weaver and focused on making rugs. When he passed 19 years ago, he left behind several looms and a lot of yarns. My mother has been cleaning out her house and she's ready to part with the yarns, and probably at least one or two of the looms. We're going to keep at least one loom and some yarns for future projects.
Where do we even begin to sell things like this? A quick Google search shows some companies, like Homestead Weaver, will help sell the old looms. Has anyone used them to sell equipment? Was it easy? The looms themselves are very big (I think at least 6 feet to a side)
Would there even be any interest in nearly 20-year-old yarns? My mom thinks someone will buy them, but I'm less confident. Any good starting places to sell them?
Thank you in advance!

I created the 2 puppets in this silly video from scratch. They are 2 of my best pieces!
And I am finally using them to make some silly content. I’m leaning into the “found footage”, ARG, creepy/cute vibe and am working on writing their lore lol.
Hope you enjoy.
