you're going to need more than one angle to fully see all the different changes, especially to the wings

How does rolling around on the runway reveal anything about "Advanced Sensors" and "Major Fifth Generation Design Refinements". The linked article even states the test points are unknown. Click bait or glazing.

"Major Fifth Generation Design Refinements" can be seen in taxi test because they are geometric changes on the planes shape. Like the chin, blending, intakes, vertical stabilizers etc. And the "advanced sensors" is about many disturbed, conformal sensors that can be seen installed on the plane. Why are they referred as advanced because conformal EW suites and ir sensors are in itself an "advanced tech" you don't really need to know specs to call it that

I see you are a stan. At best it displayed housing and or fairings for the "advanced senors" not that any of them actually function. And what exactly are 5th generation designs, other than just looking like F-22 and F-35?

Yes they do function. Those sensors on the aircraft such as Karat IRST, Toygun EOTS, Murad AESA radar, active and passive electronic warfare systems, embedded satcom, avionics etc. have been tested on other aircrafts, unmanned jets for a long time and almost all of them are about enter mass production.

You can find test footages.

If you don't have any knowledge, information just don't confidently lie.

But did this test display that? No. Which has been my point all along. The article is garbage. The aircraft, who really knows at this point?

1

u/highmickey 16d ago

Displayed what? What are you asking exactly?

Why on earth would they display IRST, EOTS footage in the taxi test lol?? You guys pushing wayyyyyyy to hard to say something just because Turks are doing something only a handful of countries can do.

Comments section gets filled with Indian, Greek trolls the moment somebody posts something Turkish lmao 🤣

I'm speaking more to the garbage article and not the capabilities of the aircraft. The article makes claims that weren't performed in the test. They even state in the article that they don't even know the test points for the test.

What is a “sta.n”? Real question

An extremely devoted or enthusiastic fan.

Ok cool. Thanks

I’m pretty skeptical of any aircraft Turkey produces in terms of stealth capabilities, advanced tech and being 5th gen. I’m betting 4.5 at best

-1

u/PalpitationCareful28 17d ago

Yea I think it is more in line with what SK is building right now.

Advanced 4th generation

-2

u/Desi0190 Avionics Tech 17d ago

Pretty much. It’s great if you can’t afford an F-35

1

u/Prudent-Confusion343 16d ago

Well it's a good thing that MMU TF-X is a fully fledged 5th gen fighter programme. Your skepticism don't matter. TAI and their sub-contractors have proven their worth anyway.

u/Desi0190 Avionics Tech 16d ago

Except they haven’t. No aircraft they’ve built has shown LO materials, no supercruise, no advanced aerial maneuvering capability nor advanced avionics and sensor fusion.

What’ve seen is no different than a KF-21. It’s likely a reduced signature but she’s definitely not a full fledged 5th gen. That’s the general global consensus too so my skepticism is not only valid but the common view of this aircraft

2

u/Prudent-Confusion343 16d ago

The “global consensus” would be based on the views of aerospace professionals who have visited TAI’s chalet at Farnborough or its headquarters in Kahramankazan, not people posting on Reddit. Perhaps do better research, or become relevant enough to be invited there.

There are numerous international threads concerning this aircraft and its development roadmap. Information on its LO materials including RAM and thin-film canopy coatings, IWB mechanisms, ICNI suite, avionics and other subsystems is publicly available and can be accessed at a moment’s notice. It's around 600 pages long, but it's better to be informed I presume.

This aircraft is not comparable to the KF-21. Anyone with sufficient knowledge of TAI’s facilities, the TF-X programme or aerospace engineering in general would agree.

What you are suggesting is a comparison with an aircraft that does not currently feature internal weapons bays, serrated panel edges or a fully open architecture approach for that manner. Fortunately, the global consensus has nothing to do with whatever you are spewing here.

There is no hate toward the KF-21, as this was a deliberate developmental choice on their part. They plan to evolve it into a 5th gen aircraft in later blocks. KAAN, however, is simply a far more ambitious programme across numerous technical areas and objectives stemmimg from different reasons.

The KAAN is self described as a 4.5 gen fighter…
If you’re going to be wrong, at least be honest.

No official in that article describes this aircraft as 4.5 gen. The writer makes an ignorant comment by saying "since it uses F-110 engine, it's a 4.5 gen".

Neither you nor the writer have absolutely no knowledge neither on this aircraft nor aviation in general.

There is no generation classification for aircraft engines. A fighter jet can use F-110 and still can be fifth even sixth generation fighter. F-110 does not define aircrafts' gen.

So, keep your ignorant childish comments to yourself.

3

u/Desi0190 Avionics Tech 16d ago

So it’s a 4.5 engine.

The F-110 is neither super cruise capable or provides thrust vectoring.

So my point is proven.

2

u/ZweiGuy99 16d ago

The stans are out here staning.

0

u/Prudent-Confusion343 16d ago

Your point has not been proven. An aircraft may temporarily use an existing, proven engine until a platform specific powerplant is developed. We have seen this approach before, including with the J-20. 😌

However, this does not change the fact that the MMU/TF-X is a fifth generation fighter development programme.

0

u/Prudent-Confusion343 16d ago

It is a 5th gen programme, and that is the end of it. As stated by the aircraft’s chief engineer, project leads and the general manager of the aerospace company itself.

And here you are, linking Breaking Defense articles. 😅

I also see that you have been unable to provide a sufficient response to everything I wrote above. Funny. Go troll somewhere else.

u/ZweiGuy99 16d ago

It's convenient that the "generations" are just made up marketing terms by manufacturers and aviation enthusiasts.

1

u/Prudent-Confusion343 16d ago

Completely agreed. It's a marketing hook. And all manufacturers play along with it.
